I am also a consistent wild player. Usually end at around rank 9, best I ever did was rank 4 with renolock. This month, I've been straying away from wild and playing more standard. Currently Rank 12 in wild and rank 12 in standard. Big priest is a very frustrating deck to play against. That I have to agree on. It takes a certain skill set, patience and some luck to beat the deck. It's very strong, but, statistically not very strong. Any player who has ever played against it will agree with me that stats dont tell the full truth. The resurrect onslaught can be overwhelming. Katrina, mass resurrect, lesser spellstone, resurrect, eternal servitude, and some new cards from Uldum make it tough. even control warriors cant deal with all of that. It used to be a polymorph or hex and a sylvanas so it can be stopped, but now the deck as evolved. I've been playing alot of new wild decks but, I always stop and go back to standard once the dreaded priest is matched against me, lose everytime. Tough deck to beat, easy deck to pilot. Maybe I'll make a new version for this season and try to top my best rank ever (4) . If not going to odd pally or secret mage
Actually, it is one of the harder decks to pilot. There are non-aggro decks that mess up the Priest's Res plan, and there are decks with a ton of removal that punish Priest if it overextends or res's the "wrong minions".
Suggestion: develop your own skills instead of saying "deck X" is easy to play. Rank nine players have lots to learn.
They won't nerf anything in wild until the game ends
Right. Except for the cards they did nerf, even when they were already Wild exclusive, like Dreadsteed, Naga Sea Witch and Aviana.
The lousy argument "it's Wild, it's supposed to be unfair" falls flat when the developers aknowledged on several occasions that there's a limit to what should be possible in Wild.
And I think a deck that entirely shuts down any other Control Deck (unlike Jade Druid, which dies almost instantly to Skulking Geist) and happens to be the most popular deck in the format and pushes the format into a very aggressive metagame and is doing so for such a long time now really deserves to be addressed.
its an unfair deck, not saying it is unfair to play with, but its a deck that can cheat out big mana minions on the board on early turns... big rogue is also such a deck as well as some warlock decks...
Just get over it, these decks exists and will continue to exist...

Stats stats stats - when Big Priest is up for discussion these do not matter...
Hell it could be a teir 4 wild deck I would still want the deck nuked from the game. I have done for years, it's the only deck I feel this way and I am not alone.
Why? Because gameplay matters and Big Priest not only negates minion battles, it outright punishes players for removing their minions. They are not a combo deck, with lots of stall, they still play minions - you are just not allowed to play your own and trade as normal. It fundamentally ruins hearthstone.
It's got to the point where nerfing Barnes would actually do almost nothing. That is how bad it's got. Turn 4 Vargoth...what do you do? Short of having them most premium transform removal in the game, you are fucked....because a 2/6 hit the board. It only ges worse from turn 4 onwards.
Just too much of mass resurrection to handle. I also love playing big minion decks, but once big priest is rolling, it is beatable with very view other decks. If Big Priest can only be beaten by a handful of decks, it makes all other deck options useless and Hearthstone is much more than just playing strong meta decks. Even if you hex or polymorph a minion, big priest hast enough revival and enough minions which do not harm the resurrection pool too much.
Anyhow, big priest is not the only stupid deck out there and some might even be worse. I have to say at least it is more interactive (although this does not make a much difference because of the huge power of the deck) than Freeze Mage, Mill Rogue, Exodia Mage or the new Cyclone Mage or Pirate Warrior, ... hyper aggro decks or decks in the style of cycle through the deck and clear the board all the time. So many bullshit decks which do prevent interactive and fun games. Depending on what kind of a deck you have, you can mostly just hit the concede button. Should it really be like that? Shouldn't each deck have at least a bit of a chance against another? Sometimes it feels like 10-90 or 20-80.
I would really like to know how many people really love big priest and how many don't and if yes, then why. I can imagine even mirror matches are soooooo boring to play.
I also don't believe anymore that Blizz will fix this big priest thing once and forever. Wild is their garbage can and they don't give a sh** on balance.
I've been playing a modified freeze mage, so from my perspective, I can't wait to meet them. Unless they get rag early, it's pretty much over.

I think some sort of mini low cost Mad Summoner could work to fill graveyard, would at least give control players a chance while not having to nerf the existing cards. There are cards like Saronite Taskmaster, Gravelsnout Knight, Flight Master now but they don't feel effective enough.
I used to play wild almost exclusively, but now with Big priest, Beeees druid and turn 4 voidlords im basically a standard only player at this moment. the only deck that really has a chance vs druid nowadays is mechathun and cyclone/quest mage. As an older mostly f2p player its sad the the majority of my collection is unusable now, but at least im having fun with standard tempo warrior. surprised i havent seen any others on ladder and nothing on HSReplay, pretty easy climb from 18-7 with only a couple loses, and I can genuinely say I lost due to topdecks or opponent having insane draws. Having a 3 card 16 or 24 damage combo if you lose board is always a nice backup plan.

Also, you're losing value in stronger cards for 1) Hoping you play vs big priest (not guaranteed, and chances while running a counter deck seems to be lowered) ... and 2) hoping that the revive 3 cards hits ONE of those, which, again, small chances and 80% of the time doesn't ... also the other 2 minions are usually too large to out value.... also 3) if you play a later game comp to counter this, you end up running into more aggro decks that just face roll you...
Hearthstone has killed itself, stop complaining or stop playing, really not that hard to do. Blizzard doesn't care what you think, they've reached the point where most of their player base is dying off and are just going for cash grabs with new artwork and PvE content, if you stop supporting them while they put out trash content they'll start listening, until then buying into the new expansion just tells them you're okay with sub-par updates
People say big priest can be countered as if there is a system in the game that let's you know what deck your next opponent is playing lmao. Of course some decks counter it but maybe people don't like playing those and they're not guaranteed to always face Big Priests and their deck might be useless against other decks.
I agree with you. However, it is highly unlikely to ever be addressed.
I quit for around a year, then returned to the game recently. When I see the priest hero at the beginning of a match, I just sigh now. I use some decks but mostly make my own based around themes, gimmicks, or legendaries I really like. I do some standard, but a lot of wild. Naturally, most of these are modeled after control decks unless I'm doing something specific. I really love the dragon cards, so ill often make different versions of dragon decks for paladin, mage, or warrior when new cards come out. Big Priest ruins a lot of that in wild.
I can say confidently that its just as bad if not worse than peak jade druid in standard. One of my first matches back in wild was one, and he managed to get a full board of Vargoth's. Other matches they just keep restoring their entire board, and when they have Obsidian Statue or other cards that kill enemy minions, you can't build a board.
Also as a potential fix, I suggest that Vargoth be changed to so he only recasts spells that were cast while he was alive or on the board. That would mean he would not recast Shadow Essence or any of the revive cards
And thats where youre wrong. Do you even play wild? Have you played anything other than big priest yourself? Do you even know how frustrating it is to see a vargoth played on turn 3 or 4 and just know youll get buttfucked from there?
Every match its hoping they dont draw well and you do, so you can out tempo them. That doesnt happen very often.
It doesnt. I play that, counterspell barely helps. Explosive runes only help them. Potion of polymorph is hardly triggered. Ice Block stalls, but doesnt help. Flame ward idem. And so on. Im rank 7 now and probably thats as high as ill get.
Actually, according to HSReplay, there is a Secret Mage decklist that achieved a whopping 68% winrate in a sample of over 7000 games, and yet people are still complaining about Big Priest... It’s kind of funny.

Its not about winrate. Its about the mechanic and the frustration knowing that once vargoth enters, youre done. Barnes on 4 is the same. It shouldnt be about highrolling vargoth and barnes and res from there. Zero skill, zero fun.

Not really, it depends on what they draw.
