In my opinion Hearthstone is all about crazy interactions and having fun, something that isn't so fun is playing against odd paladin. A refined deck with 65% winrate that just obliberates any "fun deck" shouldn't exist I feel. Now we have a hunter deck that can do the same thing but also out value most controll decks?
Yes I'm slightly salty, but only because this is a game I care for so please don't see it in that way.
Now that I've shared my opinion I'm wondering, is this good gameplay?
"What makes for good gameplay?" Well, for example, a deck like Bazookadin. Why? Because it forces you to think, to use your brain, while Odd Paladin is the opposite, a 100% mindless deck. :(
Exactly, a deck like odd paladin probably wins in many situations against that deck and I don't think thats fair since you are the one playing the difficult deck.
When I used to play Hearthstone more regularly, it was the same problem, but completely different decks - and this never changed - I absolutely hated playing against C'thun Druid or before that Mech Mage or before even that Miracle Rogue.
Mysterious Challenger paladin is another great example, whilst was awful for the meta and therefore super boring, it was a super crazy concept - paladin secrets had never been played so much before.
There is no commonality between these decks though. - one is midrange, one is aggro and miracle is...miracle and MC Paladin was super unique. The problem was that I disliked wasting time doing something repetitive - I like variety in my meta, and not the rock paper scissors system Hearthstone has become (and largely was at the beginning).
The problem is not the Odd Paladin deck, but the fact that you see it so consistently - which makes it dull to play against as it's repetitive to face the same strategy. The real problem is the oppressive underlying mechanics built into hearthstone's design structure.
Well everyone is going to have different opinions about what is good gameplay. That's why there are so many games available to gamers. In Hearthstone, my personal opinion is that good gameplay is when you really have to think about your decisions. So I really enjoy building and refining my own decks, or trying to base decisions off of what I think my opponent has in hand or in their deck. Good gameplay to me is strategic gameplay. Also janky combos of course.
A number of factors. Some of these top factors are : a game that's interactive and reactive to users.
Since we're in the HS forums, that's NOT Hearthstone. With cards like Shudderwock, OTK's and so on, HearthStone had to be taken off that list at the start of WitchWood. Nowadays it's more of a "who gets to play his combo cards first".

Bazookadin is a deck hard to master with the potential to have a good winrate against Odd Paladin and many other decks (it destroys huntards ;) ) in the hands of an experienced player, but I don't know if the average Hearthstone player could end up piloting the deck properly, so that is why I'm starting to think it will never be tier 1. :(
I'm just curious, but how exactly does it take skill to holy wrath someone in the face? This game isn't about skill, it's about luck.
Hehe, this is one of the reasons why I said the average Hearthstone player will probably never master this deck... Just because you have the possiblity to use Holy Wrath for 25 or 50 damage to the face, doesn't mean that is the way to win every single match, dude (for example, I have never won a match against Odd Paladin that way). ;)

Well yes, but every match is the same, at least one Holy Wrath goes face every time. Nothing that skillful about it

Did you really read my post, mr. Kissmealloveragain? I have never used Holy Wrath to the face against Odd Paladin, NEVER.

Wow assuming gender in 2018! >:( You said you didn't win that way, nothing about actually using it or not.
For Hearthstone, the best gameplay imo is when both players are rewarded for planning ahead and punished for misplays. When each player has a decent chance at winning, and at the end of the match you know that the better player won.
Good gameplay is a large number of people being able to play the sort of decks they enjoy with reasonable success depending on the deck.
Just because you don't enjoy playing Odd paladin doesn't mean others don't. I'm not a fan playing it, but I adjust my deck strategies to assuming I'll see a good amount on the ladder. Now I have stopped adjusting for them and started assuming I'll be playing against a lot of hunters. The hunter matchups are more fun and interactive, but ultimately a tad boring because they are so prevalent and generally all follow the same gameplay on turns 1-6, damn near regardless of deck.
However the expansion is new and it was the class that came with a new hero and some great cards so I assumed it would be the most popular. In the mean time I would say calm down, wait a week or two and make an actual assesment after people have refined their decks. Honestly Odd mage already seems to be a great counter to both decks and I assume that popularity will grow. Paladins have some strong tools against those decks and throwing in a few Chief Investegator's won't hurt you at all. Kingsbane Rogue is pretty nuts right now and I'm cleaning house against hunters and paladins but gameplay is very, very tricky.
In two days the PvE drops and you can distract yourself with that for a bit while the meta settles and the variety hopefully expands.

I'm sorry miss if I offended you, but your gender is totally irrelevant in this conversation, so please, stay on topic.
For me good gameplay would be matches where players face off each other, and it's never too sure who will have the upper hand. Matches where both players seem to have nearly the same chance at winning, where both players interact with each other and answer each other's plays.
Sadly, lately decks have become very polarized and it's pretty clear when a deck can or can't win against another deck. It's somewhat to blame on this being the last expansion, and thus having a large set of cards available. Not to mention that un'goro and knights of the frozen throne feature some of the most powercrept cards we've seen so far.
I think once the standard rotation hits, the dev team have a good chance to make something more moderated, and give us a less polarized, more "fair feeling" experience.

If we ever get to choose are blockers this game might be fun again.
10+ decks that don't make the meta feel stale
more crazy build-around/meme cards per expansion
more cards per expansion for people to experiment with
less terrible neutral commons and more thought provoking cards
