I've found the combo of enter the coliseum and humility to be a very effective board clear in my recent games. Just wanting to know why other people haven't used it? I'm running Equality and Pyro/ Concec as well as Eadric the pure etc.
Because Enter the coliseum costs 6 mana and don't even remove all minions. It's in many cases simply unreliable. And Humility is bad too in many situations. Both together might be strong, but still it's too weak compared to other board wipes.
I like to run it WITH the other board clears, it gives you more options going into the late game. It lets me remove all their early/mid game threats with equality/pyro and then the super late game minions with ETC
Why would you equality a board with one minion left? Sounds like a huge waste. Enter the coliseum only fits deck that are running reno, because you have to go for subpar cards in order to fill the deck.
I agree, it's a great combo, but individually the cards are underwhelming. Another thing to consider, how often does it turn out that you have ONE card at the exact moment when you need it, let alone two cards? I feel that since having both at once could be very unreliable, this is why many people aren't running them.
On top of that, if you ever actually end up playing against a deck that isn't minion heavy, you're going to have four slots in your deck dedicated to board clear which won't be doing a lot for you.
It is a very cool card, but unfortunately useless IMO because:
1) Paladin class relies on his board control, and such a card would be too situational that it could be stuck on your hand while you have your own board to maintain. Aggro/Midrange Paladin will never need this.
2) Would Control Paladin need it? Maybe, but it could be too slow and too situational again. It is useful if Control Paladin does not have his own board and also need to remove at least 3-4 enemy minions in the late game. However, why would Control Paladin rather spend more mana to remove enemy board and to keep the biggest enemy threat than putting down a big threat against the enemy? If not, you would probably lose by then.
That's true but the same could be said for any other two card, board clear combo. And people are happy to run Kodo/humility, so why not pay one extra mana for ETC? You remove all their minions except one but it has only 1 power so it's no longer a threat...
ETC + Humility is great, but I think it is less flexible than pyro+equality, aldor, uldaman, pyro.
Paladin have a lot of staple, it is hard enough to throw some staple, let alone adding 2 new card which is less flexible than the staple
2 x wild pyro, 2x equality, 2x consecration
2x aldor, 2x uldaman
2x truesilver
tirion, lay on hands
That is 14 card already, which is half the deck. And those staple doesnt even have a win condition, so you need to insert win condition such Dragon synergy, Nzoth for heavy control which forces you to run eadric, sylvanas, and other draw card.
You don't even need theHumility in my opinion... Aldor Peacekeeper is 2 mana more which means 9 mana combo but you'd probably use this in the late game anyway.
I do like the card. It works in a Reno list, but I guess that shows how good it is, not good enough. Sure feels bad when you see a Brawl and how much better it is, on top of being 1 mana less.
If Brawl RNG works out, you keep your best minion and completely clear the opposing board for insane value. Even if Brawl works out badly, the worst case scenario of leaving the opponents best minion up, is not that much worse than Enter the Coliseum.
Brawl just outclasses it in nearly every circumstance possible, and it's 1 mana less.

Its really not consistent enough because people only play brawl to get rid of threats. it kind sucks when the main one is still around

Yeah but that's why you combo it with equality so the big threat left behind is neutralised...

I put it in my Reno Pally.

Sorry I meant humility

You humility the threat that's left so it's effectively a board clear.
I'm having great success with "enter the colosseum" in my Dragon deck.
I'm not sure what the benefit of this combo is over Equality + Consecration
The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.
Because it leaves the strongest minion on the board.
My legendary count excluding adventure legendaries, dupes and old murk eye: 40

Too bad, too expensive. It´s only good against token/swarm decks, and even then, a simple consecration or equality/consec is better.
Why should i invest 2 cards to not even remove the biggest thread? In certain situations it´s not terrible, but these are rare.
ETC + Humility is great, but I think it is less flexible than pyro+equality, aldor, uldaman, pyro.

Still, I can see it being used at Reno paladin.
Please stop using ETC when you mean Enter the Coliseum since it has been used to mean Elite Tauren Chieftain for way longer.
You don't even need theHumility in my opinion... Aldor Peacekeeper is 2 mana more which means 9 mana combo but you'd probably use this in the late game anyway.
But I run Enter the Coliseum in my N'Zoth deck and it works fine.
