Seeing how Blizzard totally gave no attention to wild format with this expansion, with more eventual expansions in future, making wild format more wild, do you think Blizz will eventually take out Wild format from the game?
There is no reason to shut down wild, they will probably not care about it (same as arena kappa :P), but if they did that, they would make invalid a large part of your collection, there is not a single reason for why that step should ever be taken.
You say no attention, but several of the cards like Forlorn Stalker are significantly better Wild cards than Standard cards. So either they were made intentionally mediocre for Standard, or more likely, were made with Wild in mind.
Wild format will always be here. It is simply a matter of how playable it is.
I think at very worse if Wild is too popular vs Standard that Blizzard will take back some concessions they gave like display your Wild rank for your friends or give end of season rewards for Wild rank.
Don't believe so; removing content, especially this would be counterproductive. Removing stuff is NEVER good. Since competitive play will only happen in standard and all Streamer jump on the standard-bandwaggon (since they have the money), a lot of people jump with them too.
In worst case, they will simply add an additional reward to Standard. But they will surely not remove ranked play or showing up ranked status, especially now when they added it.
But all in all i don't believe any of this will happen. They quickly learned that people want to play what they want, so the only difference between wild and standard are the blizzcon-points. And in my personal oppinion that's enough.
They have no reason to remove it from the game so I don't see why they ever would. i also don't think Blizzard would care all that much if wild became more popular than standard as long as it kept the money flowing.
Honestly I'll be surprised if they don't try to find a way to rotate the wild cards back into standard at some point in the future after everyone's dusted their wild sets.
What I think they will end up doing (or indeed the smart thing to do and what I would suggest):
Introduce a pack that contains "wild-only" cards, basically a compilation pack of all previous expansions. Similar to the "wild" pack generator on this site.
Have a loot filtering/specialization system for reward packs from modes like arena and Tavern Brawl. If you change your settings to prioritize old packs that you don't have, rather than newer packs, you get old packs far more often.
Give rotated cards equal enchant/disenchant value for some time so that new players who want to get into the format can try it and decide for themselves. I would actually like to see this implemented for the whole game, since most people have a hard time deciding if a certain deck is right for them, and in some cases could save themselves a lot of pain and dust when building a top tier deck. Obviously the borrowed cards can't be used on ladder for benefit, but give players a few games to decide if a card or deck is right for them or not.
Make dust a purchasable currency. I believe this would benefit all, since having to buy packs simply to disenchant them is a real pain.
Otherwise, I don't think wild will be phased out but much like Vintage and Legacy MTG, the number of players will wane due to the steep entry cost and high learning curve.
Removing Wild would mean that people who collected cards for GvG and Nax, or any expansion for that manner, would have to disenchant their card and crafted cards for lower value, meaning that the purpose of Hearthstone, which is to not only win and gain experience but to also collect, would cease to exist. Why would anyone buy expansions anymore if after two years, they'll be completely unplayable and gone from the face of the game. So no Wild might become bat-shit crazy and broken and blizzard might run into problems balancing these two very different modes without destroying one card in one mode and balancing it in another, but Wild must exist.

That's true. But I can't imagine Wild format after the next few few expansions.
It's just a thought, am not complaining or whining. I've got enough cards to play Standard & wild, just wanted to see what people think about it.

Nope.

When I said no attention, it doesn't mean WOG made Wild decks weaker, I meant it as in terms of playability, balance, etc.
No, because Eater of Secrets exists

Wild is just lots and lots of fun for people like me who want to make stupid decks work with friends.
I'd be pretty sad if they took away my Squidface 15 damage dagger deck away.

No. Wild isn't really popular right now because people were sick of the previous meta. Give it a month or two, Wild will be played regularly.

Might as well ask if the Black Lotus will ever be a worthless card.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Of course not, Wild will be alive 4 ever man,the maximun that can happens is divide into another format ,but no more than that.
Standard > Wild
Eventually it will get popular....I do think Blizz needs to nerf a few cards over there but that's not going to happen.

Mostly Harmless
