I agree with the hunter nerf. The buzzard being so cheap in mana made it easy to do powerful combos are such low manas (buzzard +hounds, etc). Also i think that it helps that it will be more powerful in health to help withstand hero snipes via mage, rogue, druid, etc. sucks to put down a valueable card and have it heroe sniped
Wow so many idiots playing Hearthstone it seems. If you agree with the Hunter nerf, none of you have reached rank 2+, and probably never will. It's overly nerfed, and I'll gladly play Priest now as Northshire Cleric has been and is now far superior to anything else. People don't realize in order for Hounds to be useful, the opponent has to have over 3 minions on the board, thus meaning the opponent still has board presence. Northshire cleric is 1 mana, if you had 3 minions and traded efficiently, you could draw 3 cards from 1 mana (Circle of Healing included), or even 6 mana (same amount as buzzard/hounds) with a Holy Nova.
Doesn't matter, the game is pretty horrible in all honesty, as with all other Blizzard games. The Developers don't know crap.
your flame is very laugh. First of all, do u know why some of us dont get rank 2 and above? Beacuse hunters has taken over ladder. I've been in rank 2 but dropped down beacuse so much huntards i've met. There was like no ending for them so i didnt even wanted try go legend beacuse huntards, huntards and huntards. Only hunters and it annoys me. After buzzard and unleash the hound combo and if they had mana left they done cult master = draws and then kill next turn. But mostly i'm annoyed buzzard and unleash the hound combo beacuse draw power and had mana left for leeroy or other stupid combo for make laddering annoynig, boring and not so fun anymore.
anyway hunter nerf is fine and hunters are now more balanced. (I bet you rage beacuse you played hunter mainly)

To be honest I highly doubt you faced many buzzard+uth with the addition of Cult Master in rank 2+. That itself I have never seen in my whole HS career of 1000s of games and certainly not imaginable on rank 2.
Also if you are a player ranking up in 5+ rank, then you should also know that dropping ranks is nothing out of the ordinary. It happens quite often, in fact, that is just a matter of statistics. That it were mainly Hunter to make you drop, could actually be just coincidence (although Hunter is too strong, as basically everybody agrees, etc. ... it's not like playing Hunter was autowin. You could still improve you odds considerably) - I mean if there are like 50% Hunter, the odds of winning / losing vs Hunter increase massively and when you hit a bad streak that most likely would include a few Hunter players...
It's hard to take people who rage against hunter seriously, when their whole reasoning is so childish.
I lose a lot of games to Hunter --> Hunter is evil --> Let's destroy Hunter --> Happy
Any half-grown-up person would realize that you don't need to destroy a class so that you can win more games. The only reasoning you can think of why others are dissatisfied with the nerf is that they like playing Hunter, which is not a crime. Moreover for a lot of people that is actually plainly not true. You don't seem to understand that people just don't want to see the game imbalanced and parts of it destroyed. Also I think it's fair to address the issue even if the main class is Hunter. It's definitely important to point out the views from the Hunter player's perspective, which you totally choose to ignore. It's just ridiculuous ...
i never said it would be OP to be nerfed but nerf was necessary to bring other classes more back in meta. And i've dropped purpose down from those ranks beacuse its boring go against hunters all of time. There is no fun against them.
next week, you'll see a lot of people bitching zoo and handlock and saying warlock is broken
zoo and handlock arent OP, actually they are easier handle than hunter. Their combos arent that much fast, they dont get often good draw speed etc. I like play against zoolock and handlock beacuse against them is fun. Even tho many players say that zoolock is boring battle against and play with, i disagree. Zoolocks have many good variations and stuff but mostly they are fun to play against beacuse in mach can happen almost anything.

you'll see lots of complainers once a deck gets super popular!!! OMG it's OP! PlZ NERF!

true that. People complains too popular decks without reason. Only hunter complaints was somehow for real and good reasons but i just complained about hunters beacuse other decks cant come in meta. Now all deck have chanse to get in meta when hunter will be gone for awhile.
4. Far from crying, I have tinkered out decks and was very innovative with Hunter. I tried Pyrohunter post-Naxx (Acolyte of Pain, Hunter's Mark, Wild Pyromancer Combo + optional Arcane Shot among other card changes), but this combo needs 3-4 cards and also doesn't rely accomplish that much. There are easier ways to clear the board with other classes e.g. Priest with Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing, while easy card draw (the sort you seem to disgust) is generated by Northshire Cleric with Hero Power and possible combos etc.
In order to get the combo with Nortshire Cleric, you actually need to damage some of your minions, which most of the time isn't really a good option, while for the Buzzard + UTH u just need to play 2 cards to gain massive draw. No setback.
So of all the many points that I make you take out a single phrase and choose to view it in a very narrow perspective, in order to rebut it? Sorry, but that's not how it works. First of all this was not a comparison on my behalf. That is just one of the many combos that exist in this game for Priest and for all the other classes. It makes no sense to compare that in detail at all. Secondly your argumentation is flawed towards that argument that Northshire Cleric needs damaged minions on the board. Yes, of course. That is the nature of it and it has its in-grown advantages that you have a minion on the board and you heal it in order to trade better etc.
But even if we try to compare it, then it should be quite obvious that Northshire Cleric has potential to draw a lot of cards, which was the same for the Buzzard+UTH-Combo, when the opponent had a lot of minions on the board, which was not a given, so you had to wait for the right moment, which is similar to Northshire Cleric ...
I'm sure almost everybody has seen Northshire Cleric draw through the entire deck and possible even overdraw by huge margins. That is how powerful this card can be.
The main thing I don't get is why you just mention a minor point in the whole list instead of addressing more points. What do you even try to accomplish with that selective reading without context? :O
Northshire Cleric is a joke to play around compared to buzzard UTH tho, I can still have a board position against a northshire cleric without fear of getting blown out by a board wipe AND they get to draw half their deck.
I agree with the nerf, though I think Buzzard was hit in the wrong way. Should have just been changed to "Draw a card after a beast dies", would have been way more fair to everyone I think, and it would have made way more sense as well.
Anyway, as to the pros and cons Pros: -People can actually play Shaman again without walking on eggshells or relying completely on gimmick decks. -The meta will become a LOT more diverse without Hunters clogging up the ranks and forcing people to play a certain way, this is evidenced by the Prismata Cup where Buzzard and Leeroy were banned and people were free to try new things. -The complaining about the combo will die down. -The game will just be generally funner to non-Hunters, as the Hunter class is anti-fun to the core to every other class.
Cons: -The class will be considered dead now, despite having some of the strongest cards in the game even without the combo -Zoo will return to its throne of Most Annoying Deck That Everyone Plays

I have honestly never seen anyone play around Northshire Cleric :O
Also I don't know why you mention this again. Your points are irrelevant, as this should not even be compared and this thread is definitely not about Northshire Cleric. Nevertheless you can feel happy that everybody, including myself, still agrees with you 100%!
I see that your focus is off. What I mentioned repeatedly and what the real problem now is, is that the new Starving Buzzard does not even allow for the cheap beasts to be played on the some turn for a decent draw, because it's so prohibitively expensive. This means that the Hunter Class has now also lost a vital instrument of decent card draw, together with the rather imbalanced Combo. That is the whole point >.<
I think you have me mixed up with someone else on the board, Ive never mentioned northshire till you did and yes anyone who has seen a northshire cleric knows not to throw down a 2/x when there is one out, thats called playing around a northshire. And I was just commenting on what you said I never said that I didnt agree that buzzard costing 5 is a little much. My focus isnt off when I am replying on something YOU said.

Okay, I definitely made a mistake here. Sorry. I somehow didn't acknowledge that you play around Northshire Cleric, indeed. I don't know why I said that, as I certainly do also know about this *embarrassed*.
I guess my overall reasoning (misunderstanding) was that I just don't know why we would still talk about this, as I do not regard this as too important to the thread and thought I had already made that clear, but it seems I myself lost focus, actually. (I try again: Northshire Cleric may be stronger or worse than the Hunter Combo, but I don't think that needs to be discussed anymore. It's just a totally different thing that was only brought up, because it shows that other classes also have decent card draw, with sometimes potentially high upswings, still one should "Never go full Northshire!" :P Consequently, I think there would be nothing wrong it such decent card draw still existed for Hunter.)
Anyway really sorry, that I mixed something up here. Of course you can feel free to reply to my comments any time and I will almost definitely read it ... Thank you ;)
not a problem, I was pretty sure you had me mistaken with someone else but its cool. I agree that people need to focus on the fact that buzzard got over nerfed but I also think this thread is about over because I really dont think anymore points can be made here.
Just DE Leeroy Jenkins & took out Starving Buzzard. I been played a few matches with Hunter without Buzz+UTH combo. It went alright. I don't think Hunter is dead 100% But without card draws power. Hunters now less powerful where he used to be.
You guys think Hunter is playable for climbing ladder? or No good for now?
Funny thing is that pretty soon the ladder is gonna be filled up with a lot of Handlocks and decks that counter them, most likely. As Hunter is considered to be a class that counters Handlock well, it might be an option. But due to the nerf it is still unlikely to perform that well. In any case I would consider a deck with 2 x Freezing Trap, 2 x Hunter's Mark, 2 x Kill Command, 2 x Haunted Creeper and 2 x Cult Master (so just basic stuff adjusted for the nerf) and otherwise focus on either beast or trap synergy. I also would put in 2 x Flare, because of the ever increasing popularity of Hyped's Mage. So Hunter's probably not gonna perform that well, but it would be at least interesting to see how Hunter can perform in a meta, where a much weaker version of Hunter now post-nerf exists, when most of the people do actually not run counter decks to it. In a meta that is decent or constructed against Hunter (by chance, not choice) it is probably impossible to play Hunter in the future, so you may want go give it a shot now ;)
I do saw few topic predict future meta, and Handlock seem to have a advantage here, isn't it? (Haven't play Handlock). Also, I heard Blizzard said they'll look at Flare, & Hunter's Mark. Man, if Blizzard really nerf those 2 cards then I'll probably never play Hunter again or quit Blizzard because just nerf, nerf, and nerf.
I used to play Paladin a lot before, and this class work quite well against Handlock. Don't ya think so?
Eh... I probably try to spend effort on another class now. Hunter is a cool class to play, but well... I also busy outside life, no time to testing cards with Hunter xD But like you said. I also think Cult Master is a better replacement for our old friend, Starving Buzzard (now DEAD Buzzard?)
But yeah... just being lazy... and may be waiting for some genius come up with another OP Hunter deck, if possible... :D √
Btw, just asking... what class ya playing the most now?
Name other classes that have a class specific draw machine like that
Many classes have built-in draw synergy with common cards such as a mage's love of an acolyte of pain, rogues's use of the auctioneer, or zoolock's ability to constantly draw up extra cards through hero power and class card advantage related to the card draw such as discard mechanics that can be ignored. From a class card perspective, hunter is built to rush and control, but this Buzzard adulteration has forced hunter decks to try to imitate other, better equipped, classes using basic cards instead of being able to stand up just using beasts and class cards.
Oh man, some sweet huntard tears. But i think that the nerf is somewhat harsh. the stats are pretty bad for a 5 mana, but buzzard's stats never was the point of this nerf.
The buzzard always was a ridiculous card. The way it cycled the beasts from the deck to the board wasn't even funny at some point, plus a hunter deck wasn't a hunter deck without it's precious Buzzard/UTH combo. Leeroy is getting nerfed, so that miracle rogues can't burst +20 damage in 1 turn. I like these changes, and now the meta can shift more into control themed play than just retarded "IMMA HIT FACE NAO" rush smashing. I understand that aggro is a viable option, but long control games really show who is the better player, rather than just doing insane face damage and the opponent is left thinking "where the hell is my lightning storm/holy nova/hellfire/swipe...". The problem with UTH/Buzzard was that if you want to defend yourself from the insane facerush, you need minions on the table. FAST. And what does UTH/Buzzard do? It punishes you for doing so as soon as turn 5. Yay. Hunter is still strong, but delaying the buzzard combo till late game slows it down. Hunter isn't going to goddamn die, it's going to LATEGAME (you guys know, when you have 10 mana?). Buzzard was the most insane draw machine in the game. Learn how to play the class without the free hand refill.
I find your hate hilarious since it sounds like you never figured out to post 1 or 2 minions against hunters in case of the combo or to buff and kill of units. Learn the strategy first before acting surprised by it.
I saw some bad hunter player today drop from his rank 5 all the way to rank 13, I am really satisfied with it. Bad hunter players are feeding their ranks from 5~1 dropping all the way back to 15.
at the same time, I saw a good player meta pick hunter and get to top 30 NA with it(just now).
My only problem with the nerf is that the name "Starving Buzzard" no longer fits the card. A Starving Buzzard should be a weakling. It should now be called "Well-Fed Buzzard" or something. "Alpha Buzzard" "Fat and Happy Buzzard" I don't know, it just doesn't seem like a "Starving Buzzard" to me anymore.
I agree with the hunter nerf. The buzzard being so cheap in mana made it easy to do powerful combos are such low manas (buzzard +hounds, etc). In the order that Blizzard is nerfing, the next class to get nerfed will be Hunter. Basic SAT logic.
Many classes have built-in draw synergy with common cards such as a mage's love of an acolyte of pain, rogues's use of the auctioneer, or zoolock's ability to constantly draw up extra cards through hero power and class card advantage related to the card draw such as discard mechanics that can be ignored. The only disagreement a had was the fact that Blizzard didn't implement those changes the same day they announced them
EU
such a huge cry.... its funny because even after the nerf hunter is still 1 of the strongest classes in the game, and probably the best meta choice.
