Edit, for those who are pointing at my Jade Druid deck: I, have, not, played, in, 10, months. I have absolutely no fucking clue what is bad, good and overpowered. And since I had to spend A LOT of dust (seriously, you don't even want to know) to craft a single viable standard deck, netdecking the most popular one seemed like a pretty smart move.

Soooo, a big while ago I stopped playing HS because I was done with losing on turn 3 to Pirates. Today I decided to start playing again. This was my first edit: on of my first opponents.
For years I've heard Ben & friends talk about how they hate combo decks that have no interaction or counter play.
And then I face this deck which has 2 Ice blocks and gets another 3 or so from random effects. Then proceeds to shred through 27 health and 37 (!!!) armor in a single turn.
it took him/her the entire game and a focused deck to set up that win condition, and by your description it sounds like the game went on a long time and it took him/her luck to even reach that ending. by your description I would assume you run no counters to this or similar decks. Exodia Mage also dies to a lot of what is present in the meta.
and you could just die on turn 4/5 to aggro too, guess that's alright but a 20ish turn setup combo is bad.

''He traded sands for skins, skins for gold, gold for life. In the end, he traded life for sand.''
It's one of the most unskillful decks, even more unskillful than Pirate Warrior. The only reason is not as popular is because it is boring AF.
Ice Barrier, Ice Barrier, Frost Nova, Doomsayer, Frost Nova, Doomsayer, Blizzard, Blizzard, Ice Block, Ice Block, while drawing cards. You are basically delaying the game until you can draw the pieces you need.
At least vs an aggro deck you can move on to the next game. In this one, these idiots think that because you rope and pretend to think that makes you a "good" player.. EleGiggle
Lap dogs, all of you!

Great art can never be created without great suffering.
Soooo, a big while ago I stopped playing HS because I was done playing decks with no anti aggro tech cards and getting punished for that.
I can also fully relate to Carlos_LeBoss' thoughts. Somehow 1 mana 10/10 is apparently fun and interactive but combos are not.
Tell me this: what is a difference between playing midrange for 20+ turn, over the course of that time dealing 60+ damage to you, and spending those 20+ turns setting up one turn during which that damage is dealt?
Quest Mage is literally anti cancer deck for Jade Druid and Highlander Priest and stop complaining it's cancer OP bullshit because it is really easy to counter it.
I think is called Karma you are being asshole by playing Jade Druid and life bitch slaps you for it.
@Killzun i disagree. I think that Exodia Mage is harder to pilot than many other decks. It's very draw dependant and the games are usually super close. You need 5/5 pieces in order to do it and the last card you need is usually the last one and if it's the last one you 9/10 times die to fatigue. Trying to survive 10-15 turns with 4x Freeze's and 2x Ice Blocks.
But i do agree that deck is boring af and i don't recommend playing it, it can easily make you rage.

The game didn't even go on for that long. My board got frozen on pretty much every turn from 4 - 8. Still managed to pop an Ice Block on turn 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14. Then got one-shotted.
I get that jade and priest decks can be total bull, but there really is no justifying have 5 turns of invulnerability with extra ice blocks. I see three in most games, but I have seen as many as six. So even if that game was 20 turns long the fact that 25% of those turns you just had to pass your turn is terrible design, and that doesn’t even count the blizzard/frostnova+ doomsayer making the passing turns closer to 30-35%. There are a handful of cards that can prevent that from happening. Secret eater, which is trash, hunter snipe, mage potion of polymorph, and the 5/5 that increases spell cost by 2. But you have to have those tech cards in your hand when he about to start that fiasco and the last solution many time he can just kill it and stall another turn so that it happens one turn later. I play all types of sub tier one control decks. There shouldn’t be decks in the game that can do 100+ dmg in “1turn” ( I know it’s technically 2). Where you have no interaction with the opponent, which is only made worse by the 25% of turns that game you had to probably just pass before that.

Even though I play Quest Mage this is totally true. The only time it took skill to play it was when Ungoro was launched. Really soon it became boring. But there is much lighter version of it with just Alexstrasza and Arcane Giants and the rest of the deck is control mage or maybe even tempo/secret mage so it actually takes skill to play it. There is also wild deck with Mimiron's Head so Quest Mage is not just infinite damage bullshit.
did you not understand the concept of quest mage? that being that ithas infinite damage and preys on slow decks that can't kill it in time?
No. I did not understand the concept of a deck that's a couple months old after I had not played HS for 10 months. Thanks for pointing that out after obviously not reading my whole post.
And besides that, wether I have a deck that can or can not kill Quest Mage in time is pretty irrelevant when said Quest Mage is immune to damage for 5 turns straight.
I love how all these posts are throwing shade at you playing Jade Druid, especially since they're the same people who played Secret Paladin, Mid Range Shaman and now Raza Priest. They claim a deck like this is OK, but when control decks are getting shit on by Jade Druid, it's an issue to them. It's sad because most these people can't think past what they read on the internet, but when they made Jade Druid, the meta was Control Priest/Warrior. Decks where you fatigue your opponent and get extra value from Elise Starseeker until they die, out healing or armoring up which caused for extremely long games. Jade was a direct counter to having decks like that become extremely popular again, so with all the whining and complaining, now we're getting back to a meta where a priest can grind you out all game then out value you in the last 2 turns and one shot you with hero power alone or warrior with DMH getting infinite value on fatigue damage.
Outside of the 40% of the worst players on the planet (according to Ben Brode himself), no, quest mage isn't really a thing and the deck isn't really that strong.
OP is a dirty liar. "First opponent" after what they claim to be several months, except its rank 19. Given your rank decays every month it is impossible for you to be rank 19 in game 1. Thus, this is any ordinairy salt thread posted by a liar and should be closed.

People play that deck to beat priest and jade druid. Glad to see it working.

your playing jade druid, can't really complain. lol
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

Bitch i'm Willy Wonka!
You're playing jade druid.
People queue quest mage to punish people playing broken decks like jade druid and razakus priest
Fuck cubelock

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

If you ask me, 64 otk damage and 64hp are on the same train of extreme and possibly broken stuff.
In other words, the match was exceptional, and you were both playing broken stuff - not just your opponent.
Yes, on rank 19 lol
