Currently, I'm sitting at around 1500 coin which i want to save for the next expansion. Now I have to restraining myself from not buying more packs. There are just a few more legendary I want from frozen throne expansion like frost lich Jaina and Keleseth. Do you guys think I should buy more packs to try my luck, or should I save dusts to craft them? And how much coin you normally keep to buy packs for new expansion?
i keep around 9000 so when the new expansion release i will have almost all common and rare, a bunch of epics and some leggendaries. Then i craft everything else i need from the expansion and start saving for the next expansion.
It's been two months since KFT, I would highly recommend you to save more gold for the upcoming expansion. You'll get frustrate by using too much gold to open some legendary cards you won't play at all (Moorabi, Lana'thel, etc). Save around at least 6K gold in exchange for an average of 4-5 legendary cards in new expansion, maybe even more if you get lucky.
Opening packs once after the release of expansion is one of the most thrilling moments in hearthstone gameplay, so save as many gold as possible. I'm sure you don't wanna miss the fun :)
I shoot for 5000; I don't have to play all the time (just complete daily quests), its as much as those who buy 50 packs and I will get 2-3 legendaries. Not great but for FTP, not bad. As someone who is FTP but likes to try and be competitive, I start saving about 2 months ahead of a release... or coinciding with my last legendary (reset that petty timer and I don't care anymore... oh and yesterday I got Jaraxxus off of the tavern brawl and today Lilian Voss so I'm now set- had to brag a little).

Im considering to start saving gold for the new expansion although i still need to get some more kft packs ... But will the new expansion be adventure or packs ? cuz if its an adventure i could start saving a week earlier 700 gold for a wing and keep doing this for the rest of wings ... Still new to the game :)

that exactly what I do too, 5500 now
I do the exact same thing. I never use all my Gold anyway, for example i am on 9000 Gold and i get my 3 Legendary on 7500 i stop buying Booster since i wont get the next Legendary with the Gold i own, so i start saving earlier.

I started saving last week; I am averaging so far 80g per day, which should bring me to the 5k mark on mid-Dec. Enough for at least 2 legendaries (1 pity timer and 1 in the first 10 packs).\
I guess it is time to start saving up gold and wait before you craft, who knows, maybe those legendaries get way better or way worse.
I spent all my gold on packs the previous expansion and have been saving ever since. I'm at 5k rn but normally I get 10k by the time the new expansion drops. I just do my quests and play games whenever I feel like it.
I start saving once the new expansion comes out, having saved for that expansion before. So I started saving around August and am now at 4,660. It is not that hard for me to save up because once I build a deck I like, I don't feel a need to buy more packs.
I started to save gold in the beginning of october. I dont have a set amount of gold I need to get before the next expansion. But I guess I could get 2500-3000 gold from now on. Otherwise I'll just buy some packs with gold :)

I usually save 5-7k gold playing casually and spend $50 on the expansion pre orders. Sometimes I'll buy another $50 bundle but that might change moving forward with the duplicate legendarys rule.
Allmost Every Second Day 100 gold ( let us say this is save) (Monday Tuesday)=100 (Wednesday Thursday)=100 (Friday Saturday)=100 (Sunday*there are more quest´s with 40 gold out there* soo we make )=40 this is then 340 gold per week what is 1360 gold per Month.
And allmost every leak that there is really something coming new was allways for me 3000=30+- packs and then when i like the cardback also the 50 packs there and i save the dust from tavernbrawls then which most of the time are dust for 2 legendary´s since the new mechanic is out for no double legendarys i never needed anymore to buy packs so in future it will be much even better to save gold.
The most I've managed to amass was around 4500 or so. This time around I've already started saving even before the announcement of the announcement™ so I'm hoping to get at least 5k by the time the next expansion is released. I don't like to play arena because **** bullshit decks, so it really takes a while to farm gold for me.
Honestly assuming a given expansion has plenty of competitive cards that shake up the meta, similar to how Un'goro and KFC did, if you really want to have at least a vague chance of remaining competitive with maybe having more than one or two decks, you kinda need to save up gold from the date the previous expansion was released.
At the moment I didn't buy any Hearthstone packs since the previous expansion and I currently have 4.8k, I usually end up with about 8k by the time the next expansion is released and I don't play arena or anything, so it's just from Dailies and normal gold gain from completing said dailies.
I usually also still get the 50 pack bundle which usually gives me a comfortable amount of dust/legendaries/epics that allow me to JUST have enough flexibility to craft/make whatever becomes popular after a key patch drastically changes the ladder experience. Like when Jade Druid/Aggro was nerfed and allowed Tempo Rogue to spring up out of nowhere mid-expansion.
So, I'd suggest saving up as much as you can as early as you can.
I do the same thing, no arena (I dont like it) just quests and 10 gold for winning three games. I shoot for 8k, I start right after the release, and have 4.7k now. I am also a budget player and like you buy the pre release. With KFT I got most of what I wanted and I was able to craft some other legendaries that I wanted. I also agree with saving some dust, as I need a few cards for Tempo Rouge. I still have 1800 dust just in case, and if I dont need it, I can use it when the next expansion is released. I have read way to many sob stories of people who craft something because the dust is burning a hole in the bottom of the pouch only to be disappointed and wish they had just saved it.
As free-to-play my target is always to reach over 15K for coming expansions. Spend some of it opening packs and save enough so that the next target is achievable. Arena can also help boost this.
The idea is to have a constant cushion of gold and dust to have leeway so you can get what you want when you want it, instead of trying to get every card early and not using half of them. This way you can play every top tier deck under the sun and still have the resources to play Meat Wagon memes should you be so inclined.

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Like every expansion i go the usual way of:
6000 - 7000 gold + pre-order + first month Arena + second month packs whenever i have 100 gold.
That way, i got round about 95% of an expansion so far. (KFT 10 cards missing in total)

between 15 and 20k. I usually like to buy 100-150 packs with gold and have a few K left just in case.
