I have a friend who is like this, he doesn't invite people and insult them, but he flips his lid if he isn't winning all the time. He is quite toxic in whatever game he plays, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Battlefield. He just cannot accept that there are people better than him at games. It really drives me crazy when I play those games with him or watch him play Hearthstone.
I think it has something to do with getting NOTHING for losing. Now I don’t think we should get everything handed to us, but after a long and close game you get zero out of it. I believe that’s what creates the salt.
Maybe a participation trophy would help?
You know, that's an interesting idea...
In a big match, be it boxe, chess or whatever, the prize money is split between both participants. Sure, the winner gets more and the loser gets less, but at least he gets something. Wouldn't it be nice if it was like that in HS, too? Even the smallest token would be better than nothing. Don't know, maybe 10g if you win 3 games (like it is already), but also 1g if you lose 3?
Why do some of you take this game so seriously? Why do you have to get angry, when your opponent uses a certain deck, which you call "cancerous" or use this words to describe the play experience? I understand, that you aim to have fun (meta decks in casual), I understand, that some decks might feel way too powerful on the ladder, but for the love of God please don't get angry because of meaningless things. There are far worse case scenarios, where people lose a member of their family, their job, their health etc etc, AND YOU DECIDE TO CALL A STUPID LOSS IN A CARD GAME FOR CASUALS THE REAL NIGHTMARE!!!
I'm going to make an example - imagine how you play hs, the moment comes, which makes you angry. Everyone has its own provocation, think of yours... So imagine how right in that moment one of your parents comes in your room. They see you getting angry, then ask you the reason for it. And you explain them - how do you think would it sound? "Mama, I am angry because a random stranger beat me in a card game by using a popular deck, while I was trying to have fun. I want to end my life" {or a similar quote from the salt thread}. The reason for me using parents as an example is to illustrate the incarnation of your conscience, of your common sense. And do you think, that such cause will be treated as an understandable one?
I have read similar posts in the salt thread. While I don't disagree, that people want to vent their anger there, I am starting to worry how personal do some of you take hs and the game experience there. Every little thing triggers you, every moment, which doesn't suit you, is acceptable to get under your skin.
Leute, stop this bullshit. It's not that you are not understood with your problems. NO, your problem lies in you taking the little things as a serious problem. Just think - is it worth to get angry over this? Is it worth your time and health? Why do you keep going then? Take a break! You will do yourself a favour.
last few days, every opponent i face plays only their top decked card. if i have set up lethal, they topdeck a card to prevent it etc.
i would not mind if it happens here and there, but it happens almost every game. i dont know why but this is ridic.
if an opponent wins by skill(lol skill in hs) i dont care, but my opponents get so extremely lucky draws that its unreal.
i really suspect, that the draw is rigged for some guys in some way.
Luck doesn't exist and the draw isn't rigged. It's human nature to focus on only when someone top decks that exact card they needed and dwell on it while ignoring when it happens in your favor. Focusing on how unlucky you were will never help you get better, you should focus on if you could have played differently to win. If you don't think you could have improved at all and you played perfectly, that's probably part of the problem.

i would. but my opponent plays only top decked cards every game. i love hearthstone but when i have to witness this every single game its no fun anymore.
last two games:
druid: i got pyro from glyph and he has 9 health. his top deck with 20 cards left is earthen scale. nex top deck he gets is his second earthen scale.
2 exact cards he needed in this situation out of 20 remaining.
next game jade rogue: have him down to 11 or something and have lethal set up with a drawn frostbolt from ai . he has lichking on the board for two turns and got 2x death coil out of it.
took a break after that.
next game against priest.
i have lethal next turn. he played lychking before and got 1 card from him= death coil. another 1 out of 8.
so the last games when my opponent had lychking on board he got 3x death coil in situations where he would be dead next turn.
concidence?
and no, i am not making this up. just feels hard to believe the draw is not rigged

When I started this season the first five rogues I played against all had Keleseth on turn two. I remember thinking what are the odds that of the past five games, every single one had it on curve. But you can't focus on that, because it was only five games. Obviously I'd be playing plenty of rogues and that won't always be the case, was just a fluke. Didn't mean I was unlucky, or the draw was rigged.
Besides, you can look at it both ways. You got pyro from your glyph in the one game you described with him at 9 health. Isn't that lucky? You got exactly the card you needed to win the game. It wasn't even a card in your deck, you got it from a discover. That's way luckier than your opponent drawing a card actually in his deck. You gloss over that part because you're too focused on how unlucky you are that he had a good draw too.
Then you probably get tilted and start playing badly and make poor decisions and don't even realize you're doing it.
Not a native speaker. Actually, having learnt German so many years, I have almost always approached my classmates with "Leute". So it's just a casual greeting for me.
About your question - I don't think so. I have never heard anyone use it (outside of the German language). There are similar words with similar pronunciation in other languages. Personally I'm Bulgarian, the word we use is "хора" ['hɔrɑ]; "люде" is treated as an archaism l'lʲʊdɛ], but you can see the resemblance.
anywho I want to apologize to the mods, because this post of mine is not really contributing the main topic, so yeah aka this can be treated as spam
My opinion about taking every meaningless thing seriously - here
I get upset when I lose game after game to straight bad luck. Those times when my opponents always top deck that 1 card that will save them regardless of how I've played.

I used to work in Germany and in the staff canteen they once had food available which they translated into English on the sign as "Beef Citizens" which made me laugh ;)
And I too know Leute since Duolingo made you repeat "Morgen, morgen, nur nicht Heute, sagen alles feulen Leute" a lot.
Today i had a really awesome experience in ladder (rank 5 currently) after i conceded on turn 1 against Tempo Rogue (Keleseth, Shadowstep) he added me and shared his 80 gold quest with me.. and we had a nice conversation. I hope this will happen again lol
So having played a number of different games, and kind of wondering why losing at HS seems to bother me more than most of them, I think it comes down to the fact that to win you have to semi-literally kill the other player. PTCGO (as one example) has you fighting until you're out of cards in your prize pool, or out of cards on the bench. I never threaten "you" in any way. Other games have you winning by having the most of X or more of X in Y time. HS is one of the very few card games where it's pretty much "I and/or my minions attack YOU". From a Psych perspective I can almost see this ratcheting up the ol defense and adrenaline responses. Not sure there's any way to fix that other than have more game options where you team up to beat the AI or such.

You do not truly know someone, until you fight them.....

My .02 on this anyway...
Its amazing how much people get triggered when loosing in a game. But hey, emotions.
Then there are others who think they can tell players what deck to play in which mode. Thats just silly. Only Blizzard makes rules.
