So I've been trying to beat dalaran heist chapter 5 literally since it came out lol, but whenever I get to khadgar I just don't even stand a chance. Any reccomendations on what hero to use and what type of deck to win against khadgar would be appreciated.
The one that worked for me was paladin, the normal hero power and the first deck.. what i did was reduce by 3 the sound the bells.. this means you instakill any boss as long as you have a free minion to go face.. that said, you have to have a good early game with some control tools, or strong tempo like mechs.. tempo is more importante than value.. and of course, dont get the robe as a passive, as you will play the sound the bells a lot..
you still have to get lucky, so as soon as you have an opportunity, you win.. it is better to delete all cards when given the chance and also dont add cards to your deck, as you want to increase your chances to draw it..
All the final bosses are mages with a lot of spell synergy so giving them all minions just sort of ruins their decks. As long as your passives can kind of give you some advantage like cost reduction.
I had stealth with a lot of mech and 5 zilliax. had a insta kill combo with ring the bells and the 5 mana weapon that receive everything with a animated armor in the pool.
On a side note if seen players saying they had mal'ganis and stealth
I used priest with the reduce a minions attack hero power and the standard deck. I beat stage 5 in my first try, and was never really challenged. Had the minion +1/+1 passive buff and the random card cost passive buff. I also got the shuffle 5 random treasures into your deck card. So yeah. There was one game I had the discover a legendary minion and put 5 copies on the board on turn 3 costing 0.
Thanks for all the suggestions! Gonna try Paladin next i think. That ring the bell combo seems exactly what I need tbhThat khadgar fight had me boiling after the 3rd or 4th time he beat me lmao.
I also beat him with Paladin. I took Fly-by and the 20-damage orb, and my passives were the OP robe and the rush thingy. (The rush passive is SO GOOD in paladin.) I also got The Last Kaleidosaur early on, which incentivized me to take more buff spells.
Once you have the robe, just recruit all the ridiculous high-cost legendaries you can get your hands on. It's almost hard to lose at that point.

Here's another player beating Khadgar with regular Paladin on the first attempt. I have to admit that the 11th boss (Kalec) felt much harder to beat (12 dmg Explosive Runes, anyone?) but Khadgar made some hilarious plays, e.g. letting me draw six cards with Research Project while his special elemental was up or shuffling four more copies of Cursed! into his deck. I had already lost a good chunk of health while he was still hovering around 95. But I was able to play Emperor Thaurissan on turn 7, Alexstrasza on turn 8, followed by Hydrologist into Eye for an Eye :o
I beat him both on normal and heroic with Rogue using the 2nd deck. Get Recurring Villain, the passive that buffs your minion +1/+1, and the cards that can activate a minion's deathrattle. Now you have sticky minions that spawn immediately after they die.
When you meet Bob, try to buff your Recurring Villian if you didn't get the passive. I always remove Journey Below, and reduce the cost of Violet Haze to zero. Recommeded passive/treasure: The one that summons boomsbot at the start of the game, the one that summons an immune King Mukla, the poisonous weapon, the quad twinspell board clear.

I beat on Normal with Hunter, first deck (beast based) and the hero power that gives you a 1-mana minion. On that particular run I picked the double health for me and the passive which make every spell cost health instead of mana. But always I want to get cheap minions and if is possible, buffed ones, in general I try to pick low cost minions.
beat it with mage, the hero power that reduces the cost of cards by 2 and the elemental deck. passive i got use the hero power twice for zero mana, felt like cheating. when u get this, u want to choose big minions and play them early. easy game, got it first try
I steamrolled it second try with warlock, basic hero power, and basic deck. I managed to get the half off cost reduction coat, then got the new rafaam and right hand manned him so he appeared in my starting hand everytime, this combined with the give minions rush passive allowed me to flood the board with powerful legendary minions on turn 3, and all of them came with rush.
Beat it with warlock. I choosed double health, rush minions, 50 damage card, that legendary minion with 4 damage to all enemy minions and 1 mistery box. I also used Reno Jackson. Total: 140 health filled again with Reno. Last boss was hard to beat.
I can't beat the 11th boss I think the name is calec or something. The hero power gives sorry damage plus 1. I've tried with paladin and mage and no luck. I've beaten the first 4 chapters with mage so I'd like to beat the last one but I'm just not having a luck. Any suggestions on what to choose/look out for?
Won on my first try with Warlock. My plan was to have lots of ways to always clear board until I could reach win condition. I didn’t consider face damage early because I suspected things would snowball quickly if Khadgar could stick anything.
Key pickups for me were King Mukla, Ragnaros Firelord, the poisonous weapon that doesn’t damage hero, and a couple of Lich Kings.
I had passive powers of one less summoning cost and rush
I chose 2 siphons and 1 blastcrystal potion and a couple of board clears
I had maybe 4-5 healing minions
My goal was to remove early with weapon and small minions and keep health reasonable, then land a Rag or Lich King and use the card that gives 2+2 and summons 2 copies to win. I also wanted to get Mukla down ASAP and buff him if possible (but I couldn’t target him because he was immune)
I screwed up big time by letting him copy my spell that “deal 3 damage to all enemy minions twinspellx3” He was able to cast this about 12 times and kill off the 3 Lich Kings I had made. I also had to burn Rag and the other Lich King when he filled my hand over and over
In the end he couldn’t kill the Mukla, and I was able to get home via an non-targeted buff to him right after I ran out of cards
I've just beat Heroic, I'll outline both my builds (Standard and Heroic)
Standard I used Warlock with the basic Hero Power and the Seeker Deck. Picked up the double health and Togwaggles Dice passives, and filled my deck with big demons, a copy of Gul'dan DK and healing. Had Big Boomba has a board clear, along with a couple of Hellfires. He couldn't deal enough damage to outpace the healing in my deck, and eventually got worn down.
For Heroic, I completed it as warrior using the Undermine hero power and Boomin deck with Hagatha's Embrace and Double Health as passives. I got Dr.Boom Mad Genius half way through the run, and started grabbing Mechs from there. Had 3 x Omega Assembly for psuedo draw, Boomba, Brawl and Deathwing for board clears, Clockwork Goblin and Hakkar to suplement the bombs from the hero power, and Zilliax and a 6 mana, 10/10 Scraphound (Tall tales x 2) for Sustain. Again, dragged it out, took everything he could dish out, and let him die by the tainted blood and bombs.
Neither of these were the easy options, but I'm so bored of how broken the robes are that I at least enjoyed these runs, especially Khadgar taking 45 damage from his own (triple casted) Arcane Intellect..
Won first try with Warlock with Elixir of Vigor, Duplatransmogrifier on Elder Taggawag - Then it was just to keep drawing more and more Taggawag and clear the board - Easiest Heroic run I had. Guess I got lucky.
I got a really good warlock deck together and managed to down the last three bosses with relative ease.
Used the Seeker deck with the Pact hero power. Passives were Robes of Gaudiness and Hand of Rafaam. Treasures used were two copies of Overpowered. Primary cards of use included two copies of Rin, the First Disciple, Ectomancy, Floating Watcher, and Mal'Ganis.
Hand of Rafaam hinders your opponent for at least a few turns, be it by damaging them or forcing them to play useless cards. Rin is EXTREMELY powerful when played early alongside Robes, because you can get Azari out in a very small amount of turns. Additionally, if you have a Floating Watcher, Mal'ganis, and an imp all active at the same time and play Ectomancy, the results are pretty damn devastating, especially when combined with Overpowered

Yeah, a toast!
I beat it with the golden candle

My passives were Stargazing (I drafted a pretty aggressive Murloc deck, including four Murloc Tidecaller coupled with a bunch of good secrets and Mysterious Challenger) plus The Hand of Rafaam.

It's impossible to beat with paladin so i suggest Mage
