It's laziness on developers part - the translation issues are definitely sortable with some work. When they designed the card it should have been pretty obvious that new expacs would affect it.
At the very least, given no dust refund, the limitations should have been made clear when the card was released.
Why do they even keep the class in the game? Devs are as lazy as they are stupid. From the BS explanations they try to feed the community, they obviously think we all are as stupid as them.

Im looking into the wild thing, but what really gets to me is that they introduced a new archetype, which really only shines with help from the hunter dk. Very sneeky, ive wasted too much of my time and money on this half ass game
Wow, I had no idea this was even an issue. Thanks for posting OP, I clearly need to check Reddit more. This is really disappointing. Despite maybe not being the most competitive DK, Rexxar is by far my favorite due to the design. It's really sad to find out that he's essentially being disregarded going forward. I pulled him in gold in my first pack and was actually excited at the prospect of his hero power expanding over time, especially since I play Wild. I really hope they reconsider on this. It's like a software developer releasing a program and refusing to update it.
After some analysis, it looks like the issue was Shimmering Courser, Stoneskin Basilisk, and Cave Hydra. From this, I can understand that the DK might have become OP. We can't blame them - they are clearly trying to keep hunter in the corner so it wouldn't make a hell of a lot of sense to buff the DK when they had to make great pains to ensure the class got bupkus in the expansion. I hope the expansion tanks and that the meta is dominated by the same 2 decks.

Wow, I was literally about to craft him and the weapon. I've been playing since beta and still have lvl 45 hunter because I hate the class that much except the DK and them trying to implement some ctrl stuff.
This inconsistency is just stupid. Can't they just make the same image for all zombeasts, call them "zombeast" like now, just put cost and stats on the card and make the effect "two beasts combined" and when you hover on the card it shows the 2 beasts? That would solve any of their text and translation problem. I don't think the power level it's the problem of the card, cause even if the beasts are op you have to pay 6 mana for a consacration and 5 armor, then you have to pay 2 mana every time to craft a zombeast, as long as the effect can't be "battlecry: win the game" zombeasts will always be ok.
They just failed to code it the first time and then they don't want to do it again 'cause they'll lose time and money to do so. They didn't even mentioned it when they released the card, I crafted it 'cause it thought it would become better with each expansion, but no, they decided that rexxar doesn't know beasts from early expansions. This made me really upset, they should fix it or give a refound.
2. The zombeast card has the stats and the text says “zombeast”, when you hover over the card, to the left of the card you will see the original card if your first selection, and to the right you will see the second option
3. When you play the card, you see the zombeast card
4. When either play hovers over the card, they’ll see the original cards to the left and right
This would really require NO extra translations on top of what they already do as they translate all of these cards to be put into the game initially...this explanation absolutely baffles me
And they say this isn’t “intuitive” then Idk if the devs understands how the human mind works....like when you learn something it isn’t always “intuitive”, and that’s exactly why you sit down and LEARN it
1. The text thing is an excuse for design space => REWORK the hero power (as i suggested, Discover a Beast, give it Lifesteal; or similar) and usual nerf policy activated.
2. The text thing is a real issue => FIND a goddam solution to the interface issue.

I have been playing HS since the open beta. For a long time now I've only been doing daily quests, if playing at all. I consider the hunter DK to be the most fun card released in the history of HS and when I made a deck with him, it was the first time I had some real fun in HS since a long time. I would prefer his hero power to reduce the cost of the zombeast by 1 to be considered competitive, but still, combining any two beasts is a really cool effect. I would never have guessed that they would not update his beast pool with new expansions, especially for such a petty reason...

Did my part to suggest a solution, as Kingsbane and Shadowcaster already afford one pretty useful workaround, which is to make the second beast count as an enchantment to the first. Kingsbane proves keeping track of buffs is not impossible and Shadowcaster shows that alterations to stats and cost are not too hard either. I REALLY hope they decide to rectify this whole situation in a satisfactory way. It stings the most no one was warned about it. There is no defense for silently hoping no one would notice.

Yes, that makes no sense. Hunter DK is a longshot from being OP, if they just keep the new beasts remotely balanced, they will have no problem.
Maybe they can be persuaded to change this? He uses Wild beasts in Wild, right?

But this is by all means a nerf to the card.
I don't even want a refund, i want the card to work properly.
At the very least, they should rework it, to a similar function (lategame steam).
Eg. Discover a Beast. Give it Taunt and Lifesteal. [Possibly call it Northrend Beastmastery].
Or something else.
