Find a good streamer on twitch or youtube who plays the same/similar deck to you, preferably someone who explains what they are thinking and why they play any particular card, and think about which cards you would play. Once you see what they would do, try to decide why they play a particular card, hold a particular card, keep or throw away certain cards in the mulligan, etc instead of what you would have done.
Also just stick with one deck. Figure out how to play against each other class and really get good at that one class before trying to move on to something else. If you just try out each deck for a few games then switch over to something else, especially a net deck, you won't understand all the cards and how they work together or how they interact with other common meta decks.
I just have a habit wanting to try different things before i settle on one or at max 3 decks, but i get what you are saying, i do follow a few streamers that i enjoy watching.
Yeah, definitely try out stuff and do what you want to do in order to have fun in the game, but try to have just 1 or 2 decks, at least to start out, that you focus on at least for pushing the ladder. The nice thing about these new thresholds they added is you don't have to worry about losing all of your stars if you experiment. I'd play maybe 50-100 games with a relatively low cost, refined deck, get yourself up to rank 10 or even maybe 5 and experiment there. Or just hang around at 15 and have fun, there isn't really any need to rank up in the ladder.

thank you for your input its been very helpful , i just want for once to hit legend ONCE just to say i got the damn card back and hit that rank lol you know what i mean? The thresholds do help yes
I barely reach 10 before i get annoyed with the grindyness of the whole thing, you also start seeing the same decks over and over and get forced to tech or counterdeck, turning the whole thing into a prolonged rock paper scissors tournament.
If you get a window at some point, find that sweet deck nobody excpects and have fun playing it for hours on end, go for it. Having fun with a jade shammy at the moment, not going to last though so i'll probably stop at 8 this season and call it a month, go back to arena and casual where i see some variation and just play dumb decks like bubble c'thun or w/e :p
Anyway, OP, don't let anyone tell you that you need to "play better" as if this game is purely about skill and has nothing to do with luck and if you have the cards in your hand at the moment you need them.
Anyone who thinks it takes more than a dead monkey to play this game probably runs away from libraries and anything above basic math.
Does deck building count? Yep. Do decisions count? Sure. But that doesn't matter when Pirate Warrior has you dead by turn 5, does it? That nice you deck you built doesn't mean jack shit if the board is frozen every turn, does it?
Get a deck tracking program and use that to track your games and monitor what is left in your deck. The tracking gives you a better idea of what decks are winning for you and which are not, while the monitor gives you some small insights into your draw percentages that can help you with difficult decisions.
Know what others are playing by scanning the top decks here and on the other popular sites. Knowing exactly what cards your opponent is likely running really helps you make good plays. Knowing how those decks play out is even better. Then you can play around your opponent's big moves better. It also helps you tune your decks.
Knowing your own deck is obviously a good thing as well. So is playing when you are feeling sharp and focused.

[…] im just trying to figure out tips to get out of 15-10 ranks. […] ive played it since end of beta and launch
You've played it since end of beta but how many victories do you have? and in arena?
Some advices — Play arena: it's a good school of life, even if the playstyle isn't exactly the same (arena is mostly value oriented, constructed is mostly tempo oriented). —Practice without being disturbed by your environment (Twitch, YouTube, Phone, Facebook, etc.)
— Watch recognized players and try to figure out the reasons why he makes a play over an other, instead of just thinking when your play would have been the same: “i would have made this play so i'm just as good as he is”, which is a tempting tendency but does not benefit you.
— You make homebrewed decks: try to figure out why you play some cards and the usual lists don't. You'll not always be wrong, but since you've difficulties to reach rank10, it is not presumptuous to assume that you misunderstand some things about making a harmonious deck.
Deckbuilding is a dispensable skill, of course, but it is part of the fun to climb with your own decks… Personally I favour these moments I spent playing my own creations over the ones i spent playing netdecked decks, it is by far more rewarding! But to be rewarding it also has to be a little bit efficient… A deck that cannot reach rank5, if it is not incredibly fun, has to get seriously redesigned.
Anyway, OP, don't let anyone tell you that you need to "play better" as if this game is purely about skill and has nothing to do with luck and if you have the cards in your hand at the moment you need them.
This game has to do with luck, but what matters is the long run, that means your winrate.
watch some streamers (when i can, i watch dog's stream and i learned a LOT from him), i started playing 2 months ago, i reached rank 11 last month and this month i'm on rank 3, i have a lot of experience playing yu-gi-oh if that mean something lol, but if you read about the metagame, decks, playstyles you're going to improve a lot
If you cannot get past rank 15, I wil assume that you are relatively new to the game. Then I suggest you not to go after ranks but gold. Build a fast deck. It doesn't need to be stable. Go to casual play. If you like your mulligan, play. If not, concede. Do the quests and earn 100 gold from 30 wins. That will get you 150 gold/day. When you do this, you will also learn your deck. You will learn what to change to defeat quicker. AND you will have gold to buy packs.
I only reached rank 5, and that was 1 time. I may not be pro but in the ranked play, people always had those legends that i don't have. So i decided to leave ranked play for 3-4 months. With gold i bought packs, i got legends and dust. Then I saved 6000 gold in about 45 days to buy 60 Ungoro packs when it launches. I still have a lot of dust to craft.
ONLY AFTER THAT, i started playing a deck to understand it. If you don't have good cards, even if you play all day and think what your opponent will play, you won't go past rank 5. You will not be able to replace a card in your deck with an epic or legendary to do better, because you don't have those cards. And you probably won't want to craft them because you have little dust.
this is the most useless answer ive ever read in this thread Kappa ! like for real is building a fast deck gonna win 30 game per day ? the only 2 fast decks that are avaible are aggro druid and pirate warrior which both need time to play and to make decision if u are bad at the game u will just keep losing with them ! do u know how much time does it take to win 30 games LOL even playing a fast deck in 1 hour u will play between 6 to 8 games which u can win or lose so please stop giving peaple useless advices :D
Then you need to learn how to drop your MMR to play with easy opponents and concede if you don't like mulligan. i win (not play, win) 30 games in 150-180 mins and have been doing this for 3-4 months, so not a coincidence. noob :p
thank you for your input its been very helpful , i just want for once to hit legend ONCE just to say i got the damn card back and hit that rank lol you know what i mean? The thresholds do help yes
I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. If you've never gotten past rank 10, and you've actually tried to do so, chances are you're just not capable of getting legend. In any case, you're miles and miles away at the moment, skill-wise. If I were you, I'd set the bar a lot lower than legend at least for the time being. Rank 5 should be your next goal i m o, and you should focus on that.
I would also advice you to pick a deck and stick with it. Spend time understanding what the deck wants to do and how that plan changes depending on what deck you're facing. Sticking to one deck, and analyzing your plays with it, is almost guaranteed to improve your gameplay.
I had the same issues for the last few seasons. But in my case I also did not play really constantly but mostly logged in to do my quest and do some games with a more fun oriented Tempo-Mage deck.
However, what I realized this season for myself is that knowing your own deck is only like 25% of the game. It is really important to figure out what deck the other person is playing and which kind of plays you can expect on which turn (if they draw perfectly). Since I am only focussing on Questwarrior so far this season I am doing surprisingly well, since I do face Rogues and Shamans most of the time and I know pretty much what to expect in every turn. So basically, even if you know your decks and know what you want to do, it is even more important to understand how all the other decks work.
For me it was a big help to watch streamers playing with decks I am struggling against. So you see what are the situations and plays that fuck up their strategy and what is their optimal way to play. This help me a lot to avoid running in the "traps" of their decks or figuring out when to play Dirty Rat best for example.
I figured our last night i really like quest warrior but i need spare time to play it lol hard when you only have 30 mins to.play a slow deck ha so im figuring out a "faster" decl to play at work lol
Some good advice but not sure it its already been mentioned your not net decking enough. Unless your a pro, incredibly intelligent person or playing solid 6 hours plus a day you wont be able to make a better deck than you can find on hearthpwn. These are crafted by players who put in 100 hours a week, they know the meta inside out and the deck generally comes with some proof of its sucess plus a rake load of input in the comment section.
Try loads, find one you enjoy playing then play it inside out.
I got to 7 this season with my own deck but consider this rare and mainly due to the new year and the diverse meta, normally I will find a deck play the shit out of it and then adjust it a touch here and there... but this season after stalling at 7 ripped the Paladin murloc deck and im currently on 2.
My 2c but the reason your struggling to pass 15 is because your using your own deck, net decking will also improve your own deck making skillz..

I appreciate your honesty. After playing a bit and taking in the advice of people on this post it helped alot in my play and i think i.picked two decks i want to try and climb with. Im going to set myself small goals from now on and keep improving into next season:)
This is really interesting. Because I'm at rank 14 right now and up till these last two weeks, I had been stuck around 20 since February and I was convinced I pretty much sucked. This current rank isn't the result of a crazy streak, I win about 1/2-2/3 of my games now, both in casual and ranked, and I build my own decks. Aaaaand I have no idea what's in any of the top tier decks except from the experience of playing against them.
Ive got to echo what others say--it's not all quest rogues and pirate warriors down here at rank 15ish. I see an interesting variety of decks, way more combo/control than aggro at the moment. If ranks 10-5 are a grind, I think I'd rather be here.
Instead of worrying about escaping Rank 15, ask yourself if it's really worth it. Rank 10 reward is barely any better than R15, if you intend to get past Ranks 15-11 territory you're setting the bar at 5.
Last month I had peaked out at Rank 13 and according to HS I made it to "top 20%" (see here)... and for the record, I reached that rank just by doing dailies. I've come to the conclusion Rank is a poor way when it comes to gauging "skill" in HS.
Do or do not. There is no try.
My advice: don't rush it.
You'll burn yourself out setting too high goals.
If you feel fine with 15, stick to it.
