I decided to give MtG:Arena a try last night and started getting into it. I wondered if any of you guys played it and wanted to get some friendly games to help get started and practice decks etc?
If you have no interest in MtG, or even dislike it, please ignore this post. No intention of starting a hate-train, or anything. But otherwise, feel free to PM me or post here if you fancy joining me for a game on there now and again.
Just looking for a break from the frustration that playing HS seems to bring at the moment.
Come try Autochess it's on mobile now - very addictive and fun ( zero credit card advantage)
I did give autochess a bit of a go a little while back. I think I was a little offput by the barrier to understanding what to do / learning curve. (I couldn't even figure out how to place a hero! Hahah! Yeah I really sucked at it). At some point, I am planning to watch one of Trump's (or someone else's) videos on how to play it to get a better understanding.
Yeah, I've been playing since the closed beta. I requested an invite as soon as I saw an announcement of the game. I played some MtG around 20 years ago and it's been nice to sort of come back to it. Although there are certainly aspects of the game that I don't enjoy that much, namely the mana system and its flaws. Or RDW. But limited is especially cool.
I'm playing MTG on paper, but I don't think online suits it. Without full control the opponent will know that you have an instant, but with it it's to slow with too many clicks. The shortcuts irl is what makes it superior to every other card game.

Yeah, I can understand this - one of the things I used to love the most about P&P MtG was beig able to hold onto cards and bluff the opponent into thinking you might have an instant answer. Hard to replicate that with the digital game, without making every turn take forever.
But I remember "roping" in Duals was commonplace and was huuuuugely more upsetting than it is in HS. :-)
I’ve been playing it for a few months now and absolutely love the game.(no previous magic exp) I’ve learned lots of things along the way and I’m willing to show you!
Also I’m not an native English speaker so..... bear with me.

Great stuff! Will add you next time I am on. I can't remember the # number on my username right now, but it's Scorpyon#?????
I also play MTG Arena and have not added any friends or played against anyone I 'know' because I tend to do my daily quests and bug out. Right now, the Planeswalker infestation of Standard is really oppressive to play 'fun' decks. If you want to be competitive in any capacity, you need to be running Mono Red Aggro or Planeswalker Control decks. There are a few outliers but every deck now is running multiple planeswalkers and if your deck cannot remove them, you will lose.
So my frustration has not been removed by playing both MTGA or HS. I guess I am doubling down on it instead. Ha.
I wouldn't mind adding people who aren't playing tier 1 decks and want to have fun playing rather than being a try hard. I am almost a Free to Play account ($5 bundle only) and I have a decent collection. But I do not have 4 of all the rare dual lands and make my own decks anyhow.
So yeah, PM me or I will do the same to you. Just know that if anyone who wants to add me ends up playing tier 1 decks, I will not get mad, I will simply remove you. If you want to do that, go play any other mode, not me.
BadHank#1556 (I don't have my MTGA arena on me at this time)
I suppose I am currently in that fortunate state of being a new player to it, therefore not getting into the whole ranked side yet and just exploring the decks I can build etc. I'm finding that (for the most part) all the decks I come across in standard unranked play seem to be fairly varied and more importantly interesting.

There a actually is Full Control in Arena. Shift+Ctrl toggles it and just Ctrl enables it only for the current/upcoming step. Bluffing is just as viable in online.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place. :-)

The goal of all life is death.
I love Hearthstone but I must admit I've got addicted to both MTG Arena and Gwent (yes, Gwent). I guess I needed a break from HS too...

I used to play original MtG many-many years ago, it was pretty fun for early 00's.

Lol - I'll double check later.
