Do you really see Shadowstrike played like, ever, though? I'm generally curious, because I don't recall the last time I saw that card outside of Arena...
It's a 2-of in the second most poplar (200+ upvotes) Rogue deck right now.
I'm not saying you're wrong - just that in all of the KB-Rogue decks I've played since the beginning of this expansion, I have literally never seen that card played. Maybe I'll start seeing it more now perhaps, who knows? Though obviously not after rotation of course ;-)
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End - Noooooo! Not Yogg! :-P It's so weird. I hated Yogg with a passion when he first came out. But since he got nerfed, I've fallen in love with this card. It's one of the most sad-to-see-go cards of this set for me. Which is weird, because it epitomises everything I hate about Hearthstone in terms of it's sheer gut-busting RnG board swinging and back-stabbing. But at the same time it's been the core of some of the most wild and enjoyable games of Hearthstone I have ever played.
Could it be because initial reactions are often purely emotional, having little to do with a complex card's true impact?
Could it be that you've finally realized that "Luck" is not a sentient entity that will work against you whenever a card with RNG enables it?
Could it be that players finally understand that managing random effects (and the statistics behind them) is a valid and necessary skill in Hearthstone?
Probably not. Unseasoned players love an easy scapegoat, and "luck" is one of the easiest.
I'm not entirely sure what your point is here. Which unseasoned player/s are you referring to?
I've been playing RnG-based games long enough to understand the value of "luck" in any game and how to leverage it to my own advantage where possible. Yogg is something different. It's not just "Roll a dice and see if you win". It's much more complex than that - and you have opportunities to swing the effects in your favour by board management, etc.
I'm referring to all the unseasoned players who called for the nerf.
I'm glad you eventually came around to a sensible viewpoint, and I think it's too bad that a lot of people never did.
Most of all, I think it's too bad that Blizzard will probably continue to consider the feelings and gut reactions of people who don't even understand the game and its underlying statistics, more highly than they consider the rational thoughts of those who do understand.

The loss of the old God's will hurt the N'zoth archetype decks (and to some extent spell heavy decks that use Yogg [IN YOGG WE TRUST]) but spiteful summoner will get way better in decks that have useful 10-mana spells as getting an old God atm with spiteful feels so bad because of there atrocious stat distribution (I know they are understated because of the battlecry effects).

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
That's not counting the neutral cards that are played in Shaman like Doppelgangster & Nerubian Prophet Combine that with the fact that the cards they've received in the last few sets are not great, and their classic/basic cards are among the worst in the game, Shaman will probably be down for most of 2018.

I didn't even think of this......with the atrocious freeze mechanic shaman got in lich king (Like seriously wtf was blizzard thinking with that mechanic.....utter garbage) evolve shaman won't even be useful.......i mean shaman can't even really utilize spiteful summoner. I could see overload shaman being ok but they still would need a card like lava shock to unlock crystals reliably......and maybe another board clear like Elemental Destruction.....poor shaman......2018 does look rough for them.....maybe Blizzard will give some murloc support for shaman to make the quest viable.....as long as the Murlocs are shaman specific Pala can't abuse them.

Yep it looks that Warlock will be real madness, the new expansion has to catch-up all loss... It means, that new cards for warlock will suck :/ hmmm long-short story
Yet look at what happened with priest. They still got Psychic Scream so...
It seems like a lot of classes, decks, and archetypes are going to be thoroughly gutted with this rotation.
Evolve Shaman is getting gutted with the loss of key cards like Evolve and Doppelgangster. I'm not particularly upset about this, as I never really liked the addition of the Evolve archetype.
Shaman is also losing access to Flamewreathed Faceless, White Eyes, Devolve, and Maelstrom Portal, which have been fairly popular as well, the former two being fairly important to a deck in combination with things like Ancestral Spirit and Sapphire Spellstone. Not really sure what will be left for Shaman after this, they will need some new archetypes with the next expansion, it seems.
Warlock is losing Malchezaar's Imp and Silverware Golem which are pretty key components of Discard decks. Darkshire Councilman is a popular loss as well. The loss of Abyssal Enforcer also will not go unnoticed. But given Warlock's current strengths seem to rely much more on more recent sets, they'll be more than fine, regardless.
I'm not even sure what will be left for Druid after this rotation, it seems they will be one of the classes in need of some particular attention with the next expansion. It seems like key components of every deck they're currently using are being lost. All the Jade stuff will be gone, including Jade Blossom, which, along with the loss of Mire Keeper means they'll be losing at lot of their ability to rapidly and reliably ramp up their mana. Mark of the Lotus will be a particularly big loss for aggro Druid. The loss of key legendaries in Kun the Forgotten King and Fandral Staghelm are fairly big losses. Worth mentioning are the losses of Feral Rage, Moonglade Portal, and Mark of Y'Shaarj as well.
Safe to say the impact of this rotation will be much more than the prior rotation (where we lost Blackrock, LOE and TGT). Losing 2 expansions and 1 adventure means a lot more cards are going fullstopa, and TGT was a pretty duff set of cards, compared with old Gods and especially Mean Streets.

No more jades!!! I will throw an extravagant party once we are free of that demon.
Shaman is losing...
Thing from Below
Evolve
Flamewreathed Faceless
Maelstrom Portal
Aya Blackpaw, Jade Spirit, Jade Lightning, Jade Claws
Devolve
Jinyu Waterspeaker
That's not counting the neutral cards that are played in Shaman like Doppelgangster & Nerubian Prophet

I'm gonna miss Arcane Giant and Firelands Portal
Helloo

No more C'Thun, or Jade of any kind. N'Zoth, the Corruptor is gone.
Priest is getting totally gutted as far as I can tell with significant losses like Raza the Chained, Priest of the Feast, Dragonfire Potion, Drakonid Operative, Kazakus, Potion of Madness, Pint-Size Potion, Kabal Talonpriest, Shadow Word: Horror, and even Netherspite Historian and Book Wyrm for Dragon synergy.
Warrior loses N'Zoth's First Mate, which, along with the loss of Patches the Pirate deals a heavy blow to Pirate Warrior. They also lose a couple of taunts that Quest Warrior tends to like, such as Alley Armorsmith and Bloodhoof Brave. Sleep with the Fishes and Ravaging Ghoul will also no longer be available.
Rogue is also losing it's fair share of Pirates, including Swashburglar, and Southsea Squidface, which, along with the loss of Naga Corsair, doesn't do any favors to the newer Kingsbane decks. Shadow Strike will be taken as well.
Handbuff and Murlocadin look like they'll be taking some heavy hits with losses like Grimestreet Smuggler, Grimestreet Enforcer, Grimestreet Outfitter, Grimscale Chum, Smuggler's Run, Vilefin Inquisitor. Also losing some fairly popular legendaries in Wickerflame Burnbristle and Ragnaros, Lightlord. Can't help but mention some loss of Divine Shield synergies with such cards as Steward of Darkshire, Rallying Blade, Selfless Hero, and even Grimestreet Protector.
Mage is another class that will seemingly be taking some hits in the form of Firelands Portal, Babbling Book, Volcanic Potion, Faceless Summoner, and Cabalist's Tome. They're losing a number of Secret synergies too, like Medivh's Valet, Potion of Polymorph, Kabal Crystal Runner, and Kabal Lackey.
Hunter is also going to be losing some important Secret synergies such as Cloaked Huntress and Cat Trick. Alleycat, Kindly Grandmother, Dispatch Kodo, and Rat Pack are particularly significant losses, as well.
I'm not even sure what will be left for Druid after this rotation, it seems they will be one of the classes in need of some particular attention with the next expansion. Worth mentioning are the losses of Feral Rage, Moonglade Portal, and Mark of Y'Shaarj as well.
Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Deathwing, Dragonlord, Corrupted Seer, Eater of Secrets, Bilefin Tidehunter, Infested Tauren, Finja, the Flying Star, Dirty Rat, Mistress of Mixtures, Arcane Giant, Medivh, the Guardian, The Curator, and Barnes are also some important losses, as well.
