I don’t remember my first mistake since I have been playing so long, but there have been pleanty of disenchants that I have felt like a moron for latter. But one misplay I made actually not too long ago that was so dumb was I was playing the combo Dragon Priest deck from the last meta before witchwood. Decided to add an auctioneer which wasn’t the worst decision but I had him on board, trying to draw an extra Devine spirit by casting the one mana card that steals his dude for a turn on his doomsayers, so I could kill my opponent with my cleric. It wasn’t until I had 2 mana left that I realized I could have just Devine spirit and inner fires his doomsayers and killed him. Lost the next turn and took a week off from the game I got so salty with myself
I still make noob mistakes all the time, but silencing the 1/1 Y'Shaarj from Barnes was an eye opener for me. My favourite enemy mistake is dropping bittertide Hydra on an empty board vs shaman.
first mistake in hs? the whole playstyle of a newbie is wrong, not playing on curve, not using hp as a resource, not holding aoe for better times, not playing around cards I also hit rank 12 with a basic deck back at naxx release. if you mean a big mistake idk I actually managed my collection correctly since the begginning so no stupid crafts/disenchants.
Opened a golden Sylvanas when I first started playing, didn't realize the importance of her and disenchanted since I wanted the initial lump sum of dust to figure out what I wanted to play with. *sigh*
That was the correct decision. Whats the point of holding a card that is only useful in a 10k dust deck when you just need a single deck to start playing. if you had not disenchanted her then you would have nothing to play for 3-4 months.
This do not disenchant anything advice is very wrong for new players. For new players just try to get a deck to play.

Playing causual for so long, even after I got the whole classic collection - been playing since the game went live.
in my first few months playing I'd use stuff like Arcane Shot etc on my opponent's face turn 1 all the time if i had it
For me the most embarassing mistake was trying to coin out Mountain Giant...
It did hurt a lot since i couldnt play him the following turn either because i had one less card in hand.

That game makes no sense, bro :D
I used Frostbolt on my Gurubashi Berserker thinking I had lethal, but then it froze and I had to concede out of shame.
