So entitled. Everything has to be want, want, want. They've made a great decision to make some changes to unpopular or ineffective cards in a move which could shake the meta up and keep it fresh between then and a new expansion.
If they do this each expansion then it gives some new cards time to shine and stops it being the same decks over and over between expansions.
Instead of saying 'you now what, nice one, good idea, we appreciate that' you get this bollocks.
'technically' all you want, you're being greedy and spoiled which is sad.
I mean, the only valid argument you could try to make here is if you crafted a card for even/odd decks and now it cant be used because the mana cost is now something else, so technically that's a nerf.
Refunds have always been for when a card's reduced in strength, or HOF. We're not getting refunds for these 18 cards, as nice as that would be.
I would argument, that a buff for certain cards is a nerf for any other card. So we should get increased amount of dust for disenchanting all other cards except the 18 ones which were buffed :)
No, stop looking for places to demand dust. This is is incredibly entitled and tedious.
Blizzard has clearly only given out dust for explicit nerfs. Lynessa was a case where the stated intent was different from the actual function, and Blizzard fixed her accordingly which made it a bug fix, not nerf. Tess was explicitly stated to keep casting after death so they fixed (after the erroneous change) her to work they way they said they did. Tag changes and functionality changes (like rule consistency or exploit patching) have never qualified. Why would making cards objectively better count now?
Actually, I had a pretty genius idea with this. If nerfed cards give you full dust back because you wouldn't want them anymore, then what would Buff cards be? Something that you want to add your collection ofc!
Knowing that I would propose that blizzard should make the cost to craft any of the buffed cards 50% less then their usual. That way most people could add the more valuable ones for a bit cheaper. 👍

Hi i'm Tyler and I play hearthstone and watch anime.
Sometimes i make cards. I'd like to do that for a career one day if ever possible.
Absolutely. The concept of "nerf" and "buff" actually do not technically exist (hold your rage and go with me...) - you can change a card in some way, but whether it is considered a nerf or buff is actually exclusively down to a subjective opinion (whether it is logical or not).
For example, if you changed Crystology from 2 mana to 3 mana, then many would call this a nerf. However an Odd Paladin player might consider it a buff - "Might", mind you. This is purely a hypothetical example, not a discussion about Crystology or what cards are good or not in Odd paladin. The point being that any change to a card could be considered to be both a nerf and a buff (or even neither) depending on personal value of the card itself.
So to swing back round to your thread point, the change to the cards are exactly that: changes. (Be them nerfs or buffs), so it would make logical sense to apply the same rules as those applied when any card is changed for the better or worse.
I run Spirit Bomb in my Wild Evenlock, so I could technically call that a nerf for that deck. I personally think it would be cool for them to lower the crafting cost to the disenchant cost for 2 weeks. That way, you don't get rewarded for having it already, but you get a chance to try these new changes for cheaper
People seriously upvoted this? It's a joke, it's not about 'entitlement' or other BS buzz words. It's just about realism. If a card is improved, undebatably improved, then you have no right to ask for a refund, nor Blizzard provide one. The idea is complete nonsense.
If you genuinely beleive you deserve dust for BUFFS, take all your future opinions on the game and throw them in the trash, the community here does not want to read another word of your shit.
Blizzard is simply following well-established policies in the industry. Over the past quarter-century, Wizards of the Coast has issued errata, banned or restricted hundreds of cards. Each time they've changed a card, or its legality, they've sent cheques in the mail to each of their customers, refunding their purchases. You also get a little letter of apology. Sometimes, they'll give you coupons for toiletries, or those tiny bottles of alcohol you can buy at the liquor store. They once gave me a pet hamster. I called him "Hammy." Nice guys, Wizards!
I've been playing MtG for almost 10 years now. This is all true...but I never received my hamster. I hope he didn't get lost in the mail O_o

same applies to buffs (Even paladins will lose a good drawing card), but the devs explicitly said that they will offer a dust refund, when the power level of a card has been lowered. So yeah...
[edit] Since I see many people, who call us entitled, I would like to say this: I really don't feel like I should ask for a dust refund simply because ... some cards ... are going to... get... stronger. But I was just supporting those people for the sake of the topic.
points at Hearthstone community: You will never find a more wretched hive of whining and entitlement.

Actually, they do.
All cards are balanced, but some cards are more balanced than others.

Not for the change. They gave the dust for moving it to the hall of fame. Disenchanting costs where still normal value (1/4th of crafting cost).
I agree, technically it is correct, though greedy from us to say something like that.
The goal of all life is death.

They should give out a few boomsday packs in my opinion around 10 free ones to give more to people who disenchanted those "bad" cards
It's true, keyword here is "modified", regardless is a nerf or a buff.

This is an entitled and ridiculous suggestion.
i think the better call is that they allow us to craft buffed cards with DE value (400 for legendaries 100 for epics and ... )

"There is no spoon"
The logic fail is assuming all cards should be treated the same after "modification" just because some are.
Bananas are yellow. Lemons are yellow. Therefore bananas are lemons - it doesn't work.
Blizzard gives compensation at their discretion and they get to make the rules.
Technically you are correct, but the devs won't give us any dust refund. I agree with many people, that nerfs can be subjective:
