I would love to sit here and say "I know whats coming.", however other then blizzard no one does. With the pax east about to go live in 5 or so hours I thought I would list out what I think, hope, and pray to see.
1. Dwarf sub type perhaps. This seems kinda unlikely but there could be some coolness to it.
2. DRAGONS. Black rock mountain is home to many raids and dungeons and with the exception of Molten core they all had dragons or dragonkin in them. Would be nice to get some more of them and perhaps some synergies.
3. New mechanics. I know this is the golden taboo at blizzard. Blizzard has had chances to introduce new hard mechanics like taunt and charge, but instead has opted for more one off scenarios or special abilities rather then creating new types every expansion like some games are known to do. Personally I think the game needs it at this point. My personal desire is a make your own foe reaper. This would create some interesting design choice changes.
4. New pve/pvp play modes. I really want a 2v2 mechanic.
5. LEGENDARY WEAPON. Yes I know this is an old one but considering where this one may be set it makes some sense for them to introduce it as this region is where you got the frist legendary weapon in the game. well the parts and plans at least. Hell even the second one you had to get two parts of from this region not to mention some crafting mats also found in this region. Not sure how they will do it, but it would be cool to see this done.
6. Minions with battle cry cleave. As it stands this would provide an interesting counter balance to aggro for slower decks.
7. New game boards. Between molten core, blackwing lair, ubrs, lbrs, there is a wealth of possible designs available.
8. MORE THEN we got out of nax. This one Im pretty sure is gonna happen just because of the fact it is not a set raid or dungeon. Its a region that contains 4 dungeons and 3 raids. The sheer amount of possible bosses to face off against leads me to think this may be 2x if not more bigger then the curse of Naxx.
9. Price increase. While I think the wings or weeks will remain the same, I feel that there will be an increased amount of wings thus you will have to spend more. Im completely fine with this as long as we are getting new cards for the effort.
10. New non weapon equipment. People have been asking for druid and or caster weapons in this game. Many have felt this would take away some of the uniqueness of weapon classes. In the Mekkatorque workshop series that Noxious and myself produce we have created many items for non weapon classes to use. Books, orbs, things of that nature. Many didn't have an attack but an effect they could apply under the right conditions. I would love to see something like this as it would add diversity of gameplay and design.
What are some of your hopes, desires, and speculations.
I'm hyped for cards that might finally make aggro viable such as the dude that makes cards that cost 5 or more unplayable that we've seen in a 'leak' a couple of days ago. /irony off
In all seriousness, I agree that this expansion will probably be larger in scale compared to Naxxramas but I'd be surprised if the number of wings increased. We might see more bosses/wings (even wings that have the theme of an individual dungeon) and probably an increased card count + price.
There is some validity to this however only as much to the greater impact of what these possible non attack items would do. Fact is you have 4 main classes that are really relevant in the meta and a really strong ,and one that is only relevant in top end play and or tournaments that use weapons. Now in my average day i play against more weapon classes then anything else. And yet the viability of teching in anything other then a Harrison Jones has not presented itself. So I do not see it becoming a compulsory thing yet. And you realize we are speculating on speculations....LOL

I don't have much info about Wow, but I remember that I read something about Faerie Dragon's effect could be a keyword someday.
I really like the non traditional weapon idea. I could see Mage and Priest having a staff or orb that has abilities like maybe spell damage +1 while equipped or healing is doubled. I think that's a really good concept that could open up a lot more possibilities.
Although if that were to happen, an already valuable Harrison may vault into the most important card to have. They could also have a Kezean Mystic type card that steals a weapon. I think that would be really cool.
I hope they go big with Dragons and make that a more playable mechanic. I really hope they put more effort into the Legend cards. There are quite a few GvG Legends that are just unplayable and never see the light of day. Wasted card imo. I rarely see any GvG legends played on ladder except Boom and everybody wants to take him out of the game.
I'm actually more interested in possible game improvements included in this major patch than I am in the adventure itself...things like an increased number of deck slots, new quests, and new playing modes (not necessarily 2 vs 2 - I'd be ok with random deck battles, etc.). If there are no new play modes or anything else that adds variety to the gameplay, I expect I'll be bored with this game before the next major card expansion hits. I can feel that creeping up on me as it is.

If there are going to be more weapons, I'm hoping for one that is "fiery" and prevents your hero from being frozen while it is equipped. The 2/3 mage mech can really shut down a weapon class.
I'd also just like to see the trend continued of introducing cards that help with classes weaker strategies, ie: Aggro warrior, control hunter.

I could not agree with you more on these points. Well done.

"As part of ongoing communication with the WoW developers, it has been agreed that Hearthstone is now the official source of WoW lore. We hope you look forward to seeing Ragnaros, Lightlord in Legion!"
yeah it does kinda cheapen it some what...But hey look at that they made a minion with aoe battle cry. Not all that much of a cleave but I WILL TAKE IT. :) kinda sad faces about the small standard naxx size of it though but if we wanted a bigger set up we would be waiting till July again. Though since this is coming out in april and will be most likely concluded im may or early june. That will be a very long time till new content in december. I was also happy to see no new nerf's announced. happy days
So far I'm personally underwhelmed. If you are doing your big unveil/teaser and the cards we've seen are it to "hype" it, then it isn't very convincing. What I'm seeing so far seems like an attempt to slow the game a bit and move into more control which is good for the most part but it just looks like games will simply be more drawn out not necessarily more fun or complex. Handlock-ish for all classes isn't really what we needed. I'm still hopeful that new mechanics will be introduced and not just 2v2 as far as play modes. If not, I'll keep my money and play it out for gold and see how it pans out. There should have been at least one card shown to make people talk and be cool/unique and I am just not seeing it so far.
I like the shield equipped as weapon idea, although that mostly makes sense as a warrior ability. With only a half dozen cards known as of now I'm guessing the best stuff will be in the later wings, possibly something that summons Rag or at least fetches him from your deck or your opponent's. And I'm still waiting for more Elemental stuff. Seriously, give Shaman something that puts Fire Elementals in his hand.

DRAGONS!! so hyped for more dragons!! there better be more dragons......

Moved to our fancy new Adventures forum :o
I expect dragon eggs. Many, many eggs.
I also expect some revamp on older cards that fit into the theme: Onyxia, War Golem, The Beast, etc.
number 10 was 0 attack weapons where the focus was on the effect and the triggers for effects. I.E. Caster weapons.
maybe:
1-New daily quests.
2-New UI.
3-New race and keyword (maybe something like DoT)
I'm hyped for cards that might finally make aggro viable such as the dude that makes cards that cost 5 or more unplayable that we've seen in a 'leak' a couple of days ago. /irony off

This.
They could rename "weapon" class to be "equipment" class and add stuff like 0/5/3 shield. Half a damage when your hero gets hit.
It would allow that slot to be more versatile etc for all kind of durability stuff like even potions.
So, looks like no new game modes or UI improvements, unless they're holding those back for future communications to build up hype. Meh.
