Against druid? No idea. There needs to be more context.
It's not always right to play an overly-small minion first turn against Priest. The issue is that if they play Northshire Cleric and you don't have a good way to remove it, they may end up drawing cards, but that also depends a lot on the deck you're playing against that priest. For example, if I had Firefly in a slower deck (I think a lot of Recruit Hunters will toss in Firefly to keep from getting too far behind), to fight for early tempo, I might not want to play it into a priest if I didn't have follow-up. In a faster deck like Odd Rogue, you could easily follow up with a weapon and clear the cleric.
Against Priest maybe, because of NOrthshire, but Druid doesn't have a card that punishes 1-drops. Even if you'd account for Wrath, most Druids will probably Wild Growth Turn 2, so it doesn't matter.
could someone simply explain because I have seen a lot of players advice not to play any card against druid in turn 1

Perhaps a 1 health minion because of Wrath? Even then doesnt make sense.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Where did you hear this? Please give an example
WTF? Could you be more specific about who said that? I have never read, nor listen, such a thing.
Maybe it was a brawl specific advice.
Check out my entry for this week's Card Design Competition. Vote for it if you like it.
Never heard this before. You got bad advice from someone.
good advise- druid players
probably in evenlock to get a giant early (?)
that makes very little sense.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
if it's needed for a combo later or you will get more value holding it keep it in your hand, thats true for all classes
