I seem to be stuck on rank 15... I have a decent standard-issue mech/bomber hunter deck, which got crushed by frost mage, so I created a frost mage deck and play that for a bit, won a handful, lost a handful... that deck was getting crushed by lazul/nomi priest. So I created a lazul/nomi priest deck, which started getting wrecked by mech/bomber hunter. It's a vicious cycle and I dunno how you guys deal with it. :| I guess just don't be bad at the game and keep climbing the ladder, lol. Maybe I'm switching decks too much? Gah.
Take a breather, don’t play tilted, choose a tier 1 or 2 deck you enjoy and get good with that deck. Sometimes you just get a run of bad games. Happens.
Been there. But I never played tier 1 decks. Was so tired and exhausted. So I switched to wild last year and never regretted. Looks like I learned how to play there, in Wild. Yet never took legend, but r5 in both wild or standard every season.
Don't keep switching decks every other game, people never get good at playing a deck because they keep switching as soon as they start losing so they never get to now the ins and out of their decks so they keep losing on basic things like mulligans and general piloting against other specific decks and then blame it on bad luck, RNG and getting nut drawn (Which are factors but for sure are less prominent that you would think). The best advice anyone can give you is just to stick to a good deck and actually learn it, of course at first your winrate is not gonna be the best possible but that's the way to learn anything, first you suck and then you start to get progressivvely better.
Any of the 3 decks you mentioned are either tier 1 or high tier 2 so the decks are definitely not the problem, all the decks are fine to climb to top 1 legend so again, they are not the issue, and I highly doubt you're queueing nothing but unfavorable every time you switch it's statistically very unlikely so just stick to a deck. Don't know how experienced you are but the hunter is by far the easiest deck and also the most solid one, after that the mage is very solid but it takes some time to get used to, finally nomi priest is arguably the best deck atm but it has an insane learning curve, it even takes pros a couple weeks to start seing consistent results with it.
Also don't switch to decks that just beat you. That's never going to work, especially if you play on frustrated.
Pick a deck and try teching it for the current Meta Bubble you are in. For example, if you face a lot of Token Druids throw in a Mossy Horror or a Batterhead for a Sweeper.
There are always Meta Bubbles wherever you play. The key to climbing higher is to read these Bubbles and playing against them.
That's why people complain about some Decks that are featured on the Front Page of sites like this. "Top 100 Legend! Easy!". Yeah. At Top 100 Legend its easy. But at Rank 4? It's Trash. Because The Meta at that level of Play is totally different to other Ranks.
I agree with those who said not to switch decks, stay on the mech hunter and tech it. So if frost mage is the issue, play aggressive and widen your board; Spider Bomb and Venomizer are valuable tools, consider adding a Deadly Shot and or Unseen Saboteur and or Mojomaster Zihi
If you're sure that a certain deck is very prevalent around your rank, go to HSReplay and look at that deck's matchups. Choose a Tier 1/2 that hard counters it and run that.

The matchmaking always seemed rigger to change the matchups based on the deck you play (we just cannot prove it yet). My suggestion is to play something else (there are some new games out there that you may like - battle brothers, thea 2, etc)

you cannot prove it because there's is no logic behind it you dumbo.
if you always get rigged matchups, other players must always get perfect matchups. and that is absolutely not true.
Don't force yourself to play games; find a deck you enjoy and the inclination to play games will naturally come. As long as you play enough games with even semi-competitive decks, it's really really hard to suck enough to not be able to climb
Triharding and trying to counter people is just plain wrong unless you're top 500 legend

When you play against a deck and playing a deck yourself are very different experiences. You learn that every deck in the meta has strong counters, and maybe even how bad matchups can still be won.
You obviously change too much. If you are not a super hardcore player, I think 2 different tier 1-2 archetypes with some minior tech changes each are enough. Otherwise you will not know all the matchups well enough to get a good winrate.
Thanks a ton you guys, super helpful stuff, I appreciate it! I guess I was going about it all wrong by playing "musical decks" in the never-ending quest for "the one deck to rule them all". :D I'm an okay player, highest I've hit is rank 9 or 10. I'm just no good at building decks though... I struggle w/ deciding what to tech out and whatnot. Very true about the "TOP 10 LEGEND" decks being no good around rank 15 etc! Anyway thanks again. Back to it!
I needed 20+ games over a few days with a Secret Beast Hunter deck last week to finally get its matchups, little interactions that make a difference, power spikes and vulnerabilities. You can read as much as you want about those things, but it's really in practice that you'll see it.
Nomi Priest, for example, is an extremely hard deck to play even by pros. I would go with something else.
Some decks are easier to navigate through, but understanding the little nuances that actually decide harder games will take time and practice.
On the other hand, if you feel a deck is really not working for you, switch to another, but do take some time before changing yet again. Depending on your time (and budget) you may end up knowing more decks really well and will be able to switch to them without much problems as you see fit.
But to get to this point you do need time with them.
ALSO, keep in mind that the fist 2 weeks are usually harder to climb. Every month i get to rank 5 (from rank 10) in the last weekend easier than the previous weeks. Other thing that works for me is playing low ranks in wild just to keep things fresh with fun to play decks so i don't start to hate the game.

Good call, thanks for that! Time for some Game of Thrones methinks! :D
Control Shaman or Big Shaman will get you to rank 5 every season of this expansion.

Pick a tier 1/2 deck and never switch. Rogue is best for speed climb. Control Warrior is a slower climb but will win a lot.

It's not really worth engaging with people like that lidl_wayne. The Tinfoil is strong with that one mate.

know your matchups and your win condition on every matchup play around opponent's cards, plan for worst case.

Don't switch decks that often.
