By the way, why did actually Omega Defender's artwork get changed?
People complained about the art clearly being a Mech (as seen in Mekgineer Thermaplugg being a small gnome in a giant mech counting as a mech) and so they changed the art of Omega Defender to focus more on the goblin inside of it instead of the giant mech suit. Granted, this just caused a bunch of people to complain about "WhY nOt JuSt MaKe Omega Defender a MeCh" despite it not really changing anything either way.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
I thought you meant the word "Shadows" in the "Rise of Shadows" logo. In which case, yes, it looks poorly shopped. Otherwise, no, everything so far is fine.

You know what, I didn't get that vibe from the logo. To me it looks just as whimsical as the rest of them.
Rise of Shadows has this "oh crap I forgot to write that essay let me do it on the bus" look to me. The live videos are not HD, for example, and the latest flag was that they recycled the (albeit unused) artwork from Omega Defender. For the latter, I totally understand the desire to up-cycle an existing resource, so as not to waste effort(s) and cut a corner or two. It's there, use it -- fine.
Another thing is that they are taking characters and ideas that already exist and recycling them. The "bad guys" are all from previous expansions. Instead of creating a new story they borrowed from everything prior. It just seems like it's lacking that "one hundred and ten percent" caliber of effort. You know what I mean?
I've noticed little things like this since Ben left. Is anyone else noticing these drop-in-quality breadcrumbs?
EDIT: My comments above are 90% about presentation 10% about recycled mechanics. I don't demand that nothing be old and everything be new. I do however think that quality is key.
I agree 100% with you and stated that lazyness in other posts. Twinspell is a branch of echo. The evil characters are ok but why exisiting and a just rotating ones? Also why reprint same card names over and over (hagatha now), dr.boom will have a 3rd card?
Like the warcraft lore is full of characters! The Defias brotherhood could have made an evil league!
Which videos you are talking about ? All the RoS videos on their YouTube are Full HD 1080p.
They were saved and uploaded in 1080p, yes, but the the live action segments are obviously not HD video. They are blurry and grainy and sub par. The animated bits are however HD.
Its just you man. I love the idea of a group of bad guys leading an expansion, and I'm very excited to see what cards they come up with. I'm already more than happy with Kalecos, Swampqueen Hagatha, Arch Thief Rafaam, and Omega Devastator. They've done a very good job keeping the villain legendaries faithful to the original character (Hagatha still revolves around spells, and Rafaam is pretty much the Golden Monkey card from LoE).
TBH, I think, more than anything else, Blizzard is doing what Blizzard does best - building lore. With using previous characters we have equity built in to them. We understand them and feel a tug of emotion towards them. Maybe not all of them yet, however in time I believe that these characters can endear themselves to us just like in WOW and Overwatch. It's building a rich story that is important and Blizzard is top notch at that
Nothing wrong in using old materiale, but for me characters like Dr. Boom, Hagatha and Togwaggle could have come back next year or at the end of the year. I would I loved to see some old characters come back - Brann, Reno, Kel'thuzad or Nerfarien would have been good candidates.
THey are doing well,
consider that maybe they will create a cool story trought the next 4 expac Or at least i hope they will create a cool collegate lore

I hope this doesn't count as bashing, but I think it's super weird to worry about the video quality of promos and to pass judgment on the game based on something you looked at once and will never see again after the expansion drops.
That just seems like deeply messed-up priorities to me.
On the topic of revisiting old mechanics: One of the things about HS that has always been slightly irritating is that a new expansion comes out and some keywords (such as echo) or 'cycles' (such as unidentified ****) are introduced and never revisited. This is especially annoying because 9/10 times most of the cards that use the mechanics are either broken and unfun or too weak to play in any deck, this is obviously because it is the first time the mechanic has been brought to the game and balancing is difficult when you can only do so much play testing. By coming back to these mechanics they can reintroduce them with a better understanding of how to balance them making them hopefully more fun to use. Unfortunately this 'callback card' idea seems to be for this expansion only and only for a very limited number of cards, I hope they find excuses to keep doing it though.
Keep in mind we have less than 20 cards revealed. Only 11% of the expansions been shown.
My comments are about the quality of presentation. Not what's printed on the revealed cards. I know not to judge an expansion until at least 3 weeks after it's been released, and by then any of the original gripes have passed.
oh. Well I liked the trailers and thought they looked cool. But it was handled horribly.
There were too many teasers, we knew what has happening after the second one so all surprise was gone. Card reveals are weirdly done too.

If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.
I agree 100% It is SOOOOOO super obvious they are being lazy. Infact, I don’t understand how so many people are defending blizzard. They do shady shit all the time. Especially recently. Yeah you could say that’s just activision blizzard. But literally kobolds and catacombs felt so much more fun and ALIVE than the sets that came afterward. You could actually tell they had fun making that set! I personally think something DID change when brode left. Ever since then they seem to just dish out mediocre garbage. ALOT of unimaginative cards are being printed more than ever before. I mean Printing the golden monkeys effect A THIRD FREAKING TIME??? Everyone saying these new expansions are fine and dandy are gullible as fuck

Can't wait to see Dr. Boom's card.
I actually love the fact that they are using old characters and mechanics. It has a nice nostalgic feel for me.

Leper Gnome
Already used
I personally would love to see some stuff using old mechanics... Inspire is still one of my favorite mechanics.
Are you talking about the announcement trailer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUdGUBDR_9k
I'm pretty sure that was intentionally made like that to spoof Masterpiece Theater. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQk3Xf2Ur78

Absolutely yes. Rushed and recycled expansion.

The most busted, most OP set of recent Year, if not ever, is your favorite. I feel like someone's opinion is invalid here.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
