I really don't think GP is as OP as people are making it out to be. it's more so the other cards in the deck that have insane synergy that are hard to play around and control.
Smart players will play around the combo and counter it but even some days there is nothing you can do.It's fun though and having "OP" decks is good for shifting the meta. It's when a deck is over played and cards don't exist to counter it when nerfs need to take place.
Frothing berserker can get a bit out of control and perhaps they should put in a "attack power can't exceed 10" or make it a 2/3 to reduce the amount of WW/DB deathrattle/Inner Rages that can be used to buff it up
Dr.Boom definitely needs a nerf - I'd change him to a 7/5 OR his boom bots deal damage to any random minion (including your own).
PS: To the guy enjoying games versus GPW : how the fuck can you enjoy being OTK'd from full health?
I enjoy playing against Patron Warrior as well. The challenge is in forcing them to use their combo pieces separately so you can pull it apart. I can safely say the most a Patron Warrior has ever hit me for in a single turn is ~24 and I burst harder than that in most games if I play Freeze Mage.
It doesn't always work and I probably lose ~50% of my games, but that's how the game works. Unless either you or your opponent is doing something very wrong and misplaying, the matchups are almost always within the 60-40 range.
i really dont get that hate towards patron or frosting or warsong... sure they can kill you from empty board if they have the combo in hand, but you need the cards in hand, that is something that doesnt always happen, there is always that game now and then, but that is something that happens with a lot of decks, how many times have you faced a mech mage that has curved perfectly and you couldnt do a thing? not a lot, but there are some games here and there where that happens, the difference is that if a mech mage has perfect hand you lose the game by dying a little in each turn and if grin patron has perfect hand you lose it in one big turn. the same for druids, every one hundred druids you face one that innervates 2 times and coins a doctor boom, but what about the other 99 druids, dont they deserver to have innervate?
my point is, patron warrioris a deck that actually requires some thinking when you dont have the luck to have the cards that you need in hand, there are also times were you are forced to put the cards in play before you want, there are 3 damage creatures with taunt that counter the deck, there are high health taunts that counter the deck... is not that op, is just that is cheap to make and doesnt require legendaries to do well in ranked, but you actually need to play the game with some skill if you want to win, unless you have luck, but that can be said of every other deck out there.
i actually have a patron warrior deck, is the first deck that i have been able to make with the cards that i own that has an official name, i think that i can play with it pretty well, i do make some misplays here and there, the most common one if not attacking with the ghoul at the end of turn if i play one with the warsong onboard, but other than that i usually do the right thing, and i dont always win, there are decks that can survive the combo and there are others that dont let me prepare the combo in hand, and there are the times were the combo doesnt even show up in my hand, so i dont get why so much hate for this deck when is not even that op.
If you are butthurt about OTK combos you should go to blizzard forums and cry for nerfing Raging Worgen and Inner FireDivine Spirit combo too. I bet people would do it if more people would play those decks.
Uhh why do you think not so many people play those decks? Because they are not overpowered.
I personally thinking GP Warrior should be nerfed. As it currently is, drawing a bunch of cards is just too easy, and the Warsong Commander barely costs anything. Maybe upping the Commander and Battle Rage cost.
Also I really hope they nerf Dr. Boom and the rumors are saying both Boom and Grim will get the nerf. From another forum, insider says: "My uncle who works for blizzard told me Boom is getting nerfed in the expansion patch. They plan to make the things he does less good."
Seems legit. Would 100% trust that nephew! So specific, too!
Just nerf the charge effect from warsong commander from 3 to 2 and minions buffed above 2 atk lose charge.
Altough it wont fix raging worgen otk... ;p needs some more cards but it happens too.
That would destroy the deck. You wouldn't be able to do all that damage with the Grim Patrons. I still think the best solution is to up the mana cost for Battle Rage and Warsong Commander. That way, a Warrior would need to wait until turn 9 (without Emperor) to make that play, and turn 10 to use whirlwind with it. If you have Thaurissan, then you can do it as early as turn 7, unless you have a coin.
But the main difference, is that GPW wins even if the opponent have a good hand. The game just depends of GPW hand, and not of the other player. Thanks to point that out.
Absolutely ridiculous nonsense.
I've played plenty of Patron Warrior, and I'll tell you right now, if I'm playing an opponent with an aggressive deck, and they draw a good hand, I'm dead before I can do anything useful at all. You certainly will never see any Patrons hit the board.
Just nerf Warsong commander to be an Aura, so if attack exceeds 3, then charge disappears. It wont ruin Grim Patron, and Frothing will have to manually charged or wait a turn to be effective.
For Blizzard to nerf a card, it usually has to meet 1 or 2 of the following requirements:
1. It enables or helps enable a class or a certain deck archetype to dominate the meta by a significant margin (ex. Undertaker).
2. It enables or helps enable some form of excessive burst damage with little to no correlated interactions between the two players (ex. Leeroy Jenkins).
3. It outclasses any cards in the latest expan$ion set.
I don't think Grim Patron has quite met the first requirement yet (or the third), but I'm sure this will change when more and more people are getting acquainted with playing the Patron deck, eventually pervading the meta in a substantial amount.
The deck isn't that strong. I even lost to paladin with it and won as a paladin against it so it's not 100% win even when you are hard countered. dr. boom isn't op it's the rest of the 7 drops that are bad, add better 7 drops..

Thanks for confirming that GP Warrior is not 100% win. Must not be OP then.
Look I have just started playing Patron Warrior and yes it is a good deck but its power houses come from things like Thaurissan and deaths bite. I also play combo style decks in magic the gathering and yes they have no interaction but they still have their place, however storm like combos should not be the dominant meta its actually pretty toxic. however aggro has been a large part of the low tier meta and that is a very favourable matchup for patron (in my experience) so I can see why people hate playing against the deck. long story it doesn't need a nerf the meta needs to shift.
you know, its funnier that grim patron decks win rate is under 50% while face hunter is sitting at 80% win rate.....
makes me wonder if the whiners here are actually face hunters trying to hide the fact they are more toxic than patron warrior.
boom bots will likely do less damage

Nope.
Nerf Ranking:
1.Frothing Berserker (Grim Patron is fine but getting OTKed from 30 HP or more is ridiculous)
2.Force of Nature+Savage Roar(14 Damage for 9 Mana-->(Pyroblast Nerf Deal 10 Damage from 8 to 10Mana WTF!?!), at least 75% include the Combo
3.Emperor (Enables crazy combos like the ones mentioned above)
4.Dr.Boom

i made a comment, but on second thought any thread with grim patron in the title just ends in a clusterfuck

Whose ass did you pull those numbers from?

The other 64% don't have Boom, or they would play him. Don't forget he is a legendary.
You should hurry up and craft him then so he can be.
