Hey guys this my RR card review,I did this mostly to see how many cards I get right/wrong and I'd love to hear other people's opinions on the cards, especially those that you think I rated too low/high...
Little spoiler,I didn't give a single 5 because, thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any blatantly overpowered card in this set...
Rating System
1-Pack filler, not even worth for memes, you wouldn't even be happy to pick this in Arena (i.e. Savagery) 2-Good for meme Decks and could see some fringe play in ladder (i.e. Bone Drake) 3- Solid ladder card but doesn't win games on its own (i.e. Tar Creeper) 4-Sees play in mutliple ladder Decks and can be game winning at times (i.e. Doomsayer) 5-Broken,will need a nerf at some point (i.e. Mad Scientist)
Druid
Gonk, the Raptor 1-Too slow and I don't see why you would want to facetank everything your opponent plays...
Wardruid Loti 2-Decent card thanks to its flexibilty but what would you cut to fit this? The effect isn't game changing and Druid's decklists are pretty tight seeing the amount of good cards they have...
Stampeding Roar 2-6 mana Tyrantus or Hadronox I guess? Not that bad but probably not even worth a slot in every Deck ...
Treespeaker 2-Good when you manage to get the battlecry off but making a board of treants stick seems kinda hard right now...
Predatory Instincts 1- I guess you could tutor Hadronox with this but we're in a world where Juicy Psychmelon and Master Oakheart exists so this seems pretty useless to me... Also you want Hadronox to die not to have 14 HP...
Mark of the Loa 1-If it cost 3 it'd be so much better but a 4 mana it's just bad outside of maybe Arena...
Ironhide Direhorn 1- If only this had Rush or the Token had Taunt... I guess you could try using it with Stampeding Roar but it would still be slow and leave your face vulnerable...
Savage Striker 1-Synergy with DK Heropower I suppose? Other than that I don't see what you could do with Savagery on a stick because no Heropower Druid isn't and won't ever be a thing...
Pounce 2-This is not a 1 just because it costs (0) and Gadgetzan Auctioneer exists, other than cycling I don't think this is gonna do much...
Hunter
Zul'jin 4-This rating is based solely on the effect of the card, which is obviously good especially since a lot of Hunter cards do not target, but I doubt it'll see much play until the DK rotates...
Halazzi, the Lynx 2-Good for everyone who wants to play Quest Hunter but I doubt the Deck will ever be much more than a meme...
Master's Call 2- Spell version of Stitched Tracker that could potentially draw 3 cards in a beast based Deck (or if you're like me just draw the 3 buffed Huffers you shuffled into your Deck earlier that game) but without a body it's probably too slow for Hunter...
The Beast Within 1-Windfury-like effect for Hunter? I just can't see why you would want to play this...
Bloodscalp Strategist 2-It's a nice follow up to a Headhunter's Hatchet on turn 2 but the stats are kind meh and Hunter doesn't have that many good spells... Still worth a try in Secret Hunter though...
Spirit of the Lynx 1-Just too slow and with too little upside to see play especially in a class like Hunter that can't afford the Tempo loss that this card would cause... Also,Prince Keleseth says hello...
Revenge of the Wild 3-I think this card is a bit overrated... I mean,it's a good card and sometimes it'll win games but I don't think it'll make Hunter Tier 0... Sure, summoning back Savannah Highmane and King Krush it's really nice but it's a horrible topdeck and it also means you sat there with a dead card for half the game... Again,it's a good card and think we'll see it on ladder but I doubt it'll break the game...
Baited Arrow 1- Horrible, just plain horrible and also overcosted... Also, overkill is a crappy mechanic in my opinion...
Headhunter's Hatchet 3-Not as good as Candleshot but still pretty good... Aggro likes 6 dmg for 2 mana and slower Decks can use this to get rid of pesky early game minions, the only downside is that you can't play this and Prince Keleseth in the same Deck...
Springpaw 3-Gives Midrange[/card]Beast Hunter a turn 1 play to curve into Crackling Razormaw and also a ping to use later in the game... Not as good as Alleycat but will certainly help Hunter deal with Paladin or Zoo...
Mage
Hex Lord Malacrass 2- Azalina-like effect so it could be used as tech against Control Decks but not much more...
Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk 3-It will be devastating when played on curve but that won't happen often and it's useless against Token Decks... Still, the effect is pretty easy to trigger even for non-odd Decks so I'm sure it'll see play in both Odd and Big Spell Mage...
Blast Wave 2-2 dmg for 5 mana is pretty terrible but right now the meta is flooded with Token Decks,so it'll probably draw you a couple of cards too,not even remotely as good as other Mage's AOEs but not completely awful...
Splitting Image 2-All I can think of when I see this card is that it pollutes the pool of my Arcane Keysmiths... I read everywhere that this card is bonkers because you play it,then you play a big minion your opponent trades into it and you get another copy... Seriously, how many times do you think this will happen? If you play a minion big enough to get value out of this it'll either get removed or the opponent will just ignore it and go face... Sure every once in a while this card will win you a game but most of the times it'll be a dead draw...
Scorch 3-4 dmg for (4) mana is okay and 4 dmg for (1) is insane so if a tempo based Elemental Deck will pop out this will certainly be played in there...
Pyromaniac 2- 3/4 for 3 is a premium statline but you'll need to wait at least a turn to use the effect and it'll get removed most of the time so I don't think it'll have that much impact...
Spirit of the Dragonhawk 2-Okay card but Heropower Mage isn't a thing and you don't need this to trigger the LOA so I guess this card will see some fringe play but not much more...
Arcanosaur 3-A bit overcosted (because you know,Jaina) but still a really solid card especially with Elemental Evocation... It'll certainly be used in Elemental Mage and personally I'd try to fit it even in Big Spell...
Daring Fire-Eater 2-As with the spirit I think it'll see some fringe play (probably in Odd Mage more than anything) but that's it...
Elemental Evocation 3- If it wasn't a bad topdeck and useless on its own I would've given it a 4,right now it's more like 3.5... It costs (0) which alone makes it good and it will certainly lead to some ridiculous board states... I bet we'll see a lot of nerf threads for this....
Paladin
Shirvallah, the Tiger 2-You can't play this in anything that is even remotely fast and all it does is probably just remove a minion and heal you, after the Divine Shield has been popped 5 HP isn't much so it'll get killed pretty easily.... Not horribly bad but underwhelming for a Legendary card...
High Priest Thekal 2-Again,I find the effect to be boring, especially for a Legendary... Also, unless you draw it on curve it doesn't do much so it's beyond me how most people think this is gonna be meta defining...
A New Challenger... 2-Nice tool for Big Spell Paladin even though it's in the same mana slot of Spiteful Summoner and it can lowroll quite a bit...
Immortal Prelate 2-I don't think Quest Paladin will ever be more than just a meme and beside Spikeridged Steed what can you with this card? It's just a ball of stats... Even if,somehow, this becomes meta everyone will just double up on Silence and the problem will be solved...
Farraki Battleaxe 1-Do I reallly need to add something? Bad mechanic on top of an already bad weapon that also as a negligible effect... One of the worst cards of the set,I bet I'll open a golden playset of this...
Zandalari Templar 3- Paladin's version of Hooked Reaver maybe not as easy to activate but still a decent card for slower Decks...
Spirit of the Tiger 3-One of the best spirit cards,if not dealt with it'll give you back the tempo you lost on almost immediately.... Playing this on turn 5,followed by Spikeridged Steed on turn 6 is gonna be brutal...
Time Out! 2-Tech card for Exodia Paladin or for Control builds against OTKs not much more to say here...
Flash of Light 3-Heal against Aggro (that also goes towards Zandalari Templar and maybe even the Spellstone) and cycle against Control, overall decent card wouldn't probably see play in other classes (cough Druid cough) but Paladin lacks card draw so it's passable...
Bloodclaw 4- 1 mana 2/2 I don't think there's much more to say,the downside is nothing compared to tempo you gain with this card...
Priest
Princess Talanji 2-I bet this will end up on Trolden more than once and it could be fun to meme with but I doubt it'll see ladder play...
Bwonsamdi, the Dead 1-Ehrm just no,right now this would need an insane amount of effort make it work so until they release more support for it it's gonna be pretty useless...
Surrender to Madness 1-Even if we put aside the horrible Tempo loss that is playing this card why would you want to buff your minions as Priest? The best performing Decks for the class have like 5 minions each...
Grave Horror 3- Most Priest Decks play a lot of spells so most of the times this is gonna be a well statted cheap taunt, nothing too flashy but it's gonna do it's job...
Spirit of the Dead 2- Okay card for Quest Priest that I bet will lead to some weird combos but I don't it'll make the Quest that much better and I doubt the wombo combos with this card will be anything ladder worthy...
Sand Drudge 1-If the Token were 1/2 s it'd be good but 1/1s are way too easily dealt with and on its own it's useless so I doubt it'll see play...
Seance 2-Might be okay in Big Priest to get additional value (in case you ever need that) but that's it...
Regenerate 3- As for Mage and Druid (0) cost cards are good by default just because you don't need to spend mana to play them and on top of that you have synergy with both Auchenais and Lyra... It's not gonna be meta defining but I bet some lists will run it...
Rogue
Captain Hooktusk 2-The only iteration of Pirate Rogue I can think of is a fairly aggressive one so I don't think it would run this card, still this draws 3 specific cards and plays them so it's not completely awful...
Gral, the Shark 1-You're paying 5 mana to,maybe, draw a random minion wow... I guess this could lead to some shenanigan with Necrium Blade and Malygos but it's so inconsistent I wouldn't even dare calling that a Deck....
Gurubashi Hypemon 1-Costs too much and there are so many Battlecry minions that the chances of getting something useful are ground low... Also, why the heck isn't this a Pirate?
Cannon Barrage 2-This might and I underline might see play if Pirate Rogue ever becomes a thing but even in that case it's gonna be pretty hard to make it work without Prep... Obviously Prep+this on turn 3/4 would be game winning but that's unlikely to happen often and it doesn't make the standalone card any less bad... TL;DR This card sucks and if it ever sees it'll be all just because of Prep...
Spirit of the Shark 4-Yes,4 mana is a lot but if set up well the upsides are huge... Pogo-Hoppers with this are scary and so is Kingsbane that would get double buffs... And obviously there's Wild where this can be abused even better...
Raiding Party 3-If comboed this tutors 3 cards which is insane for 3 mana especially in Kingsbane where it draws both the weapon and the buffs,I'm gonna hate this card so much.... Oh yeah and I suppose you can use it in a Pirate Deck but I doubt that'll happen...
Walk the Plank 3-Vilespine Slayer won't be around forever so this is a decent substitute.... It doesn't come with a 3/4 and can't kill damaged minions but it's still nice for a class that doesn't really have hard removals...
Stolen Steel 1-The pool of weapons you can get from this isn't even that bad but why would want to run this card and instead of what? I mean, how does this help your Deck's strategy? Beside Arena shenanigans I don't see this being played at all...
Serrated Tooth 3-It'll be nice to have a turn 1 play other than Fire Fly,since it costs (1) you can use it to activate combos and you can also break it to trigger the Deathrattle... I would personally try it in Miracle, giving Rush to all those Spiders would be really nice...
Shaman
Krag'wa, the Frog 4-Boring but effective and splashable ability... It will draw you 1/2 or even 3 cards while putting a decently statted body on the board so I see this card being a staple in all of the class' slower Decks...
Zentimo 4-Who wouldn't want double Hex or Unstable Evolution? As with the other Legendary I don't see any reason not to run this everywhere...
Haunting Visions 3-Shaman's got its own Glyph! It's basically a (0) cost discover effect so it will be played for sure,I didn't give it a higher rating just because half the Shaman spells suck...
Big Bad Voodoo 2-Worse version of Unstable Evolution, the only uses I can see are with Reincarnate or using it right before trading into a minion otherwise it's just too slow...
Spirit of the Frog 1-3 mana 0/3 draw 1/2 cards? Acolyte of Pain is probably still better and you have a Tutor for spell cards so this isn't really needed...
Bog Slosher 3- Vanilla statline, good effect and a tribal tag nothing special but will most likely see play somewhere...
Likkim 1-Everywhere this is rated very high but I don't see why... Sure it's a 2 mana 3/3 if you're overloaded but that's mostly good early game and how many early game overload cards are there? There's like 3 of them but I don't see what Deck could run those cards and this one... I mean,Shudderwock could but would this card be that good in there? I don't think so... Even could also run this and the Tempo gain would be huge for the Deck but there's like 1 even overload card so that sounds inconsitent to me... Obviously, this is bonkers for Wild though...
Rain of Toads 3-Maybe not in double copy but I guess both Shudderwock and Even would want to run this also it's insane when you get it from Haunting Visions... I think this card shows how busted Spreading Plague is... That card could potentially net you a 7/35 for 6 mana while this gets you "just" 6/12 for 3 more mana...
Totemic Smash 3-1 Mana for 2 dmg (that can go face) is decent enough to see play probably but I find overkill effect useless and irrelevant...
Wartbringer 1-The effect is probably too conditional too see play... 2 spells are not difficult to cast in the same turn but why would I cut another card to play this? If the effect doesn't proc it's a vanilla 2/1,had it been an Elemental it would've been okay but like this I don't think it'll be used...
Warlock
Hir'eek, the Bat 1-Requires way too much set up and would just summon an Alanna-like board and that gets cleared 80% of the times...
High Priestess Jeklik 1-Even if Discardlock finally started working I don't think it would run this... It has barely passable stats and the effects are not even that good...
Void Contract 2-It might and I underline might see play as a tech card in a really really slow and combo oriented meta but other than that you wouldn't want to run this...
Soulwarden 2-If a slower version of Discardlock starts working this might be played in one copy just in case you end up discarding stuff like Gul'dan because it seems too slow for an Aggressive Deck...
Spirit of the Bat 1-Just garbage... Handbuff Paladin,Warrior and Hunter have never been a thing and I highly doubt such an awful mechanic will work with Warlock...
Shriek 3-Now Warlock doesn't need this but when Defile rotates it'll be played for sure... 1 mana for 2 dmg AOE is really good and any other class would gladly play this card right away...
Grim Rally 3- I think this has the potential to spawn another Zoo variation based on Eggs and stuff like Defender of Argus and maybe even Dark Iron Dwarf... Obviously it's gonna be way worse without Power Overwhelming but it's worth a try imo...
Demonbolt 1-Zoo doesn't need this and there's no way this will ever be better than Siphon Soul for a Control Deck...
Blood Troll Sapper 2- I guess you could try one copy as a finisher in a more Token based Zoo but I think the best use of this card is to meme in Wild...
Reckless Diretroll 2-If the more controllish version of Discardlock mentioned above works this might see play in it even though 2/6 is probably okay even in the current iteration of Zoo...
Warrior
Akali, the Rhino 1- Horrible statline for its cost and negligible effect...
War Master Voone 2-If some kind of Dragon Warrior Deck arises I think it'll be an Odd Deck so you won't be able to run this card in there, other than that I think the effect is okay but right now there are not enough good dragons to justify running this....
Sul'thraze 1-As with the Paladin weapon, overcosted with a terrible keyword and a not so good effect...
Smolderthorn Lancer 3-Execute on a stick with an easy enough condition to fulfill,if Dragon Warrior becomes a thing this will certainly be a staple in it but I'm not sure that's gonna happen...
Heavy Metal! 2-Geosculptor Yip slapped on a 6 mana spell nothing special here... It might be used in stuff like Big Warrior but I don't think it's gonna do much...
Emberscale Drake 3-Another overhyped card imo... 5/5 for 5 with a tribal tag and a passable conditional effect is gonna see play somewhere still it doesn't impact the board the turn it's played, needs and an activator and for all those who compare this toShieldmaiden, that card was good like 3 years ago I'm not so sure it would still be played right now... Personally I'd much rather play Dragonmaw Scorcher than this... On a positive note this card has one of the most badass artworks I've ever seen in Hearthstone...
Spirit of the Rhino 2-I doubt Rush Warrior will be a standalone Deck so I wouldn't want to run this with just 3/4 Rush minions because that seems incosistent, also besideDarius Crowley I don't the immunity being that important... It costs (1) though so that's good at least...
Overlord's Whip 2- 3 mana for a 2/4 weapon is okay but the effect isn't that great and certainly this card alone isn't enough to push Enrage Warrior (Yes,I know Enrage isn't a keyword anymore)...
Dragon Roar 2- Chances this card lowrolls are ground low so you'll most likely get some value out of it,on the other hand even if most dragons are big their effects (beside those of Alexstrasza and Ysera) are pretty useless, especially to a class like Warrior and obviously the card is a dead draw against Aggro...
Devastate 3-1 mana for 4 dmg is really good but it does need an activator which makes its value lower a bit... Still a solid card that will be played for sure...
Oondasta 2-Yet another overrated card,it might be used in Deathrattle Hunter but that's it, I just don't see this in Odd Decks to pull Baku and can't see what else you can do with this...
Da Undatakah 2-Overreated card #5... As with the Paladin minion this is just a ball of stats that needs setup for a not so big upside, unless you have a way to trigger the Deathrattle on the same turn you play this (which is something I think only Hunter is able to do) it'll just get silenced... Also,I don't see what gamebreaking Deathrattles this could gain,at most it's gonna draw a card and maybe summon another minion so nothing that amazing...
Mojomaster Zihi 3-Again overrated card... It's most likely gonna see play but it's not even remotely as broken as people make it out to be... It slows down Combo Decks (which is really nice) and gives Aggro the chance to compete against some Control Decks... Overall a good card with a pretty creative effect that I'm curious to try...
Griftah 1-This was made just to end up on Trolden... I guess you could try to make your opponent overdraw with this card but that's a stretch...
Crowd Roaster 3-Crappy HP but high ATK so it has to be removed and really nice effect (7 dmg takes out 90% of minions) it'll be a staple in Dragon Decks...
Linecracker 1-Arena card no way this will ever see constructed play...
Mosh'Ogg Announcer 2-Aggressive statline and effect that makes it annoying to remove,it's not likely but some Aggro Decks might try to run it...
Snapjaw Shellfighter 1-Well you could try this in Token decks I guess but I doubt it'd be worth it...
Ice Cream Peddler 1-Horrible tech against Freeze Mage no one would ever use that if even the Deck was everywhere...
Untamed Beastmaster 1-Well okay I guess, the statline for a 3 drop is good and it might even buff a card but that's it there's no way people would run this in anything other than maybe Quest Hunter...
Masked Contender 2-Might be worth trying in Secret Hunter since it curves into turn 2 Secret (that no one ever procs) and draws you a card and maybe even in Mage even though it'd be less reliable there...
Firetree Witchdoctor 2-The effect is good the problem is that just 2 classes can afford to play Dragons and those are Warrior and Priest in the latter the card is gonna be okay but in the former not so much... Still kinda decent and I'm a sucker for Dragons so I'll desperately try to make this work...
Shieldbreaker 1-Why would ever run this instead of normal Silence? The only reason I can see is that you want to crush the hopes and dreams of every single buff Paladin out there, other than that this card is useless...
Belligerent Gnome 1-Unless you're against Odd Paladin it's highly unlikely you'll get to trigger the battlecry on curve and later in the game a minion with 2 ATK is rather useless so you're much better off just running Doomsayers...
Soup Vendor 1-Might be tried in some version of Miracle Priest but I doubt that would work
Arena Patron 1-Meme,not even worth picking in Arena...
Murloc Tastyfin 1-Paladin has Divine Favor for card draw and Shaman has the Quest so I don't think this will be played much...
Waterboy 1-Having misread the card the first time I saw it I thought Machine Gun Anduin would be back but thankfully it says "next" so it doesn't work that way and makes the card pointless...
Booty Bay Bookie 1-Well I guess you can use this to make the opponent overdraw other than that I don't think it's worth the risk just for a 3/3...
Serpent Ward 1-Just no... Also, why is this a Toten? And since it's a Toten why isn't it a Shaman card?
Mosh'Ogg Enforcer 1-"Lemme change your mind!" Cabal aside it dies to Mossy Horror and 2 ATK for 8 mana is pitiful I highly doubt it's gonna see play outside of Arena...
Amani War Bear 1-Okay Arena card but not enough to be played on ladder...
Rabble Bouncer 2-If the meta gets even more flooded by Token Decks this might be played but 2 ATK is still bad and it you're pretty much never paying this less than 3/4 mana which is barely okay...
Rumbletusk Shaker 2-Basically a 4 mana 6/4 spilt over two bodies,it's not great but not that horrible either some Deck in search for sticky minions might give it a try...
Sharkfin Fan 3-This is gonna be sooo annoying, especially in Rogue, it will need to be killed ASAP or it will snowball out of control... I'm glad it's not a 2/3...
Scarab Egg 3-Nerubian Egg got a little brother! This is certainly gonna see play in some Zoo lists and wouldn't be surprised if another Egg based Deck came out...
Spellzerker 1-The only class that could damage is Warrior and Warrior doesn't need Spelldamage...
Saronite Taskmaster 2-This is probably the hardest card of the set to evalueate,a 2/3 on turn 1 against Aggro can be game winning the problem is that the Deathrattle is really really annoying to deal with and will probably dissipate any kind of advantage you could have gained with the 2/3 so I guess it's worth trying but I don't think it'sZombie Chow level of good...
Just glancing only at your star rating examples, you place doomsayer at 4 above tar creeper at 3? Tar creeper has seen play in pretty much every deck that isn't aggro because it's such a strong anti-aggro tool (and strong minion in general), and it's even seen play in some aggro decks because it works well to protect your turn 1 + 2 board development. Doomsayer used to be more common but is only seen occasionally on the fringes of the meta these days.
Anyway, your ratings are largely pretty good I think. Where I disagree with you, it's mainly because I think you've underrated something (but there a few things I think you've slightly overrated too). Pretty good overall!
Oh also, in response to your review of Ice Cream Peddler, while this is a very reasonable review, I'll use this opportunity to plug my Ice Cream Shaman (see my signature) which is definitely going to break the meta...
You are dead wrong about Zuljin. Card is an easy 5 star card. Christmas tree plus full board will be played in every spell hunter deck alongside dk rexxar. Also dead wrong about Dragon's Roar. Almost strictly better then running a copy of a dragon and acts as suedo-draw via card generation, making it an extremely powerful card. Also wrong about Jeklik and both Pally legendaries for what seems like obvious reasons. You're probaly very off the mark about a bunch of other cards as well as I just skimmed the review and felt you obviously don't have a good grasp about the game. A shit review, 1 star.
This is actually the first review (from the hearthpwn community) that I can agree with. People are overrating too much the cards this time around.
The only ratings that I disagree are:
Masked Contender, I believe this card can be REALLY strong because secrets are REALLY strong.
High Priestess Jeklik, I also believe that this card is strong enough to carry a type of discard lock back to the meta, probably a 4 mana different version of Silverware Golem that also has Taunt, Lifesteal and duplicates itself!

I'm not saying Tar Creeper isn't a really really good card, I mean, it's damn good against aggro on curve but overall it's just solid while turn 2 Doomsayer against Zoo/Odd Paladin is game winning... Also Tar Creeper late game is nothing special while Doomsayer still has uses...
I'm not saying Zul'jin is bad card, heck I gave it a 4 that's a damn good rating for me,but why would you want to switch from Rexxax to this? Sure it'll play 5 Secrets and fill your board with 3/3s but that's only gonna happen against Control Deck and against those you want to keep your infinite value Hero Power... Also a board of 3/3s is probably way easier to deal with than endless fatties... As for Dragon Roar the card itself it's not bad but I just don't think non-Odd Dragon Warrior will be a thing even though I hope to be proven wrong here... If Discardlock gains traction the card will see some play for sure but it's not ever gonna be game winning, you'd be ok even without it thus the 2... As for Pally's cards, the LOA needs setup to be played at reasonable mana cost and beside healing you and trading like 1 minion isn't gonna do much certainly not enough to justify having to build your Deck around it... As for Thekal I get that it's good on curve cause it enables your healing cards but it doesn't impact the board and it loses most of its power if played later in the game... Also,no Turn 3 Thekal followed by Moltens in Wild isn't a a good reason to give 5 to just a decent card...
And Drakkari Trickster is at least a 2-3 star card. Will replace Blink Fox in Odd Rogue for sure.
Even assuming it does, which I doubt since your giving your opponent a card just for 1 HP and also that's a niche Epic that not everyone will be willing to craft,it doesn't make the card much better,it might make it a 2 but it's not even remotely close to be considered a 3...
There's a one mana difference between the two cards which is huge, especially early in the game, and Mad Scientist doesn't require any kind of setup... It's been 3 years since its release and Mad Scientist still see play in Wild,do you think Masked Contender will see play there as well? I don't think so...
So I understand that you'll skip this expansion entirely and quit playing until next april's rotation, right?
Actually this is the first expansion since JTU that I like... I know from ratings it seems like I think the whole set sucks but that's not true at all... The ratings are based solely on what I think we'll be meta and played on ladder... The fact that I gave some cards a low rating doesn't mean I'm not going to play them... If someone asked me to rate.let's say, Tortollan Primalist I'd give the card 1 yet I "wasted" 800 dust on a playset just to do stupid stuff like seeing the minion cast Meteor on itself or even better Pyroblast my own face....
Savagery)
2-Good for meme Decks and could see some fringe play in ladder (i.e. Bone Drake)

4-Sees play in mutliple ladder Decks and can be game winning at times (i.e. Doomsayer)
5-Broken,will need a nerf at some point (i.e. Mad Scientist)
Druid
Gonk, the Raptor
1-Too slow and I don't see why you would want to facetank everything your opponent plays...
Wardruid Loti

Stampeding Roar
2-6 mana Tyrantus or Hadronox I guess? Not that bad but probably not even worth a slot in every Deck ...
Treespeaker
2-Good when you manage to get the battlecry off but making a board of treants stick seems kinda hard right now...
Predatory Instincts
1- I guess you could tutor Hadronox with this but we're in a world where Juicy Psychmelon and Master Oakheart exists so this seems pretty useless to me... Also you want Hadronox to die not to have 14 HP...
Mark of the Loa
1-If it cost 3 it'd be so much better but a 4 mana it's just bad outside of maybe Arena...
Spirit of the Raptor
1-Druid doesn't need to facetank stuff to draw cards...
Ironhide Direhorn
1- If only this had Rush or the Token had Taunt... I guess you could try using it with Stampeding Roar but it would still be slow and leave your face vulnerable...
Savage Striker
1-Synergy with DK Heropower I suppose? Other than that I don't see what you could do with Savagery on a stick because no Heropower Druid isn't and won't ever be a thing...
Pounce
2-This is not a 1 just because it costs (0) and Gadgetzan Auctioneer exists, other than cycling I don't think this is gonna do much...
Hunter
Zul'jin
4-This rating is based solely on the effect of the card, which is obviously good especially since a lot of Hunter cards do not target, but I doubt it'll see much play until the DK rotates...
Halazzi, the Lynx
2-Good for everyone who wants to play Quest Hunter but I doubt the Deck will ever be much more than a meme...
Master's Call
2- Spell version of Stitched Tracker that could potentially draw 3 cards in a beast based Deck (or if you're like me just draw the 3 buffed Huffers you shuffled into your Deck earlier that game) but without a body it's probably too slow for Hunter...
The Beast Within
1-Windfury-like effect for Hunter? I just can't see why you would want to play this...
Bloodscalp Strategist
2-It's a nice follow up to a Headhunter's Hatchet on turn 2 but the stats are kind meh and Hunter doesn't have that many good spells... Still worth a try in Secret Hunter though...
Spirit of the Lynx
1-Just too slow and with too little upside to see play especially in a class like Hunter that can't afford the Tempo loss that this card would cause... Also,Prince Keleseth says hello...
Revenge of the Wild
3-I think this card is a bit overrated...
Baited Arrow
1- Horrible, just plain horrible and also overcosted... Also, overkill is a crappy mechanic in my opinion...
Headhunter's Hatchet
3-Not as good as Candleshot but still pretty good... Aggro likes 6 dmg for 2 mana and slower Decks can use this to get rid of pesky early game minions, the only downside is that you can't play this and Prince Keleseth in the same Deck...
Springpaw
3-Gives Midrange[/card]Beast Hunter a turn 1 play to curve into Crackling Razormaw and also a ping to use later in the game... Not as good as Alleycat but will certainly help Hunter deal with Paladin or Zoo...
Mage
Hex Lord Malacrass
2- Azalina-like effect so it could be used as tech against Control Decks but not much more...
Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk
3-It will be devastating when played on curve but that won't happen often and it's useless against Token Decks... Still, the effect is pretty easy to trigger even for non-odd Decks so I'm sure it'll see play in both Odd and Big Spell Mage...
Blast Wave
2-2 dmg for 5 mana is pretty terrible but right now the meta is flooded with Token Decks,so it'll probably draw you a couple of cards too,not even remotely as good as other Mage's AOEs but not completely awful...
Splitting Image
2-All I can think of when I see this card is that it pollutes the pool of my Arcane Keysmiths...
Scorch
3-4 dmg for (4) mana is okay and 4 dmg for (1) is insane so if a tempo based Elemental Deck will pop out this will certainly be played in there...
Pyromaniac
2- 3/4 for 3 is a premium statline but you'll need to wait at least a turn to use the effect and it'll get removed most of the time so I don't think it'll have that much impact...
Spirit of the Dragonhawk
2-Okay card but Heropower Mage isn't a thing and you don't need this to trigger the LOA so I guess this card will see some fringe play but not much more...
Arcanosaur
3-A bit overcosted (because you know,Jaina) but still a really solid card especially with Elemental Evocation... It'll certainly be used in Elemental Mage and personally I'd try to fit it even in Big Spell...
Daring Fire-Eater
2-As with the spirit I think it'll see some fringe play (probably in Odd Mage more than anything) but that's it...
Elemental Evocation
3- If it wasn't a bad topdeck and useless on its own I would've given it a 4,right now it's more like 3.5... It costs (0) which alone makes it good and it will certainly lead to some ridiculous board states... I bet we'll see a lot of nerf threads for this....
Paladin
Shirvallah, the Tiger
2-You can't play this in anything that is even remotely fast and all it does is probably just remove a minion and heal you, after the Divine Shield has been popped 5 HP isn't much so it'll get killed pretty easily.... Not horribly bad but underwhelming for a Legendary card...
High Priest Thekal
2-Again,I find the effect to be boring, especially for a Legendary...
Immortal Prelate
2-I don't think Quest Paladin will ever be more than just a meme and beside Spikeridged Steed what can you with this card? It's just a ball of stats... Even if,somehow, this becomes meta everyone will just double up on Silence and the problem will be solved...
Farraki Battleaxe
1-Do I reallly need to add something? Bad mechanic on top of an already bad weapon that also as a negligible effect... One of the worst cards of the set,I bet I'll open a golden playset of this...
Zandalari Templar
3- Paladin's version of Hooked Reaver maybe not as easy to activate but still a decent card for slower Decks...
Spirit of the Tiger
3-One of the best spirit cards,if not dealt with it'll give you back the tempo you lost on almost immediately.... Playing this on turn 5,followed by Spikeridged Steed on turn 6 is gonna be brutal...
Time Out!
2-Tech card for Exodia Paladin or for Control builds against OTKs not much more to say here...
Flash of Light
3-Heal against Aggro (that also goes towards Zandalari Templar and maybe even the Spellstone) and cycle against Control, overall decent card wouldn't probably see play in other classes (cough Druid cough) but Paladin lacks card draw so it's passable...
Bloodclaw
4- 1 mana 2/2 I don't think there's much more to say,the downside is nothing compared to tempo you gain with this card...
Priest
Princess Talanji
2-I bet this will end up on Trolden more than once and it could be fun to meme with but I doubt it'll see ladder play...
Bwonsamdi, the Dead
1-Ehrm just no,right now this would need an insane amount of effort make it work so until they release more support for it it's gonna be pretty useless...
Surrender to Madness
1-Even if we put aside the horrible Tempo loss that is playing this card why would you want to buff your minions as Priest? The best performing Decks for the class have like 5 minions each...
Auchenai Phantasm
3-This+COH is gonna be a godsend against Aggro and it also synergyzes well with Regenerate and Prophet Velen...
Grave Horror
3- Most Priest Decks play a lot of spells so most of the times this is gonna be a well statted cheap taunt, nothing too flashy but it's gonna do it's job...
Mass Hysteria
4-AOE for Priest enough said...
Spirit of the Dead
2- Okay card for Quest Priest that I bet will lead to some weird combos but I don't it'll make the Quest that much better and I doubt the wombo combos with this card will be anything ladder worthy...
Sand Drudge
1-If the Token were 1/2 s it'd be good but 1/1s are way too easily dealt with and on its own it's useless so I doubt it'll see play...
Seance
2-Might be okay in Big Priest to get additional value (in case you ever need that) but that's it...
Regenerate
3- As for Mage and Druid (0) cost cards are good by default just because you don't need to spend mana to play them and on top of that you have synergy with both Auchenais and Lyra... It's not gonna be meta defining but I bet some lists will run it...
Rogue
Captain Hooktusk
2-The only iteration of Pirate Rogue I can think of is a fairly aggressive one so I don't think it would run this card, still this draws 3 specific cards and plays them so it's not completely awful...
Gral, the Shark
1-You're paying 5 mana to,maybe, draw a random minion wow... I guess this could lead to some shenanigan with Necrium Blade and Malygos but it's so inconsistent I wouldn't even dare calling that a Deck....
Gurubashi Hypemon
1-Costs too much and there are so many Battlecry minions that the chances of getting something useful are ground low... Also, why the heck isn't this a Pirate?
Cannon Barrage
2-This might and I underline might see play if Pirate Rogue ever becomes a thing but even in that case it's gonna be pretty hard to make it work without Prep... Obviously Prep+this on turn 3/4 would be game winning but that's unlikely to happen often and it doesn't make the standalone card any less bad...
TL;DR This card sucks and if it ever sees it'll be all just because of Prep...
Spirit of the Shark
4-Yes,4 mana is a lot but if set up well the upsides are huge... Pogo-Hoppers with this are scary and so is Kingsbane that would get double buffs... And obviously there's Wild where this can be abused even better...
Raiding Party
3-If comboed this tutors 3 cards which is insane for 3 mana especially in Kingsbane where it draws both the weapon and the buffs,I'm gonna hate this card so much.... Oh yeah and I suppose you can use it in a Pirate Deck but I doubt that'll happen...
Walk the Plank
3-Vilespine Slayer won't be around forever so this is a decent substitute.... It doesn't come with a 3/4 and can't kill damaged minions but it's still nice for a class that doesn't really have hard removals...
Stolen Steel
1-The pool of weapons you can get from this isn't even that bad but why would want to run this card and instead of what? I mean, how does this help your Deck's strategy? Beside Arena shenanigans I don't see this being played at all...
Serrated Tooth
3-It'll be nice to have a turn 1 play other than Fire Fly,since it costs (1) you can use it to activate combos and you can also break it to trigger the Deathrattle... I would personally try it in Miracle, giving Rush to all those Spiders would be really nice...
Shaman
Krag'wa, the Frog
4-Boring but effective and splashable ability... It will draw you 1/2 or even 3 cards while putting a decently statted body on the board so I see this card being a staple in all of the class' slower Decks...
Zentimo
4-Who wouldn't want double Hex or Unstable Evolution? As with the other Legendary I don't see any reason not to run this everywhere...
Haunting Visions
3-Shaman's got its own Glyph! It's basically a (0) cost discover effect so it will be played for sure,I didn't give it a higher rating just because half the Shaman spells suck...
Big Bad Voodoo
2-Worse version of Unstable Evolution, the only uses I can see are with Reincarnate or using it right before trading into a minion otherwise it's just too slow...
Spirit of the Frog
1-3 mana 0/3 draw 1/2 cards? Acolyte of Pain is probably still better and you have a Tutor for spell cards so this isn't really needed...
Bog Slosher
3- Vanilla statline, good effect and a tribal tag nothing special but will most likely see play somewhere...
Likkim
1-Everywhere this is rated very high but I don't see why...
Rain of Toads
3-Maybe not in double copy but I guess both Shudderwock and Even would want to run this also it's insane when you get it from Haunting Visions... I think this card shows how busted Spreading Plague is... That card could potentially net you a 7/35 for 6 mana while this gets you "just" 6/12 for 3 more mana...
Totemic Smash
3-1 Mana for 2 dmg (that can go face) is decent enough to see play probably but I find overkill effect useless and irrelevant...
Wartbringer
1-The effect is probably too conditional too see play... 2 spells are not difficult to cast in the same turn but why would I cut another card to play this? If the effect doesn't proc it's a vanilla 2/1,had it been an Elemental it would've been okay but like this I don't think it'll be used...
Warlock
Hir'eek, the Bat
1-Requires way too much set up and would just summon an Alanna-like board and that gets cleared 80% of the times...
High Priestess Jeklik
1-Even if Discardlock finally started working I don't think it would run this... It has barely passable stats and the effects are not even that good...
Void Contract
2-It might and I underline might see play as a tech card in a really really slow and combo oriented meta but other than that you wouldn't want to run this...
Soulwarden
2-If a slower version of Discardlock starts working this might be played in one copy just in case you end up discarding stuff like Gul'dan because it seems too slow for an Aggressive Deck...
Spirit of the Bat
1-Just garbage... Handbuff Paladin,Warrior and Hunter have never been a thing and I highly doubt such an awful mechanic will work with Warlock...
Shriek
3-Now Warlock doesn't need this but when Defile rotates it'll be played for sure... 1 mana for 2 dmg AOE is really good and any other class would gladly play this card right away...
Grim Rally
3- I think this has the potential to spawn another Zoo variation based on Eggs and stuff like Defender of Argus and maybe even Dark Iron Dwarf... Obviously it's gonna be way worse without Power Overwhelming but it's worth a try imo...
Demonbolt
1-Zoo doesn't need this and there's no way this will ever be better than Siphon Soul for a Control Deck...
Blood Troll Sapper
2- I guess you could try one copy as a finisher in a more Token based Zoo but I think the best use of this card is to meme in Wild...
Reckless Diretroll
2-If the more controllish version of Discardlock mentioned above works this might see play in it even though 2/6 is probably okay even in the current iteration of Zoo...
Warrior
Akali, the Rhino
1- Horrible statline for its cost and negligible effect...
War Master Voone
2-If some kind of Dragon Warrior Deck arises I think it'll be an Odd Deck so you won't be able to run this card in there, other than that I think the effect is okay but right now there are not enough good dragons to justify running this....
Sul'thraze
1-As with the Paladin weapon, overcosted with a terrible keyword and a not so good effect...
Smolderthorn Lancer
3-Execute on a stick with an easy enough condition to fulfill,if Dragon Warrior becomes a thing this will certainly be a staple in it but I'm not sure that's gonna happen...
Heavy Metal!
2-Geosculptor Yip slapped on a 6 mana spell nothing special here... It might be used in stuff like Big Warrior but I don't think it's gonna do much...
Emberscale Drake
3-Another overhyped card imo...
Spirit of the Rhino
2-I doubt Rush Warrior will be a standalone Deck so I wouldn't want to run this with just 3/4 Rush minions because that seems incosistent, also besideDarius Crowley I don't the immunity being that important... It costs (1) though so that's good at least...
Overlord's Whip
2- 3 mana for a 2/4 weapon is okay but the effect isn't that great and certainly this card alone isn't enough to push Enrage Warrior (Yes,I know Enrage isn't a keyword anymore)...
Dragon Roar
2- Chances this card lowrolls are ground low so you'll most likely get some value out of it,on the other hand even if most dragons are big their effects (beside those of Alexstrasza and Ysera) are pretty useless, especially to a class like Warrior and obviously the card is a dead draw against Aggro...
Devastate
3-1 mana for 4 dmg is really good but it does need an activator which makes its value lower a bit... Still a solid card that will be played for sure...
Neutral
Hakkar, the Soulflayer
2-Horribly slow and countered by Skulking Geist but offers a win condition to Decks that didn't have one before...
Oondasta
2-Yet another overrated card,it might be used in Deathrattle Hunter but that's it, I just don't see this in Odd Decks to pull Baku and can't see what else you can do with this...
Da Undatakah
2-Overreated card #5...
Mojomaster Zihi
3-Again overrated card... It's most likely gonna see play but it's not even remotely as broken as people make it out to be... It slows down Combo Decks (which is really nice) and gives Aggro the chance to compete against some Control Decks... Overall a good card with a pretty creative effect that I'm curious to try...
Griftah
1-This was made just to end up on Trolden... I guess you could try to make your opponent overdraw with this card but that's a stretch...
Crowd Roaster
3-Crappy HP but high ATK so it has to be removed and really nice effect (7 dmg takes out 90% of minions) it'll be a staple in Dragon Decks...
Linecracker
1-Arena card no way this will ever see constructed play...
Mosh'Ogg Announcer
2-Aggressive statline and effect that makes it annoying to remove,it's not likely but some Aggro Decks might try to run it...
Snapjaw Shellfighter
1-Well you could try this in Token decks I guess but I doubt it'd be worth it...
Ice Cream Peddler
1-Horrible tech against Freeze Mage no one would ever use that if even the Deck was everywhere...
Untamed Beastmaster
1-Well okay I guess, the statline for a 3 drop is good and it might even buff a card but that's it there's no way people would run this in anything other than maybe Quest Hunter...
Masked Contender
2-Might be worth trying in Secret Hunter since it curves into turn 2 Secret (that no one ever procs) and draws you a card and maybe even in Mage even though it'd be less reliable there...
Drakkari Trickster
1-Just a meme card...
Gurubashi Offering
1-Worse version of Doomsayer, there's no reason to ever run this card...
Firetree Witchdoctor
2-The effect is good the problem is that just 2 classes can afford to play Dragons and those are Warrior and Priest in the latter the card is gonna be okay but in the former not so much... Still kinda decent and I'm a sucker for Dragons so I'll desperately try to make this work...
Shieldbreaker
1-Why would ever run this instead of normal Silence? The only reason I can see is that you want to crush the hopes and dreams of every single buff Paladin out there, other than that this card is useless...
Belligerent Gnome
1-Unless you're against Odd Paladin it's highly unlikely you'll get to trigger the battlecry on curve and later in the game a minion with 2 ATK is rather useless so you're much better off just running Doomsayers...
Soup Vendor
1-Might be tried in some version of Miracle Priest but I doubt that would work
Arena Patron
1-Meme,not even worth picking in Arena...
Murloc Tastyfin
1-Paladin has Divine Favor for card draw and Shaman has the Quest so I don't think this will be played much...
Waterboy
1-Having misread the card the first time I saw it I thought Machine Gun Anduin would be back but thankfully it says "next" so it doesn't work that way and makes the card pointless...
Booty Bay Bookie
1-Well I guess you can use this to make the opponent overdraw other than that I don't think it's worth the risk just for a 3/3...
Serpent Ward
1-Just no... Also, why is this a Toten? And since it's a Toten why isn't it a Shaman card?
Mosh'Ogg Enforcer
1-"Lemme change your mind!" Cabal aside it dies to Mossy Horror and 2 ATK for 8 mana is pitiful I highly doubt it's gonna see play outside of Arena...
Amani War Bear
1-Okay Arena card but not enough to be played on ladder...
Rabble Bouncer
2-If the meta gets even more flooded by Token Decks this might be played but 2 ATK is still bad and it you're pretty much never paying this less than 3/4 mana which is barely okay...
Dragonmaw Scorcher
3-Whirlwind on a stick and with a tribal tag,it's gonna see some play for sure...
Former Champ
1- Pack Filler...
Sightless Ranger
1- Again horrible stats, effect and horrible keyword...
Half-Time Scavenger
1-There are way better ways to get armor or heal...
Arena Fanatic
1-The effect isn't worth such a terrible statline, also Handbuff has always been a terrible mechanic imo...
Ticket Scalper
1-Bad stats and bad keyword even if it somehow draws you a couple of cards it's still not worth it...
Arena Treasure Chest
1-Too slow even for Egg Decks...
Rumbletusk Shaker
2-Basically a 4 mana 6/4 spilt over two bodies,it's not great but not that horrible either some Deck in search for sticky minions might give it a try...
Regeneratin' Thug
1-Pack Filler...
Banana Buffoon
2-Maybe it can be tried in Zoo or some Token Deck, also it can complete Mage's Quest...
Ornery Tortoise
1-3/5 isn't much better than 3[/card]4 and that 1 stapoint isn't worth 5 HP...
Dozing Marksman
1-The sleeper of the set,we all know that...
Cheaty Anklebiter
1-Pack Filler...
Sharkfin Fan
3-This is gonna be sooo annoying, especially in Rogue, it will need to be killed ASAP or it will snowball out of control... I'm glad it's not a 2/3...
Scarab Egg
3-Nerubian Egg got a little brother! This is certainly gonna see play in some Zoo lists and wouldn't be surprised if another Egg based Deck came out...
Spellzerker
1-The only class that could damage is Warrior and Warrior doesn't need Spelldamage...
Saronite Taskmaster
2-This is probably the hardest card of the set to evalueate,a 2/3 on turn 1 against Aggro can be game winning the problem is that the Deathrattle is really really annoying to deal with and will probably dissipate any kind of advantage you could have gained with the 2/3 so I guess it's worth trying but I don't think it'sZombie Chow level of good...
Gurubashi Chicken
1-Meme...
Helpless Hatchling
2-Why isn't this a Hunter card? If Midrange Hunter makes a comeback this is probably gonna be tried in some Decklists...
"この 先は 暗い 夜道 だけが も 知らない それでも信じて 進むんだ 星が その道 を 少し でも 照らしてくをるのを"
Only few cards that are rated with 4??? You are probably the one who said 2 mana prince and star aligner is shit xd
1 star review.
Pretty bad review.
1 Star.
Have to agree - 1 star review. It's as if you never played Hearthstone before.
Some I disagree with and some I agree with. It's nearly impossible for everybodies predictions to be the same. Good read and nice job!

I've gotta see a review someday that isn't just people saying "I wouldn't replace X in my stale meta deck right now, so this cards stinks".
Good review IMO.
Care to elaborate? I can't stand these posts where people just say "You suck" without giving explanations...
"この 先は 暗い 夜道 だけが も 知らない それでも信じて 進むんだ 星が その道 を 少し でも 照らしてくをるのを"
Holy Wrath is more then enough of a buildaround for Shrivallah.
And Drakkari Trickster is at least a 2-3 star card. Will replace Blink Fox in Odd Rogue for sure.
I like your view on the warrior cards. But I am not sure, since the lack of carddraw, that the Spirit will see much play
I hope I misread your post, because that's clearly nothing than a meme even with Hemet around...
Even assuming it does, which I doubt since your giving your opponent a card just for 1 HP and also that's a niche Epic that not everyone will be willing to craft,it doesn't make the card much better,it might make it a 2 but it's not even remotely close to be considered a 3...
"この 先は 暗い 夜道 だけが も 知らない それでも信じて 進むんだ 星が その道 を 少し でも 照らしてくをるのを"
Mad Scientist - 5, broken
Masked Contender - 2, meme
I think it says everything about this review.
You are far too negative in this review IMO.
There's a one mana difference between the two cards which is huge, especially early in the game, and Mad Scientist doesn't require any kind of setup... It's been 3 years since its release and Mad Scientist still see play in Wild,do you think Masked Contender will see play there as well? I don't think so...

Or you can just see them as a combo.
Turn 2 - mad Scientist
Turn 3 - Masked Contender
They make eachother better.
