For those of you that either got him as a "free" golden legendary or crafted him. Is he worth it? Is it him in the Hero Portrait with unique emotes during games? Or is it the class hero from the recipe deck?
Thinking about crafting him since I got ultra lucky on my pack opening and think I deserve a prize lol. (12 legendaries + 1 golden legendary in 134 packs).
As cool as it would have been to see whizbang in the hero portrait, and it feels like a missed opportunity, ultimately I think it was the right call not to show whizbang to your opponent. There will be lots of good players trying to show off their skill by playing whizbang to legend, and it would be nearly impossible if your opponent knew your exact deck recipe in the mulligan phase.
Whizbang is already a fun card that is not powerful. Giving your opponent all that info would make it unplayable at rank 5+.
Whizbang the Wonderful is the only thing that needs to be gold in order to make the entire deck gold. When you go to make your deck just pick a random hero and click Whizbang the Wonderful and he will auto complete the deck and you'll be ready to go!
He is the first and probably only legendary I've ever crafted a golden version of. His gold artwork is just too good and I love that it makes the whole deck and hero gold.
Does anyone knows if you need to have only Whizbang the Wonderful golden or all cards in your deck so to give you a full Golden deck from recipes?
Only need Whizbang. I pulled from a pack. Looks like he uses the current deck recipes (haven't played all the decks by far, but at the end of a game, he said: if you like this deck, try _________ deck recipe). Still, golden deck + portrait is neat-o!
The free gold legendary was Whizbang for me today. It's a gold deck.
Odd note: I tested the Gold Whizbang against the computer and it picked for me Kangor Paladin -- which I landed every card for in my collection. Hey Whiz, I thought you'd give me stuff to try I don't already own.
I said to my friends that from the get go I was going for Golden Whizbang. I got regular Whizbang, which I dusted and crafted the Golden version. It's like the one card where if you *are* going to craft it, you may as well get the golden version. If you're playing him, it's not going to be for serious play, you're playing him to have fun and experiment and just dick around. It's worth it then. It's also the first and only legendary card I would actually go out of my way to craft as Golden.
thats what I'm debating. I mean atm everything seems pretty cool. But give it two weeks will he even be fun anymore? I admit I do want to craft him and Dr. Boom lol
Packed a Golden Whizbang and couldn't be happier! Works as advertised. Played one game, got a golden warrior mech deck which was fun to play, but I got trounced by a better constructed deck in one game on ladder.
I wanted golden Whizbang as well and lucky lucky got it from one of my packs. Played two games with him, both the shaman decks (I think they where, maybe the same as the first time hearthstone suggested I should craft it, the second time it didn't, saw a lot of different cards both playthroughs so that was nicec.) and to have a golden deck is really nice and adds something for me. It is a fun little card, you can have golden decks till the end of hearthstone for only 3200 dust and it is also a good craft for playing some cards or decks you can't or don't want to craft.

TLDR: Should I craft Golden Whizbang the Wonderful?
Not him, you get a random deck from the deck recipes. Don't think either player can tell you got the deck through him.
I think it is wonderful. I just played a game and it makes your hero gold too hehe :D
if you love golden cards craft him but don't expect to win in ranked every time
I opened a golden one in my packs. It’s super cool! Would recommend, though the decks provided (as you can probably guess) aren’t optimal.
10/10 Fun factor
Hm... If that's the case, Blizzard had such a missed opportunity on making him even better =/
his decks are actually pretty decent atm

It's nice to be IMPORTANT,
But it's more important to be NICE!
Whizbang only. He spawns cards, therefore they take his properties, not yours. IT WILL BE GOLD AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE!

I still can not to decide with him. is he really that wonderful?
I got it, it's funny to win with a random deck :D

That was one of my free Goldens. So freaking happy you have no idea!
