Hunters that i see on ladder do run both. Redundancy is important. Mechwarper is better with cheaper mechs, while galvanizer is better with midrange ones and mecha'thun. Otherwise they are equally good for combo And if you deck is control type then neither is probably the answer.
I would also argue that it's worth taking both, especially if you're running a bunch of 3-6 cost mechs as getting them out early can be really tough to deal with. If you're choosing between, Mechwarper is the better choice IMO outside of specific combos where you need to lower a mech for an OTK or something.
Mechwarper has snowball potential, much more so than Galvanizer and is slightly a less worse top deck than a 1/2 minion. Galvanizer also doesn't help you curve out your plays if drawing a mech minion that normally would be one mana higher than what you would normally be able to spend, unlike Mechwarper.
It doesn't seem like a good idea to run both, which do you guys think is the better card?
Mechwarper by a landslide.

I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
Standard: Galvaniser
Wild: Mechwarper
Mecathun decks: Galvaniser
General Mech decks: Why not take both?

If you're playing an aggressive mech deck, always run both and hard mulligan for them. You can dump your whole hand by turn 4 typically.
If there are any cards in your opening hand that aren't Mechwarper or Galvanize, chuck 'em.
