Am I crazy for thinking there should be a card or a minion that silences your opponent's weapon? It's inherently unfair that there is no answer to the new paladin and rogue weapons (though paladin's weapon is clearly more manageable) . Plus, if you could silence their weapon, it would also count as another answer to pirate warrior and their weapon buffs.
Sure, we need a tech card for a Tier 4 deck don't see any play... <_<
Tech cards vs Tier 1 decks already a problem to find slots in any deck...
That said Harrison is a good tech vs rogue weapon, wait the last durability be used, rogue play the minion, draw the weapon again and play with full durability then play Harrison, you draw 3 cards and the rogue have to try draw again but you already have an advantage, but good luck with slot spend in tech weapon in a meta full of decks don't care about it.
I'm not asking it to be nerfed, I just think there should be an answer to every card and currently there is no direct answer to the rogue weapon. Playing taunts works but that doesn't take care of the weapon
Blizzard doesn't like silence mechanics reason why owl got nerfed to 3 mana and why we haven't seen any new silences.....we won't get a weapon silence nor do we need it.....if you lost to kingsbane rogue your deck was either way to greedy or the rogue got really lucky (if you don't run into leeching poison it's gg), as for Val'anyr just silence the minion and *poof* bye, bye weapon......don't know why It is a problem though only viable pala deck is aggro and they don't generally use Val'anyr

The paladin weapon is incredibly slow, and the rogue weapon requires like 6 additional cards to become useful. If you could just silence them after all that work, they'd be completely useless, although it would probably be fine since a weapon silencing effect is waaay too niche to run
To be serious, being able to destroy armor instantly would be akin to nuking all of a mage's spells or disabling healing. That's a MAJOR gut on specific classes. I can see mechanics that, say, do double damage to armor though, with, say, doing crap damage to health (5 attack, double damage to armor, half to hero health, just an example).
As a tech card ( like a 5/5 for 7 that nulls all armor) could always be interesting in a meta with greedy armor strategies . like boring braindead control armor warrior or now the druid.
Being able to silence the weapon would completely kill the deck. If you silenced Kingsbane early on the rogue auto loses and to top it all off they are left with a bunch of very weak weapon buff cards.
I don't think T5 is going to produce a card that instantly wins the game for the tech user in such an easy fashion. All that does is make the game even more of a coin flip, "Does my opponent have the single tech card that instantly causes me to lose? If not, then maybe I win."

Perhaps you shouldn't build a deck that relies on one card that much then? What you're saying is the same if I said "oh, I can't play quest mage at all because people run eater of secrets, eat my iceblock and I lose, so unfair". If your deck can be completely dismantled by one card, then it's not a very good deck.
What I'm saying is a card should not have no answer to it, as the rogue weapon currently does. Say they made a tech card that silences weapons and it makes the rogue weapon buff deck unplayable, that's not bad design, that's just a crappy deck. It's the same as if you made a deck with tons of small stuff and then one big minion with a plan to keep buffing that minion but then you cry when that minion gets destroyed by Anduin or vilespine. That wouldn't mean those cards are too strong, that would mean you have a designed a bad deck that relies on one card too much

How is the game maker to sell packs without their precious 'must-haves'? Do you want the game to die? We need Corridor Creeper, and whatever new 'must-have' emerges when they 'fix' the OP card they 'accidentally' printed.

By this logic, we are first of all entitled of a tech that REMOVES your current hero power for the rest of the game.

So then if it isn't a very good deck why are we even discussing that it should have a tech card against it?

I think it will happen eventually, If only to liberate space design for new weapons ideas.
I would rather steal it
The answer is rushing them down.
Not an automatic solution, but you are not supposed to win every matchup.
Also, tech cards are typically bad. I bet that you would end up replacing the card, because it would be a dead draw in the vast majority of games.

A card that makes you lose more? What could possibly go wrong?

I would prefer a tech that shred armor instead

unless they want to be the best they can be.
