Hey y'all! I recently did the math and it turns out that I am going to be getting around 14k dust upon the release on ungoro (disenchanting all cards rotating, getting the dust from the hall of fame cards, and disenchanting them as well) and I was just curious if any of y'all know how much dust you will be getting as well?
Why would you disenchant everything rotating? You will never play wild?
You're going to regret it
I have not once played wild in the past year and its too big of an investment to get into at this point, plus jade and pirate warrior are the best decks in wild atm from what ive seen so I would just play one of those.
This is the perfect time to get into Wild. You have all the cards from the prior expansions and most of the staples are commons (if they aren't legendary anyway), and the cards that get added in are going to help shape the meta game as well.
Heck, Pirates are going to hit a speed bump when the expac hits just because of the ridiculous taunts and everything, and Jade remains to be seen how it's going to go.
But it's silly that you're looking forward to a change in the meta game due to a new expansion and then ignoring a format because of what it's like now when it's getting the same expansion :P
I'll have about 11k. I used what I had to craft golden Hall of Fame cards and will be getting the max refund as a result. I'll have about 7700 gold and will purchase 170 packs with cash. Typically this provides me with all the commons and rares, about 3/4ths of the epics, and about eight of the legendaries, plus another 6-10k dust. The dust is generally enough to craft any critical epics and legendaries I missed, allowing me to roll my 11k stock, but this time I think the quest system is going to force me to dig into those stores.
I haven't tried wild either, but i still dont think its a good idea to dust every card rotating. If you eventually decide to switch over imagine how much dust you will need to craft the decks that you want to play.
I regret dusting all of my GvG cards despite not playing wild, only because of brawls and adventures. I'm probably going to regret it more after this rotation because a majority of my collection is moving to wild which probably means i move over as well.

Pirate Warrior and Jades are certainly strong in Wild, but there are many decks that can compete with them there that don't even exist in Standard. It's really not that big of an investment at all because most Wild staples from Naxx and GvG are commons or rares. You could have most staples from those sets for less than 2k dust.
It's always nice to be able to play Wild when I get tired of Standard. I disenchanted a few cards when Old Gods came out and a few months later I had to recraft them to play Wild. I personally wouldn't advise doing it, but you do you.

a lot of tavern brawls use wild cards. pirate warrior is very strong, ill agree with that, but i wouldnt call jade decks oppressive. They are probably more so in standard because there are only like 7 decks played there and jade druid beats 4 of them and jade shaman has no bad/unwinable matchups. it really isnt that big of an investment, there are maybe 15 core cards and only 1-2 of them are legendary with only a few being epics.
Obviously they're your cards, and it's your HS experience, so you can do whatever you want, but as someone who got into the game literally a month after GvG and Naxx rotated... I realllly do recommend keeping what you have. I remember when I finally did decide to go into Wild, having to scrape together the dust for all the cards I had no other way of acquiring was a nightmare. I don't even play much wild lately, but having the option to go in and test out some stupidly over the top combo decks, or OP deathrattle decks can be really fun, and I feel like you'd be missing out on that opportunity in the future by dusting everything now.
That's just my 2c though. On topic; I think I worked out I'll have around 5 or 6k dust from the pseudo-refund, and I've got 53 packs waiting to be opened so far. Won't be a huge start, but it'll be enough for day one at least.
The decision to dust all rotating cards seemed to be popular around the time of the first rotation. However, I think future rotations will increase the draw to Wild.
First of all, Standard has proven it is very capable of becoming stale. It took Blizzard 2 months to do something about the 30% play rate of Shaman that emerged shortly after MSoG. While they have recently said they will act faster in the future, I'll believe it when I see it.
Second, as the Wild card pool grows, there will be more interesting possibilities in that format. I expect a lot of the big streamers to play more Wild during the Year of the Mammoth, which will influence how the meta develops there. It should be pretty fun.
Third, as other posters have mentioned, Wild cards are really useful in Tavern Brawls. You may not put a lot of value in this in itself, but as time goes on, this might factor more into your decisions.
At the end of the day, it's your decision, but I would recommend only dusting rotating cards as you need to, in order to build new meta Standard decks. Dusting is such a huge cost, and it is not worth it to just have a big pile of dust. The cards will always have higher potential value than dust alone.
I looked and I had only thaurisan as a legenadry for BRM still, all of the LOE legendarys but i dusted some of the bad cards. and Almost 0 TGT cards. IMO I will never focus on wild, I will always be a standard player, even tried once to play a wild deck and I just couldn't get interested in it. Do what you want, its a fucking game, if you've got regrets in a video game then theres something wrong with your brain. I've dusted and recrafted the same legendaries multiple times. At this point it really doesn't matter as long as I have all the cards in the next standard rotation. Just play the game the way you want to.
Oh man don't tempt me. I think I will struggle with this every year. I don't play Wild, but I work so hard to complete my collection. I would save so much time if I dusted my rotating cards every year though. T_T
I dust the "bad" cards of each adventure and expac otherwise i prefer to keep my collection fairly complete. This is all up to you obviously but i suggest not dusting everything because you might change your mind later on and less regrets in the future and stuff

Naxxramas was my favorite of all the adventures so far. Hope they eventually come back to making new ones (or at least re-release the old ones for new players; Kel'Thuzad's narration is the best!).

You have no clue of wtf are you talking about.
Yeah, of course I don't. I have never played wild, how could I know what the best decks are there? Ive just seen a bunch of streamers and friends say that.
Do you actually know what you want to craft? There is no point to dusting stuff just to have dust (except for this whole Hall of Fame fiasco which I love). And I wouldn't count Wild as being dead, if anything Standard is the format looking to become a complete shitshow as long as Blizzard keeps buffing up Aggro that can kill you on turn 6.

Same here. I have quite a few cards that are rotating but Im still never going to use them again. Wild just never appealed to me, its all going to be the same decks over and over with a bunch of otks and other stuff like that.

Golden legendary cards opened: Ragnaros the Firelord, Auctionmaster Beardo, Kalimos, Primal Lord

Can't delete my post ... so here's a really corny joke.
What is a pirate's favorite letter?
You would think it is R, but it is actually the C.
Murloc Shaman is going to take over Wild when Un'goro hits, just saying.
