If you look on the responses to the new expansion, you'll notice that any negative ( even slightly ) comment is at ~ -10 , so it is HIDDEN . Even the slightly negative comments that are well put, well written and highly logical, around the same amount of votes, and HIDDEN.
This pretty much sealed it for me, done with purchasing packs. If they're not going to choose to be honest and straight up about things and not take criticism into consideration, well, they're not the same soul filled, epic company that created Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 anymore.
Goodbye to Blizzard, hello to Activision.

Im more likely to believe that it was other people/ HS fans, who dont agree with the negative comments, down voted them. 2nd - Damage Control .... what do you mean, srsly? There hasn't been any damage to begin with.
Maybe not for you. Of course the fact that they try to hide the negativity towards their products isn't such a big deal, but its still a fact and it says something about the company doing this. I understand that the game is worth it, but sometimes corporations are greedy and disrespectfull enough to stop buying anything from them
I don't accuse you of being a liar or nothing and Blizzard shouldn't operate like that.
However if they choose to delete (or hide) negative comments, why they choose to ask the community about changes, receive a thousand billion negative comments about Baku and Gen and then decide to HOF them prematurely?
Also, who in his right mind judges negatively or positively an expansion that only 8 cards have been revealed. Yeah, maybe the mechanics look cool or not, yeah Rafaam maybe was expected to do something other than a Golden Monkey or not, but wtf people. Chill a little. Have EXPECTATIONS that can turn into negative or positive feelings depending on what you want WHEN the full set is released/revealed.
Patience is a virtue, not a curse.
As for deciding to buy packs or not, hm ok. You probably used google to come here right? So Google using small javascript snipets in the code, detects how much time you spend on a page, what you click and so on. But you still buy Android phones that support Google right? You still use its browser and support Google through viewing a BILLION advertisements. What I am pointing here is that there are some dark and polluted things that you have either to accept or shutdown your pc for ever :P Buying packs depending on if a comment or not was deleted, does not make that much sense to me.
I for one want to see transparency and read other ppls opinions be it negative or positive and make my own mind on any subject. What Activision is doing is a lot like the what the mainstream media is doing, filtering the content and biasing towards their own narrative and agenda. I refuse to be a sheep being herded by the media or by Activision attempting to whitewashing the opinions of you and I so they can sell me bad packs. by the way im not a free to play player and own a full collection, but will stop supporting Blizzard (Activision) till they get back to their senses.
I feel like we might want to wait until the expansion is out, or at least the cards have been revealed until we decide to judge? Whether you choose to support the game's existence by buying bundles is up to you...
I feel like we might want to wait until the expansion is out, or at least the cards have been revealed until we decide to judge? Whether you choose to support the game's existence by buying bundles is up to you...
I think u missed the main point which is transparency. I bought crappier and crappiest expansions hence i own a full collection. i enjoy the cards as they are and support Blizzard along the way. but its the censoring that i have issue with.
@tardisgreen "What color is your tin foil hat?" What level is your ignorance ? actually, not even curious. Please move along, go upvote Diablo Immortal.
@RavenSunHP "You should stop purchasing packs with real money simply because you think they are not worth it. Not because of some conspiracy about them allegedly hiding criticism..." I'm going to support a company that leaves it all in the clear and the open, not someone that hides any negative comment in an attempt to keep a great atmosphere towards boosting up their sales and player database. Believe it or not, many people are affected by others' opinion.
@ShivaChef "Im more likely to believe that it was other people/ HS fans, who dont agree with the negative comments, down voted them. " I want to agree with you, I really do. However I've been looking at all the 14 pages ( at the time of the post ) and the negative numbers at the time were all around -10 to -13, in a window of 8-9 hours. Statistically, I'd say it's impossible that those exact numbers appear everywhere.
@ShivaChef "Damage Control .... what do you mean, srsly? There hasn't been any damage to begin with." Yes there has, but not many of us have observed it, because it's HIDDEN. If you read the thread's first post again, then visit the respective page and see all the negative comments HIDDEN, that should give a clear version of the damage control. As for the damage, clarifying to everyone that they're not bringing nearly anything new and then throwing up pack ordering for cash grab does DAMAGE to their sales. Sure' we haven't seen all the cards, but so far there isn't something truly innovative and the cash grab is out there for the taking. There are people who want to order and read the comments. That's why we're getting muted. They don't want anyone to get influenced by negative opinions and reconsider the purchase.
@tzon_e "However if they choose to delete (or hide) negative comments, why they choose to ask the community about changes, receive a thousand billion negative comments about Baku and Gen and then decide to HOF them prematurely? " It's different. This is the first reaction to an official release, and it's the first reaction to their 1/3 yearly main income - new expansion packs. This isn't balance ( which is nowhere near fixed with OTK decks but I'm not going into that ) , like Baku/Gen. This is cash grabbing.
@Exitium "I feel like we might want to wait until the expansion is out, or at least the cards have been revealed until we decide to judge? " Wrong thread, we're discussing damage control here. On a short note : there are plenty of highly logical reasons that explain why the new expansions isn't likely to bring anything great, and why it doesn't SO FAR, in the expansion announcement comments. All of those are HIDDEN though.

@OP, what do you think happens when all the peoplewho are hyped up about an expansion, see a negative or salty comment - yup they probably dislike it.
Do you think this is the first time an expansion is announced and people are on the fence - definitely not. It probably happens 3 times per year. Ive never purchased packs or bundles so I cant tell if people who are willing to pay, actually take the comments seriously as opposed to the opinion of a streamer.
It is actually real, in my previous company i had something like "if you see negative comments about our company please inform community relationship department so that they can correct that" and they literally would be sitting and making sure that any top comments are actually positive... If need be just write a few themselves...
The big Issue of Diablo Immortal is in the company itself in my opinion. Once you had this terrible idea, you presented it, and people gently said to you to put this game in your ass, why you continued to develop it. This is the major issue in the company, Blizzard/Activision is not customer related and they proves it continuously.
An healthy company, customer related would do in this case: Sorry we have had an horrible idea, thank you for yours feedbacks, we will stop this project and we will develop the new Diablo starting from what we have now done for the smartphone.
But Blizzard is not, and this is what it is very odious of the company. They asked "Do you guys have phones" no sorry guys we are dickheads we will develop the new Diablo as you asked.
Blizzard/Activision's arrogance is the major point. This arrogance in doing what they what, followed by an horrible management.

This looks beyond artificial to me, and it's not like Blizzard didn't do this before :

You should stop purchasing packs with real money simply because you think they are not worth it.
Not because of some conspiracy about them allegedly hiding criticism...
Well, they did delete hundreds of thousands dislikes and comments from Diablo: Immortal trailer
Fine. But that's not a smart reason to decide whether one should buy packs or not.
Im more likely to believe that it was other people/ HS fans, who dont agree with the negative comments, down voted them.

OP, just answer the question. I have you down for a red tin foil hat, but I could be wrong.

And it is the same in Hearthstone by the way.
