You just gotta be lucky I guess, and play to your outs. Yesterday I was up against a Mecha’thun, made him overdraw 6 cards but in the end he won because none of them was a combo piece.
If you struggle a lot a find yourself vs many OTK decks you can try to counter them with a control lock with double Demonic Project or Rin but I’m not so sure it’s a great idea with this horrible meta.
A lot of the time it seems like you essentially have 2 basic strategies to consider: 1. Disrupt the combo somehow. Or 2. Outpace him with tempo / pressure.
And if one isn't working, yuo're going to need to adapt to the other pretty fast. For Druid Mecathun decks, there is often one fallback strategy that it surprises me that more people don't try. If the OTKer leaves up a minion on the board (hopefully a small one) by mistake - happens quite a lot - then work out if fatigue will kill him quicker if you don't play another minion for it to kill itself on. And hold on to a single target removal of some sort to deal with Mecathun when it is played.
I've done this to plenty of Meca'thun players, and in fairness it's been done to me as well. It's incredibly frustrating for the OTKer and satisfying for the non-OTKer.
Just don't be "that guy" who gleefully spams bad manners emotes at the opponent. It just makes you look like you only won by luck and didn't deserve it. Not to mention, it is generally bad sportsmanship and "we don't like your sort round these parts, squirrel....." YHBW..... :-)
Because Gadgetzan Auctioneer still exists. This is the PoS card that needs to go bye bye to HoF
while i love gadget, i still think you are right
They talk about limiting design space but this card has never been on their radar? I do kind of think they like combos too much and that's why it never has been. In Rouge or Druid this is a game winning card, a classic, rare, 6 drop that has probably won more games than Rexxar DK but it's not broken and fishing through your whole deck because you are one of 2 classes that this is a good card for is totally fair obviously XD

Nah. Braindead netdeckers are my fav emote targets. #getrektscrub #braindeadlivesdontmatter #makehearthstonecreativeagain
It was never creative looking back at a lot of forced archetypes but that last hashtag felt amusing to type.
