Been saving since a couple weeks since Boomsday. Have around 3000 gold and 2000 dust at the moment. Might do a couple of arena runs when it's the Dual-Class thing. Aside from that though everything will go towards the next expansion.
Yep, have 5k gold, 30k dust, 95% boomsday collection rare and below only. Though will spend when dual class arena arrives until i get a legendary. So minus about 3k gold for that.

Will this dual class arena give you better rewards than the usual one or is it just about fun?
I will open Boomsday packs until get a legendary, many packs open and the pity counter is high, after that I start saving for the next expansion
This is also my strategy; I track the pity counter for each addon (epic is 10 and legendary is 40). I'm at 29 in this addon, so I have to buy a few more.
I have 2100 gold right now, although I've admittedly bought some packs since I started saving. I usually buy the pre-order bundle and then spend whatever gold I have on packs.
I start saving by the end of the month when the new expansion hit (and try to not spend all of the gold I possess[ed]). Currently sitting at 8,5k gold and more than 10k dust. I'd recommend saving up at least 2 months ahead of the new expansion (grants you about 3,5k just through questing alone).
Normally I start saving after the first month into the new expansion, but since I packed 7 legendaries in the first 2 weeks of the Boomsday Project, I considered I had enough and thus I started saving earlier. Currently I'm at 2.6k and will continue to hoard until the next expansion kicks.
I still want to posses more legies though (DR. Boom, Zilliax, Soularium), but I fear falling into the pity timer and getting a bad one at the end. I crafted myself Whizbang the Wonderful, so the pool of desirable legendaries got reduced.
I generally start saving for the next expansion the day after the last expansion drops. Usually I have gold saved up to get me enough packs to get the cards I need, and if I don't I will just play arena and gain more packs until i do.
I do this a little organically. I use my stashed gold to buy packs when it drops, then I craft the legends after about a week that I feel I need. From there I watch the meta and deck lists and come up with any desired crafts. After I have all the cards I feel like I want the most I’ll keep buying packs till I get a legend and reset the pity timer. This time it happened about two weeks before the LK event dropped.
Sitting at 900 dust and 1400 gold as of now. I’ll probably clear another 2k dust from brawl packs, random events, and the pre-expansion gold card DE fest I normally do.
I started playing with WW, knowing (after an extensive research and study on forums and websites) that it would take me a year to get in the meta without spending a fortune right away.
I bought 2 Booms bundles, and few get in bundles, the welcome bundle. Now I'm patiently waiting for the new HS year, I'm sitting on my empire of 15k dust and 6k gold (plus tons of legendaries I still have to disenchant as soon as the 4 sets are rolling to wild), ready to jump in the meta with at least 4 top decks.
But this is just me, I knew from the beginning my path and how to build my empire.
I start to save for the next expansion as soon as one releases. Preorder + the gold is always enough to craft the ones I need and don't open. Opening something you seek is such a low chance it doesn't make sense to spend gold on packs, just craft it.
i recently opened Mecha'thun and then crafted that last Giggling Inventor and then was done. the pitty timer has recet, and so now is as good a time as any to save up, hopefully i can have 10,000 gold by the time the exp hits. but it is a shame i only have 40 dust :/

Third option: I don’t save anything at all, I usually just buy the preorder bundle(s).
just gonna play arena until I open dr boom or have enough dust to craft him, then I will start saving.
That's Incredible!

Both. Its fun and higher than normal win rate (same rewards) when you adapt early.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

Don't need to save gold, I've got 56,000 dust stockpiled already :)
