This whole state of affairs calls into question the competence of the design team and the testing team. I'm spending 30 minutes in each Standard Ranked game watching this damn thing proc. It's absurd. Blizzard needs to hotfix this thing immediately.
If they nerf Shudder and offer the full refund for that card, they should also offer a full refund for grumble, since many (me!) crafted the pair together. If they nerfed shudder, there would be no reason to want grumble.... Kind of like the Raza thing. If they nerfed Raza, they should have offered a refund on Priest DK.

thats strange i fought over 20 shamans 14 of them were shudderwock. i was playing quest druid i beat all of the shudderwock shamans. it isnt broken.
Indeed, it is NOT broken powerlevel-wise (best decks of this sort atm have about 53% WR on HSReplay).
But it IS broken from a game experience point of view (the animations take too long, they should make them happen faster or something).
Exactly. It's also the hard counter to the real broken deck in the environment Warlock. If they fix the animation i'm okay with the deck as is because Warlock will have a real counter instead of how well you play the mirror match.

How about no? Grumble, Worldshaker is exactly the late game value Elemental Shaman (for which it's obviously designed for) so much needs. The card isn't just there to enable degenerate OTKs. They should change Saronite Chain Gang wording so it summons another 2/3 with Taunt, not "a copy of this minion". Problem solved. Although I could still see Shudderwock preventing Team 5 from printing any powerful Battlecry-Shaman minion in the future.

No, this would be an nerf to Saronite Chain Gang for Handbuff-decks in Wild. Instead Battlecry: Summon a Copy of Saronite Chain Gang would still give a +3/+3 Buff on Saronite chain gang create 2 5/6 ones, but not a copy of the minion itself.
In case of Shudderwock it would create a 6/6 Saronite Chain Gang instead of a copy of Shudderwock.
But even if the interaction does not get changed at all: the biggest issue is simply: THE FRICKING ANIMATION TIME!!!
Also you can skip a lot of the battlecry chain by clicking on the cards when they appear. Makes it go a lot faster.
THe power isn't the issue; it's the LONG stretch of having to sit and watch battlecries.
Go watch DisguisedToast's video. He did the Shudderwock/Grumble combo, ended up with a handful of 1 Mana Shudderwocks and started spamming them at the start of his turn. It ended up taking ten minutes for all of the battlecries to resolve. That's about six turns worth of just watching animations before you can keep playing.
I think the effect is a little overpowered, but not so very much that it breaks the game. It's the way the effect plays out which many see as problematic.
we will prolly be seeing a change to Saronite Chain Gang, not Shudderwock. Its like Defile and Dreadsteed. Sorry handbuff people, but its gonna must likely have to be "summon a 2/3 minion with taunt".
My guess is they'll change Chain Gang and Doppelgangster to work more like Echoing Ooze. They can't really change either of the legendaries without completely changing their effect, and they don't like changing legendaries anyways because that means they messed up on a major card and they have to give away more dust.
Thats actually a briliant idea. So combo wouldnt work in 1 turn which enables opponent to play around or kill the wock, also that nerf would not hit handbuff paladin in wild. i like that idea a lot.
I'm shocked. Not that they knowingly made a bad design decision but that someone, Ben Brode no less, has officially admitted it. Team 5's approach has always been to never admit fault and keep everyone in the dark about balance issues.
I'm also impressed by the number of people being deliberately obtuse about the issues with this card. Saying "it's beaten by X deck" or "there's not many people playing it right now" does not actually address the points people are making.
Guyss, life drinker + grumble + shdderwock = otk. Why you wanna nerf Saronite Chain Gang and Dopplegangster? They re good as they are, the problem is Shuddy

I wanna write her, name in the sky
I wanna free fall, out into nothin'
Gonna leave this, world for awhile
That is a troubling quote in that it suggests they knowingly let this card loose.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
*sigh* I hate it when what starts out as an assumption out of observations gets to be confirmed correct all along.
