I'm stuck at rank 11-10 right now I can't seem to win more than half my games with any deck I try, freeze mage, patron warrior, midrange zoo, oil rogue, etc. Like I know in the games I lose I either make a small mistake or my opponent gets insanely lucky (like turn 1 Coin + Innervate Keeper of the Grove to kill Flame Imp) but it's still exceedingly frustrating. Anyone else having that problem?
Mostly been taking care of my dailys on ladder and trying new builds this season. Which has been good enough for 11 and 4 stars. Going to start grinding tomorrow with Oil Rogue, that should take me to Rank 5 or so and then I'll probably use some of kind combination of Dragon Control Warrior, Ramp Druid and midrange Shaman. If I make legend I'll shoot for rank 420 with Handlock.
rank 4 right now with handlock since rank 9, had a pretty cool winstreak from rank 9 to 4 , didn't lose any game, just lost the first one now, currently with 1 star at rank 4. gonna keep going with warlock it's probably gonna be my third golden hero after rogue and druid.
rank 11 and full stars for today, im gonna get legend with dragon priest this season
What Dragon Priest list have you been running? I've been looking at some decks on Hearthpwn but haven't been able to decide which one to try out. Also, is Ysera required? It seems like some decks run her and some don't.
Hello! It's the first time I'm trying to reach legend. Currently I'm at rank 5. I'm using tempo mage, midrange zoo and face hunter so far. Any tips about the grinding to legend appreciated! :)
PLay many games. Don't play while on tilt (streak of losing). Try to stick with the same decks (2 or 3) that you know have good matchups in this meta. Mid Zoo and Face Hunter are both good decks to ladder with. Tempo Mage seems a bit me (even if I just losed to one with my Handlock after a huge mistake about what he was running).

im testing my own list of dragon priest. i posted a couple of testing lists here on hearthpwn but i end up using a different list since i still try to figure out stuff. yeah i play ysera, chromaggus and nefarian. i think ysera is essential.i dont think i have a hard matchup it all depends on the RNG draw for me and my opponent but i know i beat mage especially easily

If you depend of the RNG draw, you decklist might be a bit too greedy and not that much consistent. I know that drawing cards is some sort of RNG... but you can check it out by allewviating your mana curve, as an example, or including more tech cards that are likely to provide you some tempo (Big Game Hunter, Mind Control Tech, Loatheb, Harrison Jones) or value (Priest has enough class minions like Cabal and Auchenai, just to name them).

So I've been slowly but steadily grinding with Midrange Zoo (sitting at rank 9 with a 63% winrate 29 wins - 17 losses) but it does get a bit monotonous after a while. If anyone is interested in adding me on NA (SirFunchalot#1871) and taking turns spectating each others games to help make optimal plays etc it would certainly help break up the monotony of laddering and hopefully increase of our win percentages thanks to having that additional set of eyes to make the push to legend take a bit less time.
Also for those interested here's the list I've been running:

my deck list is not greedy and i have an above 50% win rate wherever i play ranked. my mana curve is tempo meaning i have cards at all costs. i can outplay the early game of a mage with my early game but i can outplay the late game of a druid with my own late game. its just if i draw way bad in some games and i play vs a face-zoo tard its kind of difficult to win. but my deck has a success cause its something different. all you see in ranked are zoo grim patron warrior and their counters. theres no originality
Hey guys i'm also trying to main priest for a second legend try this month. Last month i was at r4-5stars (though not with priest) and i could have easily played a lot more. So i want to be back at r5 after this weekend. Right now i'm not so sure to find a consistent dragon priest deck - i guess you have to perpetually adopt to the meta.
I have found a lot variations on dragon priest, like: - tossing in Deathlords (1 or 2) - running more buffs(spells) and less big minions to have a stronger midrange game - variations on the big minions themselves ysera/chromaggus/nef/sylv/other? - lightbomb yes/no - running bgh or not - 0/1/2 blackwing corruptors
You can do so much. What are your thoughts for the upper ranks?
My thoughts: if you want to get to legend for the first time (!), stop playing homebrew-decks and go with something tried and consistent: Zoo, Midrange Zoo, Midrange Hunter, Grim Warriror, Combo druid...

I have this exact problem!
I got legend last season with 10 days to spare on EU, played only oil Rogue all season.
This season, i got to rank 11, like 4 days ago, and thats where i still am! must have played like 30 games at rank 11 with the same oil rogue list i used to hit legend :(
Ok, first time trying to go for Legend. Was Rank 10 this morning after climbing from rank 13 with a Dragon Paladin with some heals, just been smashed back down to rank 12. The salt is real!
I have not had alot of time to play as of late but ive made it to 18 with my Mech Hunter deck, its on the list if you wanna see it, but these combo rogues are giving me a run for my money, got beat back to 20 gonna jump back in momentarily and try again.
Rank 5 ( 3 stars) on eu, playing mainly freeze mage, midrange warlock, handlock ( with old leeroy combo :D it works thanks to emperor nobody expects it) . I struggle vs druids though...
Glad to see someone trying the Leeroy combo with Thaurissan. I've tried it with Arcane Golem. Still a 16-damage burst for a 3-card combo that came on turn 7 sometimes.

I recommend Handlock and Zoo for laddering. I reached legend last season only with Zoo, so I can confirm that it's very solid. This season I wanted to try Handlock for the first time. It takes some time to master, but it's a very good deck with fare to great chances against all other decks. That's what I tend to look for: every deck has stronger and worse matchups, but I can't play with a deck that has a almost sure loss against certain deck. That's why I stopped playing Oil Rogue. It's a nice deck, but against control warrior it's like gg from the start.

Been playing Aggro spell mage (not the chinese one), Combo druid, and Zoo.
What are people's thoughts on Patron Warrior?? Was thinking of maybe trying it out, considering that's mostly what I tend to lose to atm.
