ay ay aggro :/ unless the new sets bring major changes this is the one that will break the back of all control, rip control, intermittently played 2013-2017 :D
good thing I mostly play wild, much more fun and insane if u don't care about ranking up :D
but still if Reno is gone, Brode pls, pretty pls #makehandlockgreatagain
Unless they give highlander decks new tools they will be alive only on priest with some luck, I guess aggro players will be happy af with these news tho.
If we see some decent control cards printed for kabal classes, Kazakus might not be as dead as everyone's saying. I've been experimenting with some control warlock and you can just put Kazakus in the deck and wait until it's activated, it's great value against other control decks/slower midrange. Now obviously without great heals it doesn't work nearly as good as it could but maybe we'll see some good stuff in the new expansion.

This. I remember when Kripp made a Reno Mage deck that used Mad Scientist to purge the second Duplicate from the deck because he wanted two of them. I'm currently playing a Reno Anyfin Paladin that uses Finja, the Flying Star and The Curator to purge duplicate Murlocs from my deck, with the second Anyfin Can Happen being the only thing I have to draw. I wish people would be more creative with their decks instead of just copying something they know works. Maybe that's why Renolock is the only viable Reno deck.
Healing will have to get a hell of a lot more efficient then. Druid's Healing Touch/Feral Rage is barely enough against most aggro, even if I draw Living Roots AND a 2-drop. Even Paladin's Forbidden Healing is sometimes too slow, and it commits your entire turn to the healing. I've started putting Reno Jackson in exactly every single deck I have because the game shouldn't just be a race to the face.
Priest has Greater Healing Potion. You have Alexstrasza and Jaraxxus.
There are a lot of tools. Nobody likes playing against someone who uses Reno, ALexstrasza, Jaraxxus, and small healing cards for something like 80+ health.
In that respect, Reno is broken and should be rotated into Wild.
Blizzard needs to get the meta to the middle ground where you do not need to play 80+ health Reno decks on one end and 5 turn aggro pirate decks on the other.
Anyone who had any thought that this had a chance of happening, I don't even know why this would be a subject. They could never do it because then they would have to put so many other cards in the classic set that people would want. Be a Wild player if you want to keep using Reno.

You do not truly know someone, until you fight them.....

Well maybe if they stopped making broken as hell 1-drops we wouldn't need 80+ health.

Oh you mean the potion that does nothing to help for board control, and two minions that don't heal for nearly enough and come far too late into the aggro matchup? Man what great tools we have. Might as well listed Cultist Apothecary too. You know, that incredibly bad card that heals you by how many minions your opponent has, meaning that greater the heal = more fucked up you are.
I'm going to take him up on that last sentence. The "interesting cards" of this expansion are few and often unplayed. WotoG was such a better expansion in comparison, in my opinion.
Omg everyone wants to get healed. What about some viable early game taunt minions and a reduction of tempo plays here and there? Like we still have the prince malchezaar mechanic whitch will definitely get used to play some day. We might even think of other mechanics such as Barnes/Goya mechanic and whatever more. Check te currently released cards and chose whatever mechanic you wish
Personally, I am quiet alright that reno won't stay in classic set but rotate out. He got a lot of plays and I am looking forward for different highlander decks including stuff like kazakus and even more. Maybe like: "If your deck has no duplicates, summon 2 0/4 minions with taunt" 2 mana spell (yes, this one is a spell) or like 2 mana minion with battlecry to make goons more of a thing. There are a lot of possibilities
I mean there is one more positive thing here. Ben Brode just talked to the community the second time in a row. I mean there is no lack in communication to the community since two days :O this is exactly what I expect more from team 5. Like answering frequently asked questions and giving a comment from time to time. I am happy now^^
To all the ones that rejoice, i would like to know why a card should rotate just because it was released in 2015/2016/etc... while cards from classic are in forever. Shouldn't they also leave to make the game "fresh"? Or it works only for naxx onward?
Well at least i know i won't play standard next release. Highlander decks are dead without a strong heal and aggro will be the number 1 as usual.
The idea of classic cards staying forever is actually used in other card games. Certain cards are considered staple for the game. They create the platform for new players to feel out the game and learn the basics of deck creation and game play mechanics. To rotate out "expansion" cards be it from new set releases or adventures is also common practice among other card games. However taking cards from the expansion sets and making them classic, that I would see being a poor choice and inappropriate. Which is why I may not be rejoicing or upset about Reno rotating out, I just agree with the choice.
I also agree with many comments on the thread here, aggro will now rise quite quickly to dominate since the ease of play and lack of variables to loose from make it the simple choice in standard. Draw, play, smack face, and hope you don't fall out of tempo.
Creative game play and deck ideas need to be rewarded, not copy/paste the new flavor of the month.
Good. Reno is unhealthy in my opinion. There is nothing fun about winning or losing based on whether someone drew Reno or not. Hopefully this allows for more fair and consistent neutral healing options.
Completely agree.
On the other hand, I'm worried Wild becomes a Fatigue Fest.
I think it was good to have reno around for a while to introduce a new deck archtype and to have an option to punish aggressive play. I think he might be leaving a little to early, due to the fact that the new "highlander" minions Inkmaster SoliaRaza the Chained and Kazakus probably wont be able to keep that archtype alive.
well we all knew it was gonna happen

Oh great ill be so excited when mage gets some crappy reno replacement that won't matter because I wont be able to stabilize

Cute, ineffective, but cute.
YES yes yes, thank you god!!!
-let´s negotiate: you concede and I let you live...
perhaps they are printing something similar to reno..who knows.imo still too early to start the party for all the aggro noobs.
Next expansion will have a deathrattle legendary that heals for 30 if you're only playing 1-of
Blizzard: We're gonna be rich

I'm really sad to see the LoE legendaries go, Elise Starseeker, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Reno Jackson and Brann Bronzebeard all created their own deck types that couldn't exist before. Hopefully they can create similarly interesting cards in future expos.
