I'd guess the classes that don't rely heavily on Death Knights (Pally, Shaman, Warrior, Priest, Rogue) will get a bit of a boost just from the leveling effect.
I reckon it's already pretty good tbh in standard. I was doing well with it anyway.
btw if you like mech decks, you should check out the mech face hunter in wild. it's very cheap and a blast to play.
I prefer mechs in wild as we have more options. it's one of the reasons I started playing wild as I love mechs and I missed GvG. so many good mechs in GvG, just no magnetic keywords. Hope we get more mechs this year though.
PS: Mechromancer is one of the most fun ladder decks for standard IMO. it's more like a mid range deck than regular odd pally and decks eith no removal just suck against it. if you come up against another paladin or a zoo lock or something you usually can stack a huge mech and they can't do anything about it. only thing is that sap and silence are pretty nasty when you have a big mag mech on board. I don't think you get silenced mechs back with kangors.

Yes dude :). More decks will see play. Now its just op cards....

Looks like we're talking about the upcoming rotation, so here's a question.
People have often referred to Doomsday's and (partly) Rastakhan's meta as stale or not fresh, stating that after a month or so no new deck will pop up (unless nerfs) and that tier rankings are very stiff.
So, how do you expect the next meta will be? Decks popping up every week for the first two months? I'm not mocking anyone: it's just curiosity.

Old decks that have been tried before but didn't work out will be tried again, however odd and potentially even decks will still be tier one. Calling it right now.

Year of the mammoth is hard competition for deck slots, with this rotation a lot of the staple cards for most decks flush out.
Branching paths? Gone
All the death knights? Gone
Psychic scream? Gone
Wandering monster? Gone
Quests? Gone
Prince keleseth? Gone
Legendary weapons? Gone
Also a thing to consider is that this year might have felt a little stale because if you compare it to year of the mammoth we got lots of crazy cards that generate tons of value. With them gone who knows what they will print.
Mech pally looks really strong. Its losing nothing. Mechano egg, zilliax, glow tron, annoy o module, gatekeeper, wargear etc etc all strong mechs.
Then after they die, use Kangors Army and big mechs get ressurected!!. Im happy!! :)
You may or may not be correct - can't really say either way for certain at this stage. But don't forget that there is a whole new set of cards that need to be considered. The first set of a new expansion often comes with huge meta sweeps and big power increases of unexpected archetypes.
I was thinking the same thing. Mech Pally feels close to good now, but since it's losing very little with the rotation I could see it being a powerhouse. But that'll depend on what gets released in the new expansion.
What a load of rubbish. The rotation will feature new cards. Discussing the rotation as if the only impact is departing cards is a fool's errand, but do continue. This thread will be good for a laugh someday.

I think the loss of maul, stonehill and void ripper will hurt it, but it won't hurt it as much as it completely decimates some of the archetypes we have right now.
Like already stated though, we can't know for sure till we see the new cards. A completely unheard of archetype might rise from the ashes of the year of the raven.
It all depends on what the next set is, what new keywords we get and what support we get for existing keywords and mechanics. It really does hinge on what is supported the best, or what completely broken card(s) are released that allow for existing mechanics to be exploiting in new and infuriating ways.
It will be my first time playing when a rotation happens (if I am playing when it happens. I've played since old gods, but I've only played like 10 seasons as I don't tend to play all year round) I'd really like to try and stay invested this time around though as it's going to be such a change with all the big cards being gone from the pools. It should be a very exciting time.... until then though I'm playing wild. Completely sick of facing the same hunter deck 9/10 games.

Pretty much.
There's an entire set of cards that hasn't been released yet and people are already trying to predict the meta.
You people didn't see anyone predict the Rastakhan meta when not a single Rastakhan card was released, did you? Then why are you doing it now?
Odd/Mech Warrior should do well as well, for similar reasons.
Also, to the two players who came here to threadcrap because of speculative nature of the thread, that's what the forums are for. Moreover, I'm sure you remember last year, when rotation did nothing to dethrone the top tier Cubelock, Spiteful Druid, and Paladin decks until further nerfs later. It's not rubbish to expect an already strong deck with fewest rotating cards to rise to the top during the first (and typically weakest) expansion of the year.

Except mech paladin isn't a strong deck.
Except right now the meta doesn't have a tier 1 deck that will lose little to nothing. Only deck that comes close is odd warrior and that deck auto loses to any and all OTK decks. (oh and did I mention it's anything but tier 1?)
Except Spiteful priest was the go to spiteful deck, not druid.
Except Even and Odd paladin didn't exist until after the rotation.

Answers to your claims in order that they were stated:
It's hard to say because the deck isn't played enough. Yes, it's overshadowed by more popular stronger decks right now (and there are multiple good paladin decks) all of which are going to lose a lot of power after the rotation. I have a few variants of Mech Paladin I play and honestly it doesn't feel like a weak deck. It may very well be in the same position as Spell Hunter was last year around the same time, it's strong but people don't realize it yet because it's overshadowed by other stronger decks.
Correct, and that's exactly my point. I don't see a stronger deck that will remain strong post-rotation. How does this point contradict what I said?
Dude and Murloc Paladins existed prior to the rotation, and were both Tier 1. Murloc Paladin died, but Dude stayed around and continued to be strong even after Witchwood, Even Paladin was basically an evolution of Dude Paladin (technically so was odd, but they enhanced different strengths of the archetype and Even Pally stayed closer to original Call to Arms, Buff, and Knife Juggler + Dryglich synergies).
What is the point of this condescending statement? You can feel smug all you want, but you didn't disprove anything I said.

Ok i check it out :)
Yeah the rotation will freshen things up for a couple of weeks.
here dude. this is what I run.

Mech odd will become a big thing since half of odd pally's staples are being removed.
A world without the overpowered Death Knights is going to be super weird.
I don't think I could predict much of anything right now...except that Genn and Baku are still going to be good.
