Hi, I play on NA server quite a lot, I've played hearthstone since the month with the pirate card back(can't remember the number) and I have almost every card in hearthstone. I have come seeking advice because I always end up getting 50% winrate or some crap and no matter how hard I try to grind out a decent winrate, I have never passed rank 5. I very much like control decks such as Control Warrior and Handlock, and I'm quite fascinated with Freeze Mage. But recently a buddy of mine said that if I want to grind to legend I need to play aggro decks, and obviously all of you are going to start with "it depends on your playing style, bud. If you can get a good winrate with control, play control." But I am honestly losing all hope of accomplishing my goal to achieve legend. If any of you could give me some tips, or maybe some specific decks or types of decks that allowed you to get legend, I'd greatly appreciate your assistance.
This might seem like generic advice, but your question is fairly general. Always remind yourself: I am playing against other real people. In order to rank up (past rank 5, where the streak bonuses stop) I need to have a >50% winrate. That means I need to - in some way - be better than the average person I play. And not just for some games, but for a large number of games all the way to legend.
The best way to do this is 1) Find a deck you know can hit legend 2) Learn that deck really, really well 3) Tech it appropriately for the meta you face 4) Think farther ahead than your opponent 5) Play lots of games

Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out
Thanks all for your replies, I'll start considering these things. Good luck to the rest of you as well.
