So the thing is that i spent then past 2 weeks not playing that much hs especially ladder but rather observing decks here and there. Since hunter is pretty much a thing now i wanted to craft one version of the current ones, at first it was between spell hunter and secret hunter but i kind have a crush on the version with big beasts and zul'jin.
With that being said i wanna hear some opinions on whether I should craft King Krush, Kathrena, Oondasta and hound master shaw (wonder if this one is replaceable because it feels kinda useless. Dust is not really a problem since i got like 17k but i really want to invest smart.
Kathreena rotates out on April so if you are f2p player and you dont play wild i dont think that you should craft her . In general hunter really has good decks right now.
It's not worth it to craft 4 legendaries to play 1 deck. You can craft Oondasta, because it's used in a variety of decks, but the other 3 - are too niche and in my honest opinion, a really big investement, just for 1 deck.

“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.” ― George Bernard Shaw
EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
I'm in the same spot. I have Kathrena and Oondasta but no Rexxar, Krush, Shaw, Keleseth.
In your case, only Kathrena rotates in April (and 4 months is a LOT of time). Oondasta and Shaw will remain for almost two years. Krush is evergreen.
Oondasta is neutral and can be used in other decks. I wonder if Krush will see play after DR Hunter rotates, but then again, 4 months is a lot of time to play with him. And Shaw is totally nuts in this deck. He may not seem flashy, but when you see him in play is when you notice the difference. Always having combat initiative is huge, specially in a board centric deck. Enemies go out of their way to remove him ASAP (and it's not easy to remove 6 health on turn 3-4) and if they can't the punish is usually huge: attack with a minion, play one, attack with it, cube it, attack with cube, play dead, attack again with the new minions as well. No board can resist that.
I wouldn't touch Krush. He comes and goes and he's only viable now because of Kath.
Shaw is a dangerous one for opponents, so they go bonkers trying to kill him off. Wipin out an 6 mana creature at turn 4 is not easy for most players so having him die quickly isn't much lost tempo. Meanwhile, if he stays around, you WILL keep the board.
Point is, he seems weaker than he is. i'd deem him a safe craft.
Thing is, beast need katherina and Kath is NOT a good craft right now as she's about to rotate. As such I'd highly consider going a different path than deathrattle.
so overall, I think it might be best to just let this deck fade. it's just too late to jump on the bandwagon. I know I have decks that are in that boat. I can't make a full shudderwock deck and I don't have the paladin death knight even though I love paladin. See if there's other decks you can jam over instead with cards with more longevity.
I mean take our advice with a grain of salt. You have #)$#( 17k dust. I'm not sure how I would spend all of that myself. So you may still feel like crafting them and if so you go ahead. But the above is our opinion on the matter.
Also if you are a person who goes to wild regularly NONE of this matters as all cards are perfectly valid forever to you :P.
I mean out of all the hunter decks currently deathrattle hunter IS the best one out of all of them.
Problem is it also requires the most legendaries, and as other users have pointed out already, those legendaries are mostly used for that deck only (bar Oondasta).
I'd try out the hybrid midrange hunter deck, it utilizes both Zul'jin and Deathstalker, and seems to be one of the best hunter decks at legend ranks at the moment.
I craft legendaries to play lame decks here and there. E.g. I recently crafted Herald Volazj just to play him in Weasel Priest. Sometimes it is wasted dust and sometimes it's not. My point is that if you think it is fun then go ahead and do it. But if you are on a budget and care for your resources then it might be too big an investment considering Hunter will lose a lot of good cards in April.
Of the cards you mentioned, Houndmaster Shaw is actually the best craft, and he pretty much fits any Midrange Hunter out of Spell Hunter and Beast Hunter with Master's Call (but you can still build different Beast Hunters).
However you use Shaw, he can turn the tables of a game: he's sticky, so an excellent soft taunt on (4), and if he survives, the opponent will have a hard time at keeping the board.
And he will still be Standard for another 1,5 years, more or less.
All the other cards need specific and reciprocal support (rooted in the rotating Kathrena Winterwisp) in order to be strong, that will not arguably find replacement past rotation.
How much do you like wild? Recruit, spell hunter, and death rattle hunter will all take huge hits in the rotation. Oondasta and Shaw will be playable to very good after rotation. The Loa is solid as well.
If you are a standard only to mostly player, watch out for crafting anything before Witchwood.

Sry.

To put it simply - no.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
I'm in a similar boat....
I have all but I'm missing shaw, krush, and oodasta. I have 2 devilsaurs so I wont craft krush.
I can only craft 1, I don't mind that the deck rotates, it has always been my favorite since I started this game:)
Just between shaw and oondasta. which one is better craft and why?

You want to craft the actually best deck of the meta and have got 17 k dust?
Serously what are you waiting for?
