With the release of the four new nax cards what decks will you be putting them in? Sludge Belcher, Loatheb, Unstable Ghoul, Stoneskin Gargoyle.
I believe Sludge belcher is very under rated and being compared to senjin as worse. I do not agree
Unstable Ghoul I think will find its way into alot of control decks to help this zoo based meta
Loatheb I believe will find its way into almost every deck as a 5 slot although azure will be very hard to replace with this.
Stoneskin Gargoyle people are saying is a bad card and people are thinking about putting it in priest decks and druids. I think people will see it will be a great card for priests with taunt same in druids decks.
I'll be surprised if Sludge Belcher turns out to be played a lot. It's a Sen'jin Shieldmasta stapled to a Goldshire Footman. One of those cards is terrible and the other feels late coming out on turn 5.
With so many cards (and hero powers) that instantly kill off any x/1, I really think Blizzard wants that no one plays them. Unstable Ghoul counters Argent Squire and Scarlet Crusader hard and can kill off any 2/3 or 3/2, while having Taunt. It doesn't fit into all decks tho. It's a great anti-early-aggression card tho, forces the game to slow down and I bet will see play in many decks.
I don't think Loatheb will be omnipresent. He's nice and all, but I think he's outmatched by Spectral Knight, unless he's specifically used to prepare a kill turn. I can't judge it yet properly, without seeing his application in actual matches, so I won't set that in stone.
Sludge Belcher is just nothing amazing. It's a stronger Harvest Golem for 2(!) more mana. Havest yields 2/3 and 2/1 for a total of 4/4 compared to Sledge's 3/5 and 1/2 for a total of 4/7 with taunt - again, 2 Mana more and 2 turns later (which is huge). He is not terrible and unplayable, but he's outmatched imo. A 1/2 doesn't help to trade well enough either. If it would be a 2/1 token or if he had 3/6 base stats, he'd be a lot better.
Sludge Belcher I don't like this card, I can't find a reason why to put this in a deck. Why to have a turn 5 taunt when you can have a turn 4 taunt like senjin? I belive he will see some play when undertaker comes out and you wanna construct a deathrattle theme deck.
Stoneskin Gargoyle This card may see some play in priest inner fire decks or after Echoing Ooze is out and you build a deck that has many small minions and uses buffs (Druid, Paladin decks). Other than that it is pretty much useless.
Loatheb Will probably see play as long as control and combo decks (Miracle, Token Druid) are used. It can stop their combos for one turn and has very good stats! If the meta involves heavy minion decks then there are other choices at the 5 mana cost.
Unstable Ghoul Can't wait to see this card in my control warrior deck. Wanna see if it can stop the early zoo aggresion. I think It is a good card for control warrior mainly.
Webspinner (possibly) Wanna try a midrange hunter deck, I think this is a very very good card.
Duplicate (possibly) It will see some play when Mad Scientist will be released. Let's see if mage will be better after this.
I'm with zUkUu on basically everything. I'm especially worried about what Unstable Ghoul is going to do to my token deck. That card has serious utility.
Stoneskin gargoyle is probably going into my priest deck. Not really sure about the other cards from the next wing.
Do we know which class challenges come this week ?
Mage and Hunter.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I looked at this card originally and I thought, you know, it's a card, and you play this card. The card will be that card that you play so you're playing a card. So, it is one thing to play a card. If you're opponent doesn't really have any cards, the card will screw up the card pretty hard, and that means it's a pretty good card.
What makes [card]Webspinner[/card] interesting to me is the possibility of drawing beast cards you do not currently play. Granted it would be incredibly unreliable due to the many neutral beasts but it's a 2 for 1 and helps with card draw with a Starving Buzzard out.
Sludge belcher might be used after all the wings are released, in a mid range deathrattle deck. This week I think we'll see a lot of loatheb and unstable ghoul. The gargoyle almost not at all.
It is but think about the value you get from the 1/2 being out of reach of all hero powers.. and the fact that it expends a possible bigger body that would otherwise be going at your face to in turn hit it making it pretty valuable in my opinion.
7/28/2014 9:53:54 PM
Oh and they both will fit other mana curves I feel in certain decks. I really think people are under rating sludge.
7/28/2014 9:56:21 PM
I am hoping to find a way to put it into a priest deck.. I think it will be better value then people think. Even the 1/3 cleric last for freaking ever while you keep it healed. Even a turn 4 with stoneskin and shield. :D
Will be mage and hunter!
7/28/2014 10:03:49 PM
I feel you on that one. It makes it feel that argent and leper gnome are the only decent 1 drops (possibly worgan) that get some value before they are killed
Unstable Ghoul I think will really see alot of play. I believe control warriors will be using this card especially since they have to fit a lower mana curve now to even compete I feel. Trades so well. I think my druid deck will be using him as well to up my odds vs zoo decks.
Loatheb I am with you on that one. I really cant see the value some of the other people are seeing in this card, however im not that great at creating decks and plays without being able to test the card.
I am not positive on sludge. I feel people are judging this card based on senjin although I feel they will play completely different roles due to their mana cost that will fill out the curve of the deck they are played in. I dont feel the 1/2 spawned is to necessarily to trade though. I feel its more something that would be to take a possible big hit to the face away and force that lethal next turn from your opponent ect. He will be used more vs control decks I am seeing vs aggro were abom would work better if compared to him at least. I think sludge will be amazing vs miracle if he did not already use his saps :)
You have better 5 drop that have a lot more stopping power and trade more efficiently with bonus effects instead of a taunt. If you really want a mid range taunt, just go for Senji or the new Deathlord... a 1/2 body on turn 5 is INCREDIBLE weak and will die without killing anything in almost all cases. It's just not a good card, sorry. It needs other stats, a different mana cost or a different token to be worthwhile.
Stoneskin Gargoyle would be good in Sword of Justice Paladin decks imo. 2/5 that heals itself each turn for 3 is good. Now if you spice another buff or Blessing of Kings on it... People will need silences or are dead to it.
I dont think Sludge Belcher will be used in a deathrattle deck as its not to aggro-ish although it may help them to stabilize. And for all we know a deathrattle deck doesnt have to be aggro I guess it just made more sense to me. But the thing people arent seeing is it may cost more but its going to fit the curve of different decks. To expend a high attack creature to attack a measly 1/2 would be value for you
Stoneskin Gargoyle to me is alot better then people think. Druid and priest card for sure but even now a 1/3 cleric last for awhile in priest decks with healing. a garg with a shield even would last awhile.. and with a taunt giver thats amazing in my book :)
Loatheb I agree I really have to see the way it is played to make assumptions. Besides miracle which you tend to get low with playing a druid per say does not always have meh board control when they use the combo. But I see your point
Unstable Ghoul I cannot wait to see in control either along with their weapon. I wish both released tomorrow.. Same with duplicate and scientist. Although it would seem "unfair" to pally and hunter I see it most being used by mages.
Duplicate I am agreeing with you on, I reaaaaaaaaaally want a viable secrets mage deck. I do not think mage is terrible just not that great. Regular control mage is pretty decent (not freeze control) Aggro mage seems to work decently to.
7/28/2014 10:20:07 PM
I would not be to worried against token druid. Only because I do not get violet teacher to stay more then two turns unless I was already winning by quite a bit. Dropping it on turn 8-10 predicting when FON SR combo comes out would be ok I guess. But so would any taunt as that 1 damage isent going to kill off the FON
7/28/2014 10:20:55 PM
I heard mage and hunter
7/28/2014 10:23:22 PM
True. But the possibility to get something crazy like the beast or king crush would be pretty funny..
7/28/2014 10:28:03 PM
I agree with Loatheb
Garg Im still thinking is under rated. Regular priests can keep cards alive while trading so well..
Sludge I think again is under rated. To many people comparing to senjin. Fits different mana curves IMO and will be better in different areas just like the one you stated.
I agree with Ghoul and warrior ALOT. I think any deck could play it though. Its a nice 2 drop that WILL trade with most everything around its cost.
I feel you on Loatheb being double edged I guess I did not think of it that way or the potential in zoo decks along with egg to really combat board sweeps. Turn 6-7 vs mage turn 6 or 5 I forget for conc equality combo
Webspinner is going to be a fun card.
You have no hopes for duplicate at all? I want a secrets deck SO bad to be viable for ladder..
7/28/2014 10:29:41 PM
Why exactly is Onyxia loatheb and sludge in here for to do? I do like loatheb and sludge just not seeing an overall theme in this deck or any place for onyxia exactly
7/28/2014 10:31:17 PM
I agree. I feel deathrattle will be more aggro based as most are aggro based for deathrattle I feel but I am hoping a midrange deck with deckrattle and those two as taunts would be pretty awesome! Garg getting no love):
7/28/2014 10:35:12 PM
You dont think even to fit the curve of some decks as a 5 slot? What do you all thing is better for a 5 cost card just so I can see your point a bit better :)
7/28/2014 10:36:35 PM
ohhh Blood thats awesome I have not thought about either of those combos I was not even thinking pally decks! I will def be trying that out I believe.
Webspinner for sure! It is so good! A tiny loss in tempo (1-mana worth of it) to get a free card?? Having two of them in your deck means you are playing with 32 cards, not 30! And what's the worst case? Well, okay, getting two of Angry Chicken or Young Dragonhawk will sure make you sad, but at worst they can trigger your Scavenging Hyena or Starving Buzzard. And I'm quite certain that, unlike with two eggs or similar, your opponent will sure not want to waste his silences on Webspinners.
And then we didn't even talk about having Rivendare on board...
I don't think I'll use them much, but I'll probably at least play around with all of the cards from week 2, unlike the cards in week 1 which were by and large garbage IMO.
Ok, but thats way off being garbage. Not a winning game card, but it fits in many decks and being silenced means other cards wont.
I tend to be happy when I see it show up on a Rogue board (they've just given up tempo) or Zoolock (one less Power Overwhelming I have to worry about biting me in the behind once I have something up that I care about).
I'm hoping Unstable Ghoul will allow me to start playing Warrior again.
I really don't think it's going to be that hot for Warrior. Either you combo it with Warsong Commander (in which case it's a more expensive Whirlwind), or you play it as a taunt, giving your enemy first crack at triggering it to extend the reach of their own removal.
