I'm reading so many peoples opinions here, and so many people constantly calling out for (in their opinion) necessary changes, that I wonder if the team actually ever responds to these battlecries. I'm not sure if I would, as a developer, as you can never keep everyone satisfied.
Has anyone from the developmentteam of HS ever responded on this website? Or is there proof that due to discussions and feedback on this site, things have changed in-game?
I remember an old post of Brode where he said explicitly that Blizzard had read the comments here (it was during the announcement of some nerfs). If Blizzard don't read Hearthpwn they are totally out of mind, this forum is the biggest, and a company like Blizzard should be customers' related.
In any case, the question is always open because here on Hearthpwn we voted and discussed a lot of things and very often the Blizzard's decision didn't happened or it was the opposite of what the people wanted. So very often Blizzard seems not a company customers' related.
I'd really like to see that post. The impression that I had is that blizzard looks at their own board, twitter, and reddit but not here. We're just talking to each other.
Now I don't know how they act nowadays given the recent pushing by Activision, but Blizzard in the past has had their ear on their customers. But they never really bend backwards for them. Meanwhile, the fanbase has been about as angry and toxic to Blizzard since the days of diablo 1 and starcraft base game but has always loyally stuck around (the old "CoD players will say how much they hate a game while buying it" goes 5x how we do it). We've also had very *VERY* horrible feedback to offer blizzard as well.
If anything, they've been far more open than I'm used to seeing them. They always had that air of being dead silent when it comes to talking to us and simply worked on their stuff while we yelled at, what felt like, the open air. The videos discussions the whys and where's of changes honestly threw me for a loop.
(well so did the concept of seeing deadlines that were actually MET)
In any case, I honestly haven't seen a single post by blizzard over here even though I HAVE seen their posts elsewhere, so take that what you will.
Why they should't look here we are customers and a lot. What we want it is really really important. If I remember well it was during the Patches and Raza nerf that Brode said that. It should be here in the forum, it was the post made during the nerfs announce. (if I remember well).
It's a shame because, believe it or not, the quality of the posts on this forum is much higher than that of the posts on the Hearthstone Reddit forum. The Reddit forum is dominated by "fluff" posts and links to Youtube videos.
This forum has more critical comments than Reddit does, but fewer than the Blizzard Hearthstone forum. It strikes a good balance, and I think it's the best Hearthstone forum out there. Too bad Blizzard isn't listening.
No. Lol blizzard does not care about the balance in this game and they definitely don't care about your opinion. This game is literally just a lotto machine to them. They'll keep the OP cards op for months, sometimes years at a time and then nerf them right before rotation.
They may should pay someone who only reads Sites like this and just inform them of the best ideas, suggestions and constructive criticism. I don´t think they have that much time to do this by their own. This could may be a job for a apprentice, intern or sb. Not the best job, I know, but I guess they could find someone for this.
Most threads made here are so braindead, I think the Balance Team would lose their mind if they read them.
Tbh I have seen worse in the official forum.
Agreed. The herd mentality is also staggering there. If you're not an official forum fanboi you just get your threads downvoted into oblivion, even if something you think is relatively neutral.
With this in mind, I really don't think they pay attention to us very often.
Still I think Hearthpwn deserves some recognition from Blizzard, and I see it as rather disrespectful that they still haven't given Hearthpwn a card to reveal, given all the work this site does for the community.
Two quick things, Hearthpwn does get paid attention a bit, back before Un'goro launch there was an exclusive interview with Dean Ayala. Not sure how much they do now considering that interview was almost 3 years ago now, but I don't see a reason why they would stop doing that. Hearthpwn did used to get card reveals. The first one they got was with Xaril, Poisoned Mind and I thought they did a good job presenting it. I don't know if they got any other card reveals since then since the main reason I remember this one is because it was mentioned in the Hearthpwn Turns Five! news article. I also remember asking why they no longer get them, but didn't get an answer.
As for my two cents on the original topic, I think it's kind of a good idea to not specifically read threads on this site. It can make a small minority feel a lot louder than it actually is since at the heart of the game, Hearthstone is still a pretty casual game. Getting to rank 15-10 isn't something a majority of the player base does and so plenty of the things that blizzard says that makes us scoff at them, such as not nerfing big build-a-round cards such as Kingsbane directly makes it so that more casual audiences can still enjoy decks like that. If Blizzard were to start catering towards the competitive market with Hearthstone, I feel like it would lose a lot of it's appeal as some of the easiest ways to make it more competitive would also hurt the current way the game is played.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.

Blizzard can't be everywhere, simply put. They have to pick their venues for where to voice their responses and have only so much time to go reading various locations. SOMEONE is going to get missed, and it's rather meh to just assume "just miss them and see us instead."
Blizzard has their own forum. Reddit is a universal forum and thus is easy for anyone to find (I know when I enter a new game the first thing I check is to see what's going on in their reddit). Twitter, youtube, and facebook are also very universal and great ways to get a handle on their messaging. I can see them saying "That's enough."
It's not about whether our opinions matter. They've had decades being able to go through our inane chatter. It's probably more about "What can we offer that the other forums they already have a known presence in can't?' And to that I say...nothing.
We aren't more pros than their pro scene who tend to either have their own twitch and youtube forums or go to venues where they can meet employees face to face. We aren't the biggest group, thus letting them get a 'feel' for the casual audience. We have exactly 0 analysis doing things like researching the pity timer. I honestly push people to go find evidence of those "matchmaking is rigged" forums because I honestly want someone to actually put some deep data dives on the issue so that we can settle it and just because it'll be something deep and possiblity useful for the community. But no, everyone wants to either put on a tin foil hat or go mock those that do.
They can get to manage their own forums and most casual blizzard players will start there. Reddit is more fanatical and analytical. THe pros have their own places. However people respect the page, this is effectively a small town of yokels garbling over what they heard someone say was on (insert hates news station here) yesterday.
We have a voice. But the microphones are elsewhere. If you want to be heard by them, they are available. Just get on your pick-up truck and head on'up to the big city.

Of course they do, most gaming companies read the important forums regarding their game.
No, Blizzard only reads Reddit and its own forum.

#25: How do you conclude they are not listening? I see many positive changes lately.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
Don't think so.
I don't think Reddit is a very good source of legitimate information about anything in fairness! :-P
Ooh! Angsty Priest player spotted! XD
