Bought about 10 arenas in beta so ~20 euro then I was f2p until League of Explorers where I forgot to save up gold for the adventure so I bought that. Then I bought the 50 packs for un'goro and frozen throne so all in all around 150 euro, which I think is about the same I would have spent buying expansions for an mmo or something like that so I'm cool with that. I think if they made the epic cards easier/cheaper to get then the system would be quite fair but overall its a little bit greedy but acceptable compared to older card games.
40 euro. Only bought Naxx and LoE because u couldnt really compete without these cards. Also did realy like the LoE adventure, i think its the best one.
Also like me if u're confused whether or not you should spend on hs.
My advice to you would be go for either the adventure packs/ pre purchases. They give best value for money and your bound to well probably get something worth keeping, however be warned with greater buying power comes depression, every once in a while you'll be like, "hey! im feeling good today, might as well buy some packs. " and then foolish you buys 40 packs worth 49.99 and only get 1 legendary and 4 epics and you feel like you have literally thrown the money away when it could have been put to much better use.
Now an important think to remember is you unless you are someone who knows no bounds and buy 200-300 on launch day, you must realize 50 wont get you much it'll only get maybe 2-4 legendaries and 9-12 epics and most of the rares, which is fine cuz dont go buying packs expecting you'll pop open every best legendary, you them for the rares and well maybe get lucky with the epics. I REPEAT NOT FOR THE LEGENDARIES, these freakin cards are hard to come buy unless you're really lucky and i mean why packs when your extremely lucky the pity timer is probably 10-15 for u anyways.
I have also bought the welcome bundle. Also 9 (7+2) packs grabbing the 10 guaranteed legendaries reset.
I hope Blizzard would introduce more of the Welcome bundle promotion or equivleant.
They can do this for the oldest expansion of the standard year once a new expansion comes out. Like the welcome bundle, this shall be a one time buy only.
I sold my D3 items for 500 USD and bought Hearthstone packs with the money when HS was in open beta
After that out of pocket I spent around 100 USD
But I haven’t spent since Standard hit because what I get for my dollar isn’t enough. There needs to be guaranteed leg, epics and golds with RM purchases or I’ll be free to play from here on out.
I advise anyone who spent more than 1000$ to recheck their lives.
Just curious .. but what should I be checking?
I haven't spent more than $1000 (yet), but if I continue to play, it's very probable that I will. I generally spend $200-250 per expansion, so another couple xpac's, and Ill be around a grand into it.
$10 or $1000 isn't too much, if it doesn't impact your life in a negative way. I know in some countries, it has been pointed out that a bundle of packs is as much as 1/4 of their monthly income. When that is the case, by all means, please do not spend that money. In other cases, spending $100 a month is pretty cheap compared to other forms of entertainment. The last movie I took my family out to see cost us well over $100. I just took my nephews to a new aquarium in town, and that 4 hour trip cost $214, just for tickets. Add in the souvenirs and pizza after ... that was a $350 day trip.
My point here is, you shouldn't put some arbitrary amount out there, and feel like if someone exceeds that amount, they have some issue in their life that needs to be checked.

I think it's silly that people spend that much money on games, period. More so when you do it for golden pixels in a card game(which seems to be the reason why most people do spend close to that amount on hearthstone).
But by all means, it's your money, do whatever you want with it.
630€ from june 2016 to april 2018 (not gonna buy packs until next expansion). Yes, it's sounds like a lot, but i got plenty of fun from this game, more than nights where you spend 50 euros in a club without even have a great time, or movies at the cinema that turned out being crap. 1~ euro a day its fine to me
Somewhere around $160-$170 since beta I'd say. I pre-purchased for 3 expansions, the welcome bundle, and maybe a wing or two of an adventure. Been free to play for a while though. I can get enough gold between expansions and get enough of the cards I want that it makes no sense for me to spend money on the game anymore. They should make the game more expensive so they can actually get some of my money :p.

I hate see people spend money they don't have on games. I saw some really, REALLY terrible things happen when I was playing Mobile Strike. I mean suicides, divorces, bankruptcy .... the list goes on. It was heartbreaking what that game did to a lot of people.
For me, games are just entertainment. I don't like to go to bars anymore, but when I did, $500 bar tabs were not uncommon. My house is paid off, I have more cars than any human should probably ever own, even though I can only drive one at a time. Both kids college is paid for .... "wasting" money on games isn't going to hurt me. Now, the stupid amount I spent on Mobile Strike is a different story. Doesn't matter if you are Bill Gates ... spending $100k on a game ... not that is crazy. (Actually, it was addiction, but that's a different story)

Since the game was released, possibly $500 at the max. I got the last 5 expansion pre-orders except for Gadgetzan. I did pick up at least 2, if not 3 total, 50-pack bundles from the shop using Amazon coins.
Honestly, considering how little I play after the first week of the expansion being live (this one included), the amount I do spend is still too much, even though I do like this game.
Long story short: I got way too many games to play and not enough time to play them.
Because I accidentally added 15 euro to my B.net account instead of buying the 12€ wow subscription fee for a month. So I had to spent the excess 2 euro somehow, so I bought an Arena game.
That's it and I am playing HS on and off since the release.
