Bigest problem is that players take this game so seriously ... Its just a game they forgot IT and i really dont understand what they have from bigger ranks... I prefer fun sorry...
More dust, and a feeling of achievement. Not dumber than feeling proud of finishing a crosswords puzzle or stuff like that.

And what is All about ? Dust achievment Jesus :P play aggro All day and not enjoying the game
So good players would probably be something like rank 10 and up.
Thinking that you're only good if you can hit top 200 legend or something like that is ridiculous gatekeeping. Or you have a strange definition of good, if it only applies to ~0.1% of people.

Why are you talking about aggro.
I made it to legend with bomb warrior last month, I'm quite happy with it.
If you prefer to play in casual or arena that's fine as well.
exactly what you said aggro or repeating metadecks when you play... that is not fun to me... i got you ok but for me its just non sense pushing throught ranks better is playing your own deck... it is game it is for fun 95% players who reach higher ranks legend had nothing from it... it just like you said achievment :D its sad :D
I wouldnt say just because your legend your "good" it just means you played a ton of games in a mere 30 days to get there. I consider myself an above average player, best I ever got was rank 5.. could've got to legend from there but never had the time nor patience to get there, I work alot.. sue me

You just need 20 wins. I make it to legend while playing on my phone on my commute to work. 2 or 3 games a day is sufficient.

Sure, you can be average and grind legend with a 51% winrate, but you can also just find the right deck and git gud. I got to legend in march, started at 5 and got there in less than 50 games. Sue me.
I have finished top 300 legend a number of times and managed to get legend on 4 accounts in the same month and don't consider myself a good player. If you can finish top 100 consistently then you're a good player. If you hit legend regularly then you're certainly better than average but the indicator is more how quickly you hit legend. If you can get from rank 5 to legend with a good win rate especially within the first week of a new season then you are beating a lot of the better players out there and thus could consider yourself playing well
People that say it's just a grind to hit legend are probably hitting legend in the last week with a low 50's% win rate and that is not too difficult for a lot of players.
Good players don't consider hitting legend a grind as it doesn't take a lot of games or time to do it

I just hit legend for the third time ever (I've been playing since GvG) but this is the first time I've made it to legend in back to back months. Looks like I'm gonna finish somewhere in the 3000's. Now I know that's not the BEST, and far from the top, but would I be considered a "good" player? What, in your opinion, is a good rank?
(Also, there are many different skill levels here on this forum, so don't be jerks to each other. Just thought it'd be a fun discussion to find out what people consider to be good.)
Well that depends on how u define a good player. I define a good player compaired to my own skill level, i wouldnt say i meet alot of good players until top 1000 legend, until then there are simply to many missplays and bad deck building choices. I know most the pros dont think there are any good players before top 100 legend, so u can only define that compaired to your own level, some will say getting rank 5 makes u a good player.
I hit rank 5 for the first time this last season (hit rank 6 a few times before), but I've found it's as much about time as it is about skill or running a top-performing deck.
I believe I'd be able to reach legend if I didn't have a wife and kid, but I've been working on keeping my rank as high as possible, so I might make a push this month if I get a little extra time in.
That being said, I don't think "good" is an easily quantifiable thing here. I think there are plenty of excellent players that never hit legend, or even rank 5, yet they consistently outplay their opponents. There are loads of players that get carried by tier 1 (or tier S when things are completely broken) decks all the way to legend, but the players themselves possibly aren't any better than people you'd encounter at rank 10.
Also, I think concerning yourself with this kind of stuff can lead to a tryhard attitude, which sucks to encounter since they will not shut up about "Git güd" "netdecking is for noobs" "if you don't hit rank 5 you suck" "everyone should reach X rank" and so on. Stick to enjoying the game and trying to do better than the season before, and you'll improve while remaining someone who not only enjoys Hearthstone, but is enjoyable to play against.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
For me its also collection dependent i believe that from rank 15 upwards you need a fully optimized deck with no compromises or substitutions.
So for me the real skill level is 15 upwards as at this point every deck has all the cards and is top of that classes tier list. Its then to how you pilot it that moves up the ranks.
At rank 10 you need to start teching and modding your deck, do you need two oozes etc (is murloc shaman the right deck today) so players who make those decisions are good that hmm lots of murlocs today ill just drop an ooze and add a crab decision.
At rank 5 i think mulligan is the key.
Forr me the real barrier at much higher level is time.
That is so wrong. There’s plenty of bad budget decks at rank 15. You don’t need a fully optimized deck to fly through these ranks

I only consider someone a good player if they can hit #1 Legend with Whizbang on all three regions simultaneously. Oh, and you have to move your mouse to your off hand.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think reaching rank 5 qualifies you as a good player. You start to see fully optimized T1 decks at rank 10, but what differentiates rank 5 is the need to play around relevant cards, plan ahead, understand your deck, etc. I consistently reach rank 5 for the golden epic, then meme around for the rest of the month.

If you don't, you know, suck balls at this game you can get rank 5 easily in a months time. Also spoiler: there are more decks out there than aggro! ;)
There's a lot criteria can apply to define a good player, umm, for me I would say players that can deal with stress and progress to the Legend rank are all definitely good players.

I would rank by percentiles, like this
Bad = bottom 20% of players
Below average = bottom 40%
average = top 60%
Above average = top 40%
Good = top 20%
Vergy good/competitive ≈ top 1%
So good players would probably be something like rank 10 and up.
