another game decided by mind control tech in arena (a banned card, except it's totally back via the countless discover effects). Out of 4 minions it obviously takes the violet worm, not the 1/1, 2/2-s...
Long time ago i wrote something about the highlander decks, and how cards like Reno Jackson or Kazakus were obnoxious for the game, creating some bs archetype that just wins out of nowhere. I was glad that rotation brought that shit into wild. 4 years after they decided would be fun to have highlander decks in standard again, for some reasons. Started to play some games a lot after the expansion came out, because i knew highlander decks would be a thing at some point, and here we go again. Not only they gave support to each class for highlander archetypes, but introduced Zephrys the Great too, that imho is just as broken as kazakus. 4 years later, same bs again. And again, the same question: "Why someone should play a deck that is not highlander if the highlander deck of that class is the best deck of that class ? ". Highlander decks are a limit in terms of card design and deckbuilding. Blizzard, you'll never learn.
Just a developer question - if I save my coin until past turn 10 and I have a 9 cost minion that gets caught by freezing trap and now costs 11, why can't I play my coin and then play an 11 mana card?
This matchmaking feels soooo forced. As soon as I win two or three, Here you go get fucked son... Oh and all the big priests stuck at rank 9 or 10,.. Can't wait for tonight little fucks.
Why is it whenever I have quests that require me to win, I'll have to grind out wins with good decks. But as soon as I get quests where I don't care about winning, just casting certain cards, I get all the opponents with bad decks that I would beat if I were playing my good decks? I mean come on!!

Turns 1-4 Priest AFK's Turn 5: "Greetings" *Double divine Hymn* Turn 6-9 Massive healing topdecks Turn 10: Andresupporte decides to start playing the game with the most degenerate of decks, and is gonna eat a report for being AFK
First game after nerfs is against control warrior. Kept his dr. broken in his mulligan. Same bullshit. Fuck u blizzard and anyone who plays this broken shit.
Is there supposed to be a downside to highlander decks? They always have zephyrs, Kazakas, Reno. I looked through my play history in wild for the last 30 days, EVERY highlander deck had Reno by turn 7.

this. warrior already stomps aggro and still has the same late game value like no other class.
Nerfs don't matter. Manipulated RNG makes everything else irrelevant. I just lost to a face Paladin in 7 turns playing control warrior. I got literally unplayable cards and he got perfect cards on curve. Happens almost every game. Costs of the cards don't matter if the cards you need are always buried or if they are spoon fed to you on curve. You don't play this game anymore - you watch it.
So I be have faced an additional 18 highlander decks today again all 18 have had Kazakhs, Reno, and zephyrs in top 15 cards and all had Reno by turn 7. This is amazing, does anyone else have any information around this? Shouldn’t I have faced a single player that didn’t manage to draw Reno by turn 7. Something feels off here.

Nothing is off. The system is working as programmed. There is nothing random about this game.
People who include Questing Explorer in their quest rogue deck deserve to have their account taken away from them.
Oh you're running a quest that LITERALY on average gets completed by turn 3-4? Oh, you're running a card that's only a River Croclisk if it's not literally in the top 5 cards in your deck? Oh, you just HAPPEN to ALWAYS have it in the top 5 cards of your deck? Every. Single. Fucking. Game?
Wow, you're so fucking skilled at this game. I wish I was as good as you.
Has someone out there done an analysis on Hearthstones matchmaking system?
I ask simply because in my opinion it's clearly designed in a certain way. For example, If I win a match I'm almost guaranteed to lose the next match. If by some chance I win two matches in a row I am usually paired against a tier 1 deck which is on curve. This has now happened so many times that it cannot simply be by chance. Also from reading comments on this thread I am clearly not alone.
My next observation follows on from this. If I design a really random deck it appears that the the matchmaking system really struggles to match me against decks. What happens is that I end up playing against all manner of decks which is actually pretty interesting and I usually progress quite well. However, if I choose for example, quest shaman (similar to the template in deck creation) I get a lot of unfavourable matchups against hunters, rogues and warriors and my progression is halted. When I create quest warlock, I almost always get unfavourable matchups against mages and warriors.
A lot of decks here get posted with the 'I reached legend with this deck'. Now from my points above I believe that this is because these people play these decks before they become popularised. This in turn means that the matchmaking system has insufficient data to 'matchmake' that deck to balance it out at a specific win rate. Once these decks inevitably get played to death by the net decking community the system has the data it needs to balance out its matchmaking. That is why most people see their progression slow down with most of these decks.
I wrote this here because to many people it will sound like a salty rant (usually the same people who think Donald Trump is doing a great job as president). But I am honestly interested in the statistical nature of it because from my small sample the matchmaking is not random. It follows a very specific pattern.
So I tried Wild for the first time this week, with a tier 1 deck (secret mage) and climbed all the way to rank 2.
These so called "Big Priests" everyone is complaining about are still there at rank 2. They don't need Barnes. They just casually remove and heal everything until turn 6 and then they summon a 5/5 obsidian statue/whatever to resurrect a million times.
Also, there are standard Control Warriors around at rank 2 Wild. Yeah..............

Yes, aggro hunter casual player, your deck is going to beat my meme thief priest deck by turn six. You can stop spamming “Greetings, Traveler.”
