I miss the Wild Arena, the huge cardlist Arena Autopick Rogue Arena, Ignore Warrior Arena I hate the new Arena, the Mage spam Arena The RNG Arena, The Vicious Fledgling Arena I miss the sweet Arena, draft only Belchers Arena I gotta say, at that time I'd like to play Arena See, I invented Anera, it wasn't any Arena And now I look and look around and there's so many Meteors I used to love Arena, I used to love Arena I even had a Kripp sub, I thought I was Arena
Don't you guys miss the wild arena? Now it is just about how many spikeridged steeds, vilespine slayers or glyphs you can get. The arena is full with paladins, mages and rogues. I think the card pool is too small now, today I got 3 spikeridged steeds and it was just disgusting, I hated it. I don't know about you, but I want wild arena back.
I suggested a while back that they should simply add a wild arena mode, so players could chose standard vs wild, as they do on ladder. They argued that a lack of synergy is an issue with so many cards, but they could allow you to choose an expansion/adventure you want an increased drop rate of, just like they do for heroes. 3 random options.
I dont think that would work very well. Even now, u sometimes w8 for the game almost a minute in off hours, imagine the arena being split in the two. The waiting period would most likely get even higher and more importantly, it would be a lot harder to match u vs player with same/similar W/L so u would more often than not ended up playin vs better decks resulting in more losses.
I never have to wait very long for an arena match, and having a new mode might even increase participation. They could always up the rewards as well if too few people are playing.
I do hope they consider putting both Standard and Wild Arena as an option.
They will never do this since that would kill one of the arena making longer quene times and less player ect. Just like in Overwatch, instead of removing these 2cp maps that everyone hates they are forcing everyone to play them, hell even if you host your own tournament you are legally required to play with those maps... Classic blizzard to keep crap instead of scraping crap no one likes, yea we gotcha, it took time to create maps, card or a mode but if it sucks it sucks, just end the suffering don't let that crap live on life support for the rest of time.
I feel like I'm being dumb here, but if that were the case, then why was there no perceptible change in the queue times when they introduced the Standard and Wild format?
Also, I don't understand your comparison with Overwatch. In Overwatch, you have to attend a 2CP map (whatever that means) whether you like it or not. In Hearthstone, you can get to choose whether you want to use Wild or Standard Arena. It's an option, not a requirement. So I don't see the problem there.
Additionally, I see a fair amount of players playing both Standard and Wild constructed so....yeah, I don't think the amount of players using those modes is a problem.

Because there are substantially more players playing Constructed than Arena.

True, but there are also a a lot of players playing Arena already no? Plus, there are many people who would prefer Wild Arena, and there are many who would enjoy Standard Arena (according to this very thread). Also, there are substantially more players playing Ranked than Casual, and yet there isn't a significant difference in queue times (at least for me).
The three traditionally best classes in arena got the best arena cards in un'goro...
Why?....who the hell knows. It's like Blizzard can only keep one thing in mind at a time regarding the 'direction' of the game...e.g. they re-balance flamestrike odds only to add meteor and plenty of random ways to create meteors just months later.

Also the funny thing is, now that flamestrike is more rare, it almost guarantees you see it at high winrates, because it such an advantage. That paired with 3 meteors, 3 firelances, and a odd polymorph or two, you can basically just give up on playing minions. I just got stomped by a mage with all those cards(he was at 11 health, then he got a random Hallazeal of of firelance, then healed himself completely with a meteor!!)
