Old decks still work, especially when people learn to pilot new cards and innovate new decks?! By God! This never happens the first few weeks of every expansion! Next thing you’ll tell me that aggro decks had a great win rate on day 1 of the expansion drop?!
I have to disagree - entire new archetypes were introduced, some of them being very good. Also, Secret Hunter appears to be better than Mech Hunter, which didn't actually get any support in the new set. Listed purely by winrate, the top 5 decks in the meta would be Control Warrior, Murloc Paladin, Secret Hunter, Control Mage, and Murloc Shaman. Mech Hunter comes in at number 6, which supports the conclusion that the meta really did change after the new expansion and that your claims about new decks being "not even close" are factually incorrect.
It was pretty much expected that Boom woukd still be top Tier. But it has the downside of beeing super slow and Games Take so Long that for ladder its most likely Not worth the + winratio.
Mech Hunter Profits from the somewhat slow and not optimised Quest Decks. Its winrate will most likely start to drop soon.
Downside of ctrl warrior is wasting your life in outrageously boring, and ultimately rng decided mirror matchups. When your opponent archivist into archivist and you were ahead all game it's not fun.
Quest pally is good vs warrior, greedy quest druid can win with a combo, quest shaman can out value and out tempo warrior, sometimes it's sacraficing value for combo with these decks.
Hunter mech should lose to the right zoolock list. The new vulture style doesn't seem that good vs hunter but it can generally overrun mech hunter as they hardly ever run more than one Unleash. Druid with quest has an okay time, depending on the build. Highlander mage has been a decent matchup vs mech. The heals or silence from wish are great, reno is great, flame ward is good. Play an ice barrier if you face a lot of hunter. I haven't tried priest but I'm sure it's in a better spot vs hunter than before.
Rogue seems bad vs both. Unreliable theft deck for 3 damage a turn for 1 mana. Not very good. No combos with random cards except test which is also random.
From my personnal experience, I've encountered like 2 mech hunter and 2 cyclone mage from rank 6 to legend. And even control warrior play a lot of new cards so playing against and with feel a bit different. But I've seen countless quest druid/shaman, highlander hunter, some quest rogue/priest, murloc paladin.
So yeah, this expansion change a lot of things. But will it be durable ? That's not so sure.
Control Warrior and Mech Hunter are god tier.
New decks are not even close this two.
This is so sad.
If you only really care about winrate, I suppose it didn't. There is more to this game than playing the best deck.

Highlander mage is the best deck and everyone plays it.
Looks totally different to me
