tbh I didn't think about it completly replacing SW:pain cause it't way more flexible but at the same time it's less flexible in that it's the last thing you do on your turn manawise
It's not Entomb level but yeah, I agree with Kripp on this one. I don't see a reason not to play this card in priest, unless you have deck building restrictions.
I'm sorry, but spending 8 mana to remove a giant or similar, when I could do it for 3 Mana doesn't seem "super strong".
Sure, it's more flexible and you basically need only one slot where formerly both "shadow word" removals were placed, but I'm still not convinced that the high cost for big removals is justified.
And I really think that the "only playable at end of turn" - issue is a huge problem. (in many cases you might want to cast something else AFTER removing a big threat)

Well, it's less "Pay 8 mana to kill a Giant" and more "Have a card capable of killing a Giant instead of a completely dead 2-mana spell that never has any targets ever". You don't run Forbidden Words instead of Death, you run it instead of Pain. It can do pretty much everything Pain can at the same mana cost, and is also way more flexible if need be.

Yup, pain has been powercreeped for the next two years in standard and forever in wild. Renopriests just gained another removal and big priests can remove your 4 attack stuff too.

The appeal of this card in standard is that without Shadow Visions, Priest loses a lot of flexibility and running cards that can do multiple things (in this case, this card can function as death or pain depending on the situation) helps to mitigate that problem, even if they are less efficient. In wild you have Shadow Visions that can fish out pain if need, so Reno Priest can maybe run this but definitely not Big Priest.

I can't run pain with keleseth(in wild) anyway so this card will function as pain or death. In big priest, I am not wasting shadow vision to fish pain when I can fish an additional board clear or diamond spellstone. I will have to cut pains to make room for forbidden words, and will be glad to do so. You can remove 4 attack minions, so priest has a major gap filled now.
He mentioned how 0 mana spells are extremely powerful, a point he again referred to when giving Lazul's Scheme 5 stars, but Forbidden cards are not true 0 mana cards, more like X mana. I'm not sure why he thinks this card is more powerful because it has a 0 in the card cost.
Forbidden words is insanely powerful for exactly one reason (though flexibly replacing Pain is certainly relevant): it gives priest a way to overcome their greatest "achilles-heel" ever in the history of the game: 4-attack minions.
Now there is literally nothing they can't remove; and that by itself is VERY scary to any other class, especially given how much priest is pushed into being a controlling class. If they want, they can have 6 hard removals in their deck, plus any board wipes (like Mass Hysteria). And all those dragons that are meant to dodge removal because of their 4/12 statline? They are now very much on the chopping block just because of Forbidden Words alone.
Kripparian, jizzarian said its insane :D!! 1 card that destroys big and small minions and it costs 0 mana!!!

ok..

And we care why?

I don't see anyone running this card unless there is some insane 4 attack minion that is crushing the meta like Obsidian Statue
Cause this is a forum for hearthstone. Anything hearthstone related can be discussed here? You make zero sense to me
Are you going to make a new thread everytime a streamer thinks something?
Well, we are in the Year of the Dragon and The Lich King is gone: I think fair guesses will be Kalecgos, Malygos, Twilight Drake and Ysera just to say some. Moreover, we haven't seen all the new cards, so there will surely be at least another great minion with 4 attack that will justify Forbidden Words
can't even kill Deathwing, trash card :^)
I tried having fun once. It was awful.

good point
Of course this card is good.
