I know the argument is that the meta hasn't evolved yet to counter how strong aggro is right now, but I think Team 5 will take a hard look at Small-Time and see if they need to adjust stats a bit here. I'm guessing either lower the attack buff to +1 or lower it's health to 1. I'd prefer the 1st option, but either way would help balance it.
As it stands right now every class has to use a solid single target removal spell or weapon to counter Small-Time or you'll quickly find yourself getting hit for 6 by turn 3 not including Patches, or the weapon or other minions. Even if it was just changed to 1 health at least Mage/Druid and Rogue could just coin hero power which is already a sub-optimal play but saves you some damage.
Seeing as past nerfs included lowering the attack of Leper Gnome and Abusive Sergeant to 1 I really don't think it's a stretch to see them nerf Small-Time Buccaneer.
So save up your dupes, they could be worth 100 dust each!
I don't think they nerf small ime buccaneer. They never had a Problem with Cogmaster and the Buccaneer is less reliable. There are less weapons in aggro decks than mechs in mech decks.

I think it's wishful thinking.
Its alot easier to remove a minion than a weapon though

Well said, as right now I see decks running 2 Oozes to deal with the pirates aggro decks. When have you ever seen a HS meta that was forced to tech so heavily for weapon removal?
By no means am I saying Small-Time will for sure be nerfed, just saying I'm not gonna dust my dupes just in case.
I doubt it will be nerfed. Just because Mistress of Mixtures, Enchanted Raven exists. 1 mana 2/2 seem to be the way Hearthstone is going. Any card with 1ATK better have some special effect that will go above the 2/2 stat line or else it will just be completely butchered into non-existence, like the leper gnome.

it's the same stats/effect/cost as cogmaster so i don't see it ever being nerfed. its a good card, especially in classes with lots of easily available weapons, thinking of maybe even running it in my control rogue with patches and swashburgler for deck thinning, early board control and RNG card advantage, even works as a 1 mana combo activator in the mid/late game
I'm also holding on a golden Jade Idol , I really hope they don't nerf Small-Time Buccaneer the card should have been a Rogue class card, move it to rogue and don't nerf it Blizzard , but I have 9+ of these so I won't be sad if they do :D
It's just a vanilla 1/2 Pirate for every other class anyways, I have no idea why they bother running it besides having more triggers for Patches.
Remember the card that did the SAME thing if mechs were on the board: Cogmaster. Did he get nerfed just because he saw a lot of play? I didn't think so. I don't see small-time buccaneer being nerfed, as equipping a weapon turn 2 versus playing a mech minion is actually a slight tempo loss (although some 2 mana weapons can take out 2 and 3 mana minions easily... unlike rogue's hero power).
If Small-Time Buccaneer is broken, then cards like Southsea Deckhand (1 mana 2/1 charge) and Bloodmage Thalnos (spell damage + card draw + 1/1) are broken and they have been what they are for a long time while no one ever complained. Besides, weapon removal is a thing in this game, so it's easily countered and even then it has 2 health.

What you are not taking into account is that to remove a mech is easier than removing a weapon and weapons get to last for 2+ turns. Removing a mech requires any form of damage, be a minion, damage or a spell vs removing a weapon which requires an ooze (2 of in your deck) or harrison (too late in this case).
That being said, it is true cogmaste was never a huge problem in the game and it is true that there are less weapons than mechs (except for rogue). So yes, I don't think it will receive a nerf.
Sure, GvG meta was maybe more powerful, but so Mechs are compared to Pirates: most Pirates currently in use are actually classics, and just 3 of them out of 30 cards decks are new additions, however good ones... yet we consider Pirates overwhelmingly OP...
It wont get nerfed because pirate warrior will slowly die down over the next few weeks when people realize its not actually that strong. The card is brilliant for miracle rogue so i hope i am right on this one.
You sure about that? People are making hybrid decks with the Pirate cards now. Hell there's now a Pirate Warlock. PIRATE WARLOCK!

I think another thing to note is that Naxx cards helped with anti-aggro at that time like Deathlord and Sludge Belcher.
Also as many have said, removing a mechwarper on turn 2 to remove the cogmaster buff is easier than removing a weapon. Even without that, mech mage wasn't balanced either. Just because there wasn't a nerf for cogmaster doesn't mean that there shouldn't be one for Small-Time.
Also the archetypes are completely different, if you ignore a Cogmaster you get hit for 3 on turn 2. If you ignore/can't deal with a Small-Time Buccaneer then you potentially are hit for 8 damage by turn 2 (Small-Time, 2 Patches hits and Firey War Axe).

The why not nerf Fiery War Axe, it contribites just as much damage in your example, no?

Because Firey War Axe is a weapon and not a 1 drop minion that contributes to an aggro meta that Hearthstone has in the past nerfed as they did with Leper Gnome and Abusive.
My original post is about saving dupes for a potential nerf because of what I've seen in past nerfs. When have we seen any of the weapons nerfed? Again I will say I have no idea whether they will nerf Small-Time, but looking at what we've seen in the past and how HS normally tries to limit the aggro in the meta I would say the possibility is there.
But feel free to dust all your Small-Time dupes, I personally don't need the dust that much right now, I might as well save them up.

Hold on to your Small-Time Buccaneer duplicates just in case it gets nerfed.

It becomes a bad 2 mana minion if you have a weapon, so in comparison to other 1-drops i think its fair
They usually don't do nerfs till a new expansion is coming anyways. So don't expect anything any time soon.

if they Nerf this card, I'm done with this game. I don't even use it. It's the principle.
