Played against a Quest mage earlier today, and it is the one deck I truely hate. I was using a control warlock and I managed to pull Archmage Antonidas with Dirty. IT FEELS SO DAMN GOOD.
And another game against a Rogue who played keeleth t2 followed by a greetings emote. I won the game fairly easy.
I'm having a ton of fun playing Control Warlock right now. My list has a ton of anti aggro cards, but also runs Rin, N'zoth and Bloodreaver to out value people.
Highlights from last night were topdecking my Golaka Crawler to kill a Rogue's 7/7 Southsea Captain that had been bonemared, and forcing a Priest to overdraw his Dragonfire Potion the turn before I played N'zoth.
Not sure if its the best deck to climb but its been a while since I played this much HS. Almost grinded the daily 100 gold lmao which is something I didnt do since the times of midrange warrior in Old Gods.
Seems like this expansion is really fun. I still have 15k dust but not sure what other deck to craft, having too much of a good time with mage right now lol
beat the Trapped Room AND Xol, both for the first time (I think only the 2nd or maybe 3rd time i've faced the trapped room, and had been 0-3 or 0-4 vs Xol) in my latest Dungeon Run FeelsGoodMan. Hunter with extra mana crystal, cloak of invisibility, 2 wax ragers, 3 flappy birds, and a deathstalker rexxar. trapped room got me down to 2 health before i stabilized, and with 3 hunter secrets up out of 5 and none proccing, i just stopped playing cards and attacking face, just hero powering him down over about a dozen turns so he couldn't play any more secrets. i think that makes 12 wins in 48 runs (3/4 with paladin and 2/4 with hunter, all others with 1 win between 4 and 8 runs each)

Its been a frustrating few days for me. I've been teetering back and forth on the verge of hitting rank 1 (highest I will have ever been). With 5 stars at Rank 2, only needing 1 more win to rank up, I always seem to get screwed!
As a Control Warlock player, I kept getting there and then being matched up with Burn Mages and Razakuses, which are consistent losses for me. To top it off, even when I would get a good match up, like aggrodin, it appeared as if the HS gods took a royal sh*t in my opening hand and RNGesus reached down into their decks and gave them the high-roll of the century.
This morning, on that fateful edge between rank 2 and 1, I was again put in an unfavorable matchup... Razakus. Lovely. Thought about just conceding from the start. Decided to play it out. Meh starting hand. T1 Kobold Librarian. T2 I draw and play my Gnomeferatu... Milled his Shadowreaper Anduin = Auto Concede.
just won against a control warlock with mage of wonders.i ended up winning with 1 life and 26 armor. He conceded after i discovered the third scroll of wonders from cabalist tome. I can go to bed happy.

playing my cubelock/cntrl hybrid I've been working on since start of meta. Get the full umbra combo a few times in a row and doing some other cool plays in general.
The 2nd time I bluffed that I was just playing a voidlord control deck, until turn 9 the weapon came out and then I set up the combo on turn 10 for lethal. I think you can hide the fact you're playing a doomcube combo pretty well if you build the deck right, this could waste any weapon removal. don't use your weapon early and try and lackey, if lackeys are silenced you can n'zoth them back again if need be.
I remember a game where I was hit with weapon removal and 2 silences. only to have never actually drawn my DG's yet. I popped a n'zoth and got my 2 lackeys back which were previously silenced, a long with some voidlord cover. was able to pop those next turn and do some magic to create lethal.
I think when the deck first started to manifest in day 1 and 2 of the meta, people were more focusses on just getting out as big of a DG/CC combo as possible, but there are so many little idiosyncrasies within the deck that allow for further experimentation and combo.
I really do like my cubes.. it's a shame the deck has became the netdeck of the month pretty much, but it's still fun to play. Might be worth actually working on a counter deck now though, or even building another version that counters itself.. that would be fun.
Lost so many times to control warlock/cubelock. It was so frustrating. Nothing seemed to work. They heal forever and then create a taunt wall. I played keleseth warlock with five, yes FIVE silence minions. I silenced his plated beetles, his mistress of mixtures and finally his voidlord. He just couldn't heal. I never felt so satisfied.
An insane win. Me playing as a control warlock vs Tempo rogue. Before I continue, I want to say I don't have a deck tracker, so I couldn't capture that moment. Anyway:
I'm constantly tapping, trying to find my AoEs and taunts. Not much to say - I clear, he refills the board, I clear, I put a Corridor Creeper, followed by him playing a Swashburglar and an obvious Vilespine Slayer. Like I said - everyone does something to get over the other one. {quick mention at one point he lost both his Vilespine Slayers and SI:7 Agents, so with the exception of Leeroy Jenkins, who didn't show up anyway, there wasn't a reach anymore}
So the story continues at turn 10: - I'm playing my Twisting Nether and I think I tapped. - He found a Lord Jaraxxus from that Swashburglar and goes to the face. Fuck, I'm telling myself, I used most of my single-target removals, I wouldn't have handled a wave of 6/6s. - I can't really remember the following turns, I can remember that he didn't want to attack my Tar Creeper, which I played after he used Jaraxxus, I remember having some minions, which threatened lethal, but got injured, because I made some trades. - Top-deck - another Swashburglar, which gave him an Abyssal Enforcer. And from a winning position, I immediately lost my board, my chances to win and I had no ways to clear his board anymore. He made a 6/6 after that. - I remember then top-decking a Stonehill Defender, played some cheap taunts, but still somewhat durable, so that the opponent won't hit those with his face and then to use a 6/6s for my face. + I had a Spellbreaker just to have a body on the board. - Next turn he plays a buffed Saronite Chain Gang. And I am thinking well gg. Might as well tap to see what I can do. And I did find an answer: - My remaining cards were: Dirty Rat, Defile and a top-decked Hellfire, all of which helped me clear his board and then to play a 2 mana 2/6 taunt while sitting on 1 health. - His turn (he is btw at 4 health) - he makes a 6/6 and plays a 3/3 Edwin VanCleef. - I hit him for 2. Now I'm sitting at 1, he at 2 and the next card could change everything. And it did - right before this game I crafted Rin, the First Disciple because I needed a tech against the other warlock decks and this taunt saved me. The rogue player drew a Shadowstep, so nothing helpful. Then he just conceded.
And the win was achieved by all the new cards I put - dirty rat and rin. I never had a close game as that one. It was an epic one.
The game played out--they did finish the quest in the end, and I don't know if they ever had a copy of Antonidas, but to add insult to injury, the turn where I'd popped the second block, I played Valeera the Hollow, so I was stealthed the whole time. Even if they could have gone infinite Fireball then, they couldn't have gone face.

Good shit though.

I lost but this was still pretty hilarious. Gotta be the most insane turn 5 in any game I've ever played.

Prince Keleseth on turn 2. Followed by an unlucky 1/1 Patches the Pirate.

One person's pepper is probably another's salt.
So I'm playing Quest Rogue. I get double Shadowstep, Zola the Gorgon, and a Gadgetzan Ferryman and with coin and prep, I've got the quest up on turn 5. My opponent is Quest Mage, so they respond with a Frost Nova Doomsayer clear. I've only got one charger in hand, so I can't respond. Next turn, I notice they've got nine cards in hand. Coldlight Oracle. The mage burns *get this* Molten Reflection right away, and next turn Sorcerer's Apprentice.
The game played out--they did finish the quest in the end, and I don't know if they ever had a copy of Antonidas, but to add insult to injury, the turn where I'd popped the second block, I played Valeera the Hollow, so I was stealthed the whole time.
