I have completed only one run so far, but it was an absolute blast. I picked a passive treasure that just did some random stuff every game (the description said something like: sometimes gives random advice). This guy made my entire run more amusing than I could have ever anticipated. Sometimes he would summon a bunch of taunts out of nowhere, other times he would change the manacost of a 5 mana minion I had just drawn to 10, all while saying stupid stuff like 'let me adjust that manacost for you' or 'that's a great spell, let's cast it again!'. I can't wait to try out a whole bunch of other stuff in this adventure.
Other than that I'm also excited to try out Zayle, Shadow Cloak, especially the shuffle warlock deck, since I haven't been able to play that myself and it seems like a lot of fun. I'm a big fan of Whizbang the Wonderful but a downside of whizbang is that there are so many decks that it is pretty unlikely that you'll get one of the ones you really like to play. Zayle may offer less variety, but because of this you're more likely to get one of the decks you want (if there is one among the decks he offers).
In my opinion this adventure also offers a nice alternative to the usual preorder. I didn't preorder this expansion because I want to try to not spend as much as I used to on hearthstone, but this adventure allows me to get some additional packs for a fair price and additionally comes with some great pve content.
if it wasn't for blizz adding packs to the mode for the first time you beat it, i wouldn't have bought it. there's SOME new mechanics but it's mostly just the same thing we've gotten for free in the past. i'm not spending money on this and don't even know if i will bother buying the other wings with gold once i get bored of the first two wings.
I just completed both chapters. SO HERE'S THE REVIEW
The first chapter is super easy. You can totally win in 1 attempt, and there you go, 3 free packs. For the 2nd chapter, you can feel the difficulty curve going up, I'd say it's still much easier than a Dungeon Run run. Took me 3 tries, because I'm stupid. As a person who loved Dungeon Run, I enjoyed it.
Was it more 'creative' than its KnC dungeon run, and TWW monster hunt counterpart?
Slightly. You can adjust your deck in the friendly tavern, you can pick a starting deck including a random starting deck, you can choose one of the 3 alternate hero powers. So, the replayability is very high. BUT, personally I won't play this again after I complete everything.
Personally, I really want Zayle because it's cool. I've saved up gold seperately just for this adventure, so 2800 to me is okay.
Will you want to purchase the adventure with REAL money? Apparently, $19.99 also gets you 15 packs from the shop. It's expensive because the pre-order gives you a better deal. But is it really worth it? I think the price for the card packs is already absurd in the first place. If you want Zayle, 15 packs, 1 golden classic pack, some card backs, and a little bit of fun, for a price of what would normally get you 15 packs, there's nothing to stop you.

Petition for Jaina's boobs to return please. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I played some games with the Zayle decks in rank 4 and i won 6 out of 10 games. Having all golden decks is pretty fun aswell.
I will climb to 5 with it next season. Really good for players with a small collection who dont want to spend all their dust on one single deck and get bored of it.
I know they are not the best possible lists but i would say they are quite viable for such a gimmicky card.
This is just a cash grab.... the mode is just dungeon run. I really dont get why they have to milk the hearthstone playerbase... I guess the other IP's are failing miserably and they have to recoup their losses elsewhere but that's not our problem. Greedy blizzard is alienating the fanbase with these decisions. The golden legendary is absolutely pointless as most players already have crafted those decks as you can see by the numbers in HSreplay. Blizzard needs to focus on BALANCING the game and adding modes that players are actually asking for, no one asked for another dungeon run mode.
Well, I suppose everyone IS entitled to their own opinion. Mine happens to be that this adventure is pretty f-in fun! I've played the first wing through thrice now and every one of them has been completely different. Sure, the base format is "similar" to dungeon hunt rumbles, but that's as far as it goes. I can tell team 5 really tried to make something that stands out from previous adventures and they really did focus on replay-ability. I've only played through the other adventures to get the new cards and card back, then quit. Only to play for the occasional quest and concede. This is different, I already can't wait to try it again and again, just to see what other curve balls get thrown at me - good and bad. Now, I know for a fact I'm probably going to rage-quit heroic mode, but I'm a glutton for punishment (lookin' at you Chromaggus!) and I have no doubt this new adventure will provide exactly that, plus the Anomaly mode is new and is proving to be crazy af. Please do continue to be disappointed by this new adventure. It's because of salt lickers like yourself that motivate team 5 to come up with content like this that, I feel, the majority of us Hearthstoners absolutely love. So, thank you, kind player. Keep up the good work! :)
Why don't you make it clear? The dalaran heist is a scam.
So correct me if i am wrong but this content is somewhat very similar to kobold and catacombs and witchwood dungeon runs... well, tbh is the exact same thing but extended. And now you have to pay for the same i got for free to obtain 15 packs and useless legendary? fucking scam.
It's not a scam, it's an offer, a possibility. Whoever decides to buy the adventure knows exactly what they pay for.

as much as i dislike that we have to buy a slightly changed feature we got for free in the past, this isn't a scam. a ripoff most definitely since you really don't get close to the value you should for the money/gold. but this definitely isn't a scam. blizz would have to have promised us something and then not delivered. think aliens: colonial marines. that game was a scam.
I was really excited to play this new game mode but I was really let down. The game mode is just a dungeon run 2.0 with very little innovation.
You must not have played pass first boss or two, otherwise you wouldnt say this.
Yes, the spirit of the PVE is similar to Dungeon Run and Monster Hunt ... which is a good thing! But there are clear differences in how you build your deck. Inkeeper thingy, different starting decks and hero powers can lead you into a different archetype and also the starting condition that will be expanded upon with Anomaly Mode.
While i can see why you would call it Dungeon Run 2.0, it is not fair to say so and even if, like i said, it is a good thing, since that mode itself was amazing. They r just building on a succesful base, nothing wrong with that.

Well, they promised that after every expansion counting from KoFT we get a free single player content. Did you remember the adventures before standard came out? Same prize and same wings as dalaran heist but you would obtain ALL the cards printed for this adventure. So this remind me to the old adventures but shitty becauce you don't get useful cards, just random cards from packs and uselesss legendary. Come on, try to refute my post :D
I didn't buy it because I want to see all the content to make my decision. I completed free wing on both normal and heroic first try. This AI feels like it barely improved over the years which makes it really disappointing. I froze the enemy board with 7 minions and one of them being auctioneer, so boss played all of the coins he had, eventually burning through all of them and skipping turn at 10 mana, just few cards short of fatigue. If you are actually defending this maybe you need to have more expectations. As for me, I don't really care either way, it's not my money being thrown at this imitation of a boss fight.
Just finished chapter 1 and I actually thought it was ok. Not sure if I’ll buy the other 4 chapters but it was definitely more fun then playing endless rogue/warrior mindless net deckers
I realy cant understand the whole negativity about the new content right now. Why would you trashtalk it anyways, if you dislike the rewards, the content or blizzards overall pricing strategy, simply dont buy the content, they aren`t forcing you and you basically lose nothing but the experience if you don`t buy it. You can try the first wing for free and if you don`t like it, you can simply stop playing it. Calling it a "cashgrab" or "scam" is just ridiculous to me. They are charging 20$ for the content, considering the rewards, you are getting the PVE content + the golden pack and cardback basically for free. Oh, and dont forget about Zayle, which is an awesome addition for newer players and people with a smaller card collection. The decks are pretty much semi-competetive and might be helpful for everyone who wants to try certain archetypes before investing further ressources in order to craft those decks. I mean what kind of rewards would you expect otherwise that still would be fair?
Some people are trying to compare the new adventure to the old ones (naxx/loe/brm) when it comes to rewards. I must admit that i liked the old ones quite a lot, even from a storytelling perspective and the rewards were pretty neat too at that time. But i think its way more fair and balanced the way it is now. Just imagine giving cards on the level of Thaurissan/Kel`Thuzad/Sludge Belcher/Reno to people that are willing to pay extra money. Im pretty sure tons of people, maybe even the ones that are complaining now as well, would be very upset about the fact, that Blizz would hide such strongs cards behind a paywall and would basically force the players to buy the solo content in order to stay ahead in the meta.
And lastly an advice for all those people that are complaining about the fact, that the PVE contents from earlier were free and that this one costs money: Instead of complaining maybe appreciate that you got so much content for free in the past and keep in mind that Blizzard - no matter how much you like or dislike the content - put a lot of work and effort into the current PVE content and obviously wants to earn money as well.
I mean chapter 1 was easier than monster hunt, which was a breeze, but this single experience is an experiment in configuration. Plus they did add heroic so maybe thats where the challenge is.

yeah i agree
its just a dungeon run
i wish at least there was more reward and the legendary was dissenchantable

this really is a ripoff money wise.

I'm enjoying it very much. It's the best SP content that HS has ever had. People will whine about everything, even when it's free.
congratulations. you are a person who is enjoying the content. not everyone is. deal with it.
What? did you ever play dr.boom adventure? That was really good. Dungeon runs are meh overall.
I played some games with the Zayle decks in rank 4 and i won 6 out of 10 games. Having all golden decks is pretty fun aswell.

I just wish they would give 20g whenever you finished 8 bosses run for the sake of replayability.
Unlocking new hero powers is cool and all but its not gonna make me replay runs just to unlock them.
With that said, its more fun than other dungeons/adventures
