I was playing against this Warlock while dabbling in a control Priest deck, and he managed to wipe my buffed-up board with Corrupting Mist and Corruption, and then I had to fight for board control. I managed to get some big taunts out to protect me after he flooded his board, but he got me down low beforehand. I forget the exact minions in play on his side of the board but all I had was an Ancient of Blossoms and a damaged Defender of Argus. He only had 1 health left, but I needed to attack with my Ancient of Blossoms to clear his last taunt away, which would leave it at enough health that he could clear my board again and then probably kill me the turn after that.
I was trying to think if there was anything I could do to survive... and he conceded.
Maybe I missed something, but I don't think so. I believe I had already attacked with my Defender to clear another taunt away, so I don't think I had lethal. Maybe he had no way to control the board afterward and assumed I would get another taunt out? Thing is I think I only had one left in the 8-9 cards I had in my deck. xP
I will sometimes concede in the very rare case where my opponent has lethal, disconnects for a couple turns, and I come back in the game and get lethal of my own. I feel bad about winning those games, so if my opponent stays in and doesn't concede first, I'll concede right before I win in this scenario.

I've had it happen a few times before, and it always surprises me. A few times they've brought me all the way down to 1, with damage left on the board, only to concede to me. That's why I always make the opponent actually kill me, and I never concede just because the opponent has lethal damage. I've had many players miss lethal and not realize it, so that's another reason to not concede.

Given that he was at 1 health and you had put up a taunt to block his lethal, he probably just got demoralised and conceded thinking he would lose. Some people just give up too easily.
I generally see people conceded games when I know that if they draw a board clear they win, and they have two left in their deck, but I play crazy decks and if they see a scary board often they assume the rest of my deck can continue to do that. Usually it can't, usually it is a combo that no longer works because I played a part just to survive and then I managed to get a board he should be able to clear if he draws right in the next three turns.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
I concede if I have "play X cards of class" quest for 50g and "win X games with the same class" for 40g. Of course I'm playing casual at the time and probably have Lorewalker Cho in my deck too ;)

My taunt didn't just get put up; it had been up for two turns and he was about to kill it. =P But your point might still apply since I was about to kill his last taunt (without the ability to finish him off afterwards though).
My friend used to emote 'Well Played' in a close game as if to imply that they have an answer and the game is over, and sometimes the opponent would quit.

Ever had anything like this happen?
I sometimes concede to people when they are at level 16/11/4 and playing non-meta decks, even if i'm about to win...
