Has anyone noticed how hearthstone devs tend to abandon some of the older mechanics? Minions used to have the poison effect like maexxna or the elusive effect like faerie dragon. The only 2 new minions with these mechanics from recent sets are pit snake from LOE and soggoth from WOTG respectively. Instead of creating more aggro pirates or vanilla cards, isn't it better to make use of these mechanics more?
I personally hope that mechanics that saw very little play, like Joust or Inspire will eventually get more cards. Joust in particular only had like 6 cards. There were more inspire cards, but most of them were too slow to see play. I'm glad that Discover has continued to get more cards though.
Discover is really good, joust wasn't great but it was an interesting mechanic, was helpful in control decks to determine what your opponent was playing

I agree, the Joust mechanic was interesting. Completely unreliable, but interesting nonetheless!
Joust was bad because the card is trash if you lose the joust, and the card was broken/good if you won the joust. So people don't want to risk it.
I can agree with that in most cases. However, the Hunter elephant was an exception. 3/2 for 2 isn't bad, plus the draw effect if you actually win the joust? Wow. However, as most Hunters running that are built don't win the Joust, it was still a good way to see what was coming or what you might have to work around.
Eh, I'd rather have new mechanics to keep things fresh, but it would be nice to see a good Deathtouch and Elusive card. I actually want some Lifelink in this game. Mistress of Pain was just terribly statted, but on a midrange minion it would be a really nice way to sustain yourself. However, the risk is that anti-synergy with Auchenai.

Check out my fun and innovative decks here:
Beat your opponent to a pulp with Revenant Warrior or outlast them with Demon Reno Warlock.
Discover is a great mechanic. Definitely hope to see more of that!!
i think joust could be buffed to win ties. i like the mechanic/payoff to higher curve decks.
