Yes yes yes. Lets nerf Mechwarper while we at it, Kazakus now requires 3 copies of a card in your deck to activate, Reno heals only 15 now and Baku/Genn decks just force you to press concede if you play them. While we at it lets nerf all Giants and add +10 cost to all of them. Kingsbane now gives your opponent 2 copes of Ooze. Give all murlocs the Battlecry: deal 5 damage to yourself because me no likey playing against strong cards.
I would maybe see the Big Priest nerf because highroll archetype is annoying af, but haven't Jade Druid suffered enough honestly? Those poor fellas are conceding against Skulking Geist 100% of the time and yet you want to nerf them again.
Can't we just play cards in an Eternal format called Wild and rather explore all the combo and deck and build possibilities rather than whining and "fixing" it?
are you implying that big priest is not a problem? I don't play wild anymore, but I used to, and let me tell you, big priest is the worst deck ever. it is not that it wins every game and therefore is the worst deck. but the outcome of the game is decided by whether or not they draw barnes. if they can get barnes on 4, then they win and there is nothing you can do unless you happen to be playing mage or shaman and happen to have a polymorph, hex, or devolve. it is the worst deck because it is very one sided no matter what. it is either they win hands down, or you win because they had nothing until turn 8.
this deck needs to be fixed, and your snarky comments about how you don't like nerfs will not change that.

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Besides the known ways to nerf Big Priest (raise mana, change graveyard effects etc.), how about this?
Shadow Essence: Put a minion from your deck into the battlefield. Make it 4/4. (This way, no chance to play from hand and vulnerable to transform effects more)
I'm not sure if this idea was stated previously, but this is what I came up with, as a new solution. (Maybe?)
yeah, lets let big priests have 3 barnes. that will definitely hurt them. . .

Yes. I am implying that Big Priest is not a problem for an eternal format where you can be dead on turn 3 because of aggro highroll. Outcome of the game is decided not only by Barnes, but also because of your deck choice and draw overall. Yes it feels disgusting to lose against, the same way how it is disgusting to lose against Mechahunter,Kinsgbane,Thekal Giants or Evenlock that puts fat minions as fast as almost Nagalock and dont let me start on Darkest Hourlock. When I feel especially bad playing against them, I just pick a deck that counters them and I counter them. Big Priest gets obliterrated by KIngsbane or is dragged into 20+ minute game against Reno Mage where he's actually forced to think if he wants a chance to win, Mechahunter gets his board cleared by Renolock over and over and Evenlock is burning his cards because of Mill Rogue and so on and on. Every deck in Wild that is at least somehow viable have disgusting comboes. So disgusting that it cant be compared to Standard powerlevel. People need to realise that and deal with that. I like Wild the way it is. Big Priest is nothing compared to Star Aligner Druid days and its currently just another highroll deck slowly devolving into being succesfull only as anti control deck.
Imma just add a bonus mindset about Wild that I have in order for you to understand my point of view:
Once people will stop treating Wild as something where they can play Golden Monkey Control Warrior for nostalgia and try to experiment with cards more and play better, then they will realise in how much better state the format is compared to Standard. Yes, it is the double edged sword with Big Priest and Kingsbane and Odd Paladin but I like the other edge which makes the format exciting. The place where I can play Weasel Priest,Renowock Shaman or Big Rogue sprinkled on top with old nostaslgic and rebuilt and actually powerfull decks such as Reno Mage or Dragon Control Priest. Knowing that every dust investment that i make doesnt rotate anywhere is actually pretty good feeling which still keeps me in this game.
I don't see why creating a "Graveyard" mechanic would be that difficult. The program already keeps track of the minions that have died. Graveyard effects would alter the list.
With a Graveyard mechanic, resurrections would draw from a unique pool of cards in the graveyard, which would depleted as the cards are re-summoned. You would only be able to get back one Archmage Vargoth from the graveyard at a time, unless you've managed to make a copy of him. Catrina would summon cards from your graveyard, which wouldn't come back until they've been killed again, etc.
There is no tech that deals directly with the resurrection mechanic, but creating a Graveyard keyword would allow for it. It seems like a natural innovation for Hearthstone. There are a lot of possibilities, such as summoning minions from your opponent's Graveyard.
Be honest, blizz doesnt give a crap about wild and even if they did i dont think wild can have a meta. Ive said this soooo many times, we need a new mode, just like the new arena that has random sets and rotates monthly or so ( i dont know how long the arena rotates ) but the new mode should change monthly imo. Wild is too much of a clown fiesta which is fine but a new mode is needed, it would be perfect to have them 3: a all the way mode = wild, mid term mode = new mode that rotates monthly & standard = most recent sets
Yes. I am implying that Big Priest is not a problem for an eternal format
Mind you, I read the rest. Therefore, I don't agree with you. How can you defend decks -including Darkest Hour Warlock- where one can cheat out more than 10-mana worthy minions on turn 4? Are you out of mind? To me, mana-mechanisms are core of this game, and if exploited, everything will break up (compare Recruit, which is on the scale, at least to my eyes), and you defend these decks by only playing Kingsbane or Reno Mage to beat them? What if I don't want to play them? (Don't tell me I don't care, so same to you then, no offense)
Simply put, I like playing minions on-curve with some exceptions (Evenlock: Mountain Giant) but not as abusive as Big Priest or Darkest Hour decks where it's like 50-mana worthy minions on turn 4 and have literally nothing to counter (and yes, I consider transform effects as inefficient, and I know cards such as Hungry Dragon). In other words, if we are on turn 4, it should be limited to 4-mana minion (on-curve mechanic), which is what we usually do, is it really too much to ask for?
Blizz said several times they were watching Barnes and recently they are watching bloodbloom as well. Expect both cards to get a +2 mana bump and maybe they also nerf voidcaller to 5 mana.

Mana mechanisms are core to any card game and in any card game they can be exploited and are exploited. I do not defend those decks. I just know that they exist and I'm okay with that since I'm not type of a person thats gonna scream or cry about something that I don't like. Yes, they are annoying to play against but they are managenable and they have counters. Sometimes, those counters are limited to classes only but thats okay because even in Wild there is still some class design policy (Although we are already seeing stuff like Aggro Heal Zoo Priest popping up). Thats how card games work and we are lucky thast we also have some sort of neutral card counters(Doomsayer,Explosive Sheep,Tinkmaster,Geist and so on) Do you want to play a deck that is rounded against everything? Try Reno or some other odd Control deck (ofc if its played in good hands) But if you wont then deal with the fact that your deck will loose to some matchups as I'm dealing with it since I know how much variety Wild has.
Where do you make a line with a minions on curve mindset? Even if Big Priest and Darkest Hour Warlock are going to be nerfed to Tier 6 deck, we have still Thekal combo,Mechwarper,Murloc Shaman,Even Shaman,Cube decks,Egg decks and so on. Even if those decks got nerfed, I think that you as many other players will just move to hate other powerhouse created. Baku/Genn can be called out as too consistent, Reno is too powerfull heal and Kazakus is unfair af since it is more flexible than any other cards in the game, DKs are close to infinite value,Kingsbane cant be countered with Oozes but only slowed down,Anyfin Paladin is an aggro, control, combo abomination and so on and on and on. I can complain about any card or mechanic in the game yet I'm not doing even if I dont like to play against it.

Lethal by highroll by turn-3 can only happen if they decide to release more UNNECESSARILY BROKEN cards. Which is the same reason Big Priest exists. Or Darkest Hour Warlock.
Unnecessarily for the fun of the game, and actually against it (with the exception of the players behind these decks, who are a relative majoriy, so a critical mass, but not an absolute majority that can justify "fun" on its own).
Surely High Priest Thekal + Molten Giant is very similar to the above brokenness (and I don't like it either), but it's not much different from Mountain Giant on turn-3 (it's more, sure, but it's "just" stats), and requires 2-3 cards to be in the hand of the paladin together, by said turn. Additionally, they cannot resurrect those giants. So that's VERY powerful for current levels, annoying, but not equally broken. Because it is a spike in the game, not an entire fracture in the mana curve.
An eternal format DOES NOT IMPLY utter madness as that you suggested. As long as they keep designing cards according to a decent design policy (or as long as they stop printing unnecessarily broken cards).
It is not a matter of mindset. It is a matter of how many players you want to have in the pool on the long run...

You are right that you don't cry for something you don't like, which makes you different from people asking "OP, please nerf X!", in which I respect that. Also, I agree with whole statement in 1st paragraph since I know variety of decks. I am also an avid Reno deck creator, so I know what you mean. However, if they make "another powerhouse" similar to "Big Priest", I will complain anytime because no other deck can summon more than 10-mana worthy minions on turn 4 and beyond endlessly. Thekal Giants can do this only once, Evenlock can do it only once (Mountain Giant). Hope I was clear. So, don't mix me with other players that tend to hate other powerhouse deck, such as Mech Hunter/Murloc Shaman/Cubelock to name a few. Some cards in these decks might be problematic, but not as much as Big Priest or Darkest Hour decks. In short, I like variety of decks like you, and it's up to Blizzard in the end if they want to fix them, starting with Big Priest/Darkest Hour decks.
Lethal by highroll by turn-3 can only happen if they decide to release more UNNECESSARILY BROKEN cards. Which is the same reason Big Priest exists. Or Darkest Hour Warlock.

Man we are carrying the same dicsussions over and over in a different threads. Lets just agree to disagree. Eternal format applies utter madness and you should look at older card games if you want proof. It's not something that can't be changed even with a milions and milions of nerfs. Speaking about design policy for WIld is also not a good decision since we already have Aggro Priest archetype lurking here or Burgle Rogues with healing and Control tools. And the final conclusion: Blizzard doesnt care about Wild at all. It's the polace where they move their cards to gain profit from players buying new expansions and few nerfs doesn't mean anything if we are running around with all sorts of madness currently. Also I dont want them to handle Big Priest or other deck like they handled Star Aligner Druid because that was just disasterous.

I want them to handle Big Priest as they handled Star Aligner Druid because it's equally broken/degenerate and it's necessary to grant Wild some dignity, and consequently some decent playerbase.
I don't want the mode to turn into a hardcore highroll-meme underground subculture. It is not an inevitable or necessary evolution of Wild, as you depict it.
Aggro Priest is just another Aggro deck, and Cutlass Rogue is potentially just another Control deck. Nothing's wrong with that.
What is degenerate is anything that can shatter the mana curve consistently enough, in any way (be it summon from deck or whatever). I made a topic about it, and that's the only policy that they should strictly follow.
Fine let's agree to disagree. But don't expect i'll stay silent whenever you write something on the topic.
It's a public forum, and it's my right to publicly argue with any point, exactly as it was yours to reply as you did.
As long as we are doing it politely and meaningfully...
No because big priest ruins wild, and the only way to beat it consistently is to play something equally degenerate, which isn't fun. You probably play big priest.
Sooooo after you “fix” Big Priest, will the next thread be about how to “fix” the Wild Control Decks? Because that’s every other thread about Standard currently.
No because big priest ruins wild, and the only way to beat it consistently is to play something equally degenerate, which isn't fun. You probably play big priest.

You can probably counter the deck by adding new cards, for example : 2/2 cost 2 : "battlecry : shuffle an acolyte of pain in each player deck"

In short, I like variety of decks like you, and it's up to Blizzard in the end if they want to fix them, starting with Big Priest/Darkest Hour decks.

Nerf to oblivion the only winpossitive priest deck, what could go wrong?
Except for dragon priest (tier 1), control priest (tier 2) and razakus priest (tier 2/3).
Absolutely nothing, that's what can go wrong.
Those decks dont even win 30% of the games.
No because big priest ruins wild, and the only way to beat it consistently is to play something equally degenerate, which isn't fun. You probably play big priest.
Hsreplay, viciousSyndicate and Tempostorm disagree.
No need to blame being a terribad big priest player on decks that require at least 2 iq digits to play.
Cuz Control Warrior is busted?
Fun is subjective and you hurr durr you probalby play Big Priest is pathetic. Just to clarify Im judging you the same way how you judge me. By 1 post under a thread in forum dedicated to HS xDDD
