At rank 5 now and I really can't stand the meta anymore.. there was one time where I faced like 5 paladins in a row. 5! are you kidding me? And honestly there is no deck right now that has enough answers for the mysterious challenger wave of minions followed straight up by Dr. Boom and Tirion. The only way to beat secret paladin is to play secret paladin too or maybe try and rush them down with druid/hunter. Seriously this meta is NOT fun at all.
To answer your post: yes it's stupid and no there is nothing to do about it. Aparently the only way to beat it is to either concede or be lucky with draws, which due to how the game works, only happens in a max of 55% of the cases. Good luck tho ! I'm stuck at R10 still due to Mage, Paladin and Huffers.
It's sad to see one of my favourite decks - Control Warrior made obsolete because of this midrange meta.. and please to anyone don't give me the crap that Control Warrior still "works" or is "in a good spot" in this meta when you only won some games at rank 15 against some gimmicky crap.
I think it's time for me to quit Hearthstone, although I've been thinking about it for a long time already. Hearthstone is supposed to be a casual game yet it makes me stressed out and pissed off.
There is no counter to mindlessly dropping Mysterious Challenger turn 6 followed by boom turn 7. Ridiculous brainless deck.
This isn't always the case though, yes those instances where this happens is annoying and nearly impossible to bounce back from but it doesn't happen every time.

To be honest, I don't find secret paladin as threatening as it is just annoying. I hate the deck. I've got maybe a 50-50 winrate against it with CW, maybe a little better. What I don't understand is why so many people play it. It doesn't look like a fun deck to play. I don't get it.
its legit taken the fun out of ladder, even if there are a couple decks that counter it, outside of patorn those decks kind of suck vs alot of other popular decks
I legit play secret paladin 7 out of 10 games at rank 5-2 since last season
IMO it's has to be nerf to 7 Mana atleast . Problem with MC is against a slow deck like CW they mull for it , especially if they had coin , they only got 4 or 5 big creatures ( loatheb , tirion , Dr Boom , 2 MC ) , so it's very easy to curve perfectly on every match . if it sits on 7 Mana then ppl still has answer to every play they had . I think it's the most broken cards on HS and Murloc knight being the 2nd one .
I have a one game winning streak against Secret Paladin. That said, it's the kind of deck where the matchup matters more than most. I definitely have several decks that just stumble against it; and I only have a couple that beat it more often than not.
It's a good deck because it is very strong but requires nothing to play: You mulligan the same every match, you play every early turn based on simple priority and if the game isn't already over by turn 6, a lot of the time you can drop an ungodly amount of stats for 3-4 turns... then it's poof and no more steam. No early game decisions, no midgame decisions and very rarely do you have to think in the lategame.
Hardly a single thread on this forum exists where people ask for advice playing secret paladin. It is completely obvious why.
Any deck where bad players win almost as well as good players should have alarm bells ringing. Loudly. Look at more classic decks regarded as "braindead"... facehunters and rush pally... in these there is actually a high difference between unskilled and skilled.

get quest gold to do arenas.
zero secret paladins there...
as long as you dont totally stress about loses, the gameplay in arena is more fun
Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
Argent Watchman Argent Squire Frost Giant
Aviana Hogger Snipe Sea Giant
A lot of all these counters you talk about don't actually work. Freeze mage can't clear their board reliably because of deathrattle/redemption/avenge.
Midrange hunter may get clogged with heavy cards in early hand and die to rush even if they manage to flare MC secrets.

Last night, Krups went like 4-0 against secret pally with Midrange Mage, it seems like a good match for the Mage ;)
my stats with my midrange paladin are like 13-2 vs paladin 70% is secret pali

Yep.
Freeze, Echo Giant and Tempo mage is a good counter, Midrange Pally and Droo have 60+ winrate vs Cancer Horseman

It's my most hated deck.. it just feels so cheap. I think I might hate it more than facehunter.
BrosephStalin - I played you! Well Met!!! :-P I can't find the game in my tracker, so I will say that you won! :-)

Isnt control priest pretty good vs this crap too ?
