I mainly play paladin, rogue and hunter. I have the most important legendaries for each class so i was able to craft one deck for each class (mech paladin, secret paladin, tempo rogue, midrange hunter and mech hunter). I'm becoming quite good at the game and managed to hit legend a few times. I want to try some battlefy online tournaments. However i don't have any dust left so i can't craft the cards or legendaries needed for the secondary/tertiary decks. I have some legendaries from other classes but i don't have any other cards in the 6 other classes. Would it be ok to dust these legendaries even if they are good ones (khadgar, catrina muerte for instance) to gather the dust to craft some cards for my other decks?
You don't want to dust anything from the current standard as you might end up opening it again, but dust away on the older legendaries.
I don't play the other classes at all since i don't have any cards in these classes. I want to try the tournaments but some cards needed are very expensive for the side decks and i don't have any dust left that's why i wanted to dust the legendaries i don't use. Should i stick with midrange hunter and try to compete with it since the side cards are very cheap?
I used to do this. I focussed on playing Paladin, Priest, Warlock, Druid and Shaman. I dusted cards from other classes so that I could support my main classes. However, you never know how the meta might change, and I ran into some Metas where the most viable classes were the ones that I didn't play. It's also a limit on your fun, because there really is something joyous about experimenting with all classes. Furthermore, playing all classes makes you a better player in general. To really know a class/deck, you have to be that class/deck (sounds like something Sun Tsu said.)
If you must dust, try to do it with cards that have no hope of ever being good. Like Grul or Milhouse.

Fair point. It took me 5 month to have enough dust to craft those decks. I don't think i'll be patient enough to gather the dust needed to craft one deck in the other classes. But not dusting any legendaries is the best thing to do for sure.

No. Never a good idea. 400 dust for a good legendary is a bad deal.

I would say no.

Mmmmmmm.... Shadowy thoughts.
